Tradition in the name of god lol that all non of the practice are in bible lol perhaps they need to stop listening to their pastor who want to control everything.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

What this man has found is a cheap substitute for Christian faith. Saying prayers won't save you, neither will emotional experience. Faith, repentence, baptism, and a faithful life unto death are salvation. What did Jesus tell the rich young ruler? Did he tell him to "get saved" like a Baptist? If the sinner's prayer is so important, why isn't it in the Bible? If the Roman's Road is so important, why did the Apostle Paul clutter it all up with the other stuff? Go back to your church.
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10,11
please people do not believe everything this man is saying about the amish ,what he says is true of some of the amish but not all of them, i know because i was amish, i just wish people that leave the amish faith would stop thinking that they are so much better now they think themselves better then amish i just have to wonder did they study there bible before or after they left.
@MaryYoder64 What this man found was the FREE GIFT of God by faith in Jesus Christ alone. He knows he is saved and wants to tell others and would never believe that he is "better". There are no "good works" before salvation, that anyone can do that will please God.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8,9.
@MaryYoder64 do you read your bible each day Mary Yoder...I am married to an ex-mennonite man and his family is wonderful and loving to us and to those around them....and I also know amish families as I live in an area where the amish and mennonites reside and they are just human beings like all the rest of us...some live good and some do not...
I'm not one to tell you how to live, but It's my perspective as a fellow Christian that although the amish have their traditions, and that some of those traditions cause problems, that they still have a lot of things right. I would argue that instead of leaving the amish(even if you are excommunicated), that you should start your own community of plain living christians. Essentially the amish do that already, only with you doing it-it would create more truth inside the plain people.
then maxtube22 leave them be what did they do to you anyway becides do you think you so are righteous that you can judge and be God. They have a serine way of life that most of us cannot comprehind nor could we live I love there simplicity. You and I have our gods and beliefs and we as they are not forced to believe any way it is your choice thats what makes the USA the most awsome place in the world we aint a primative nation so thank God for that
"Well looky, looky a nigger with a job... I am proud of you NOW GET THE FUCK OUT you trash, scum, pig...Hitler killed himself so little pieces of shit like you couldnt persecute him..NOW GO TO HELL."
"we aint a primative nation"
First Jimmy BOY, learn to read, then learn to read your own words, then learn how pathetic you truly are. Then repent to the True Christ or be lost for all eternity. Lastly I don't bother any Amish, if you could actually read my comments you would have understood that.
@muscleshowguy Your effeminate cliches don't work on me muscle boy, why don't you post my issues and tell me the help I need for them instead of posting empty useless effeminate cliches which say nothing.
The main thing that I do know that I could say I don't agree with some Amish on is pure pacifism. I don't find that a major heresy to send someone to hell though even though I think it is a sick doctrine.
"Amish children are taught if they don't stay Amish they are going to hell".
So this preacher is making the Amish into a cult. I have never heard that Amish have any types of seriously heretical beliefs overall, they are not a unified group, they are all independants since the time of the anabaptists so you can't say all Amish believe the same things any more then you can say all Baptists believe in the same things. Of course some Amish will be heretics, just like some baptists.
If someone can point me to some kind of Amish book of commandments (other then the Bible) which all Amish believe and accept and base their doctrinal interpretations upon then I will change my mind and consider them a cult, but I am not aware of any such book or a works based salvation doctrine that all Amish accept any more then there is a Baptist book of commandments (other then the Bible) that all Baptists base their doctrinal interpretations on.
@maxtube22 yeah but what religion doesnt teach that? i know christianity does for sure most all religions say if its not there way your going to hell the amish are no differnt than most religions in that aspect
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Romans 13:7
That verse has a multitude of exceptions. I will refuse to the death to honor and render to genocidal murderers and various other tools of Satan whatever they wish. If bowing down and honoring every wish of any wicked man with a gun and a 'country' is the 'will of God', then I am a heretic because I will never accept a pure pacifistic interpretation.

@McCartanTransport If you haven't already, you should watch "Trouble In Amish Paradise," about two families who tried doing just that.
