Truly an educational video. That was some precision surgery. The movement is similar to "a chicken running with it's headcut off," or a lizard's tail squirming after it detached from the body. That pig had an honorable death, Katsamoto approved.
@AntiSpeciesistWorld I don't believe that animals have the same consciousness as humans. The way I raised and cared for the animal is my justification for its death and the method of slaughter I employed.
@TjenkinsandAige I assume your saying you raised your pigs well, which is good, considering what goes on in factory farms. But I think it would be ethical if you secured an instant death for the pig. They may not be as smart as people but they certainly have the ability to suffer a great deal of pain as they have a nervous system. There is little reason to assume they couldn't suffer.
@AntiSpeciesistWorld I didn't mean to convey that I think they don't suffer at all. I mean that they don't experience the intensity of suffering that humans do. Yes, they have a nervous system, but do they have a soul, a self-awareness, or is it merely instincts, or perhaps just electrical firings inside their limited grey matter?
But, more practically, I don't know of a faster (but still pragmatic) death than a bullet to the brain. What would you suggest for securing an "instant death"?
@TjenkinsandAige Well the pigs appeared to be alive even after the bullet to the brain, which doesn't seem to add up but I mean it would be better if they definitely died immediately with the bullet to the brain but in this video they are struggling after the bullet strikes.
Also if pigs had no consciousness' they wouldn't have the ability to personalities, to express emotions, to socialized. They would all act in unison, like machines and wouldn't even require emotions perhaps.
Piggies so idiot.

@mainen00 i guess you are referring to the other pigs eating the organs of the slaughtered pig?

I think the pig survived this.

This didn't look like an ethical killing to me, at 00:30 the pig seems to be in a lot of pain. Can you justify this?

@MrBrebri the pig was kicking its back leg, so it seemed certainly alive to me.

I've never seen a hog skinned like that. I've seen them dipped in hot water and scraped, but never skinned. Interesting.
