If you want to talk about pro cars, how about the WORLD'S FASTEST 4 CYLINDER CAR [that's not tube chassis]? It's a 1999 eclipse that runs 6 second quarter mile times UNIBODY.
@ctsincebay doorslammers with nitrous and normally aspirated run 5sec quarters.. normally aspirated, and shit ill pull the top fuel card and the 4 sec quarters. In terms of drag speeds DSMs are not that fast. Unless your talking about street legal cars, but even then there are 7 sec street legal rods out there, where as the 6 second DSM is very far from being street legal. I own a GSX too not hating on DSMs i love em.

@ctsincebay Something you need to understand, is that 6 seconds for a car DESIGNED to do one thing and one thing only, drag racing, is not nearly as fast as other cars designed for only drag racing, such as top fuel cars. That's the other thing, they have to pump 100psi of boost into that little four banger to get 6 secs, when normally aspirated v8's with ONLY NITROUS can break 6 seconds. V8's are king for power production and drag racing in general.

@betterdropdatdonk ACTUALLY that video was made because I sold 6 of them and I used that as a good example of the performance of the laptop. Presently I use a Sager 8170 laptop for fun and an elitebook for work. My current g35 is definitely not fast; it's just nice to drive. My first g35 was pretty decent. made 387 at the wheels with a stillen kit. I've also had a 91 turbo 2 rx7, 89 starion with t3/t4, 92 civic vx with a drag gen 3, and a 95 240sx KAT.

I had a couple more cars and then got the 91 RX7 turbo2, with ceramic seals and a T25, tuned at exclusiv to make 254whp. I wrecked it, got a couple of cars, then got the civic. POS with NOTHING; stripped to the bone with an LS and 100 shot ran 14.2, blew the motor, put a b18c and the drag gen with custom manifold. ran 11.87@118 in Enis. gave it to a
@rafarocket friend who eventually put an H22 in it with a huge ass turbo and ruined people all the time at street races around DFW area. had a few more cars, then got an 03 base g35coupe blue; did a sport package conversion, installed an all polk stereo, dropped, rims, etc and finally put a stillen supercharger kit on it. safe tuned at Alamo to 387whp on 91pump gas. Someone hit it in the parking lot on the rear QP so fixed and replaced it with an S600. Been enjoying luxury since then
@rafarocket Ops forgot to say, I bought a 95 240sx off a buddy. It made 354WHP on a built KA-T with a T61. I parked it at my mom's house when I left the state and 2 years later ended up selling it to a friend. Presently own an unrestricted 01 GTS, 04 FX45, 06 G35 TOTL, and an 08 Maserati GT. Are they fast? Not really, but aside from the GTS (which gets great MPG for commutes!), I prefer enjoying the luxury, and have grown out of the boy racer stage.

@ctsincebay If four cylinders are so much better than v8's how come there hasn't been any? The answer is simple, there not inherently good at making power. Especially large displacement 4 cylinder engines, the vibrations would tear the car to shreds. Thats why you dont see any 10 litre four cylinders, and see many 10 litre v8's. They handle the displacement better, and make more power and much more torque.

@ctsincebay 4 cylinder engines are naturally high in vibreations. Why do you think they put harmonic balancers in almost all of the new 4 cylinders. Journals on a 4 cylinder engines are 90 degrees apart, which will naturally cause more vibrations than an engine with less extreme angles on the crankshaft due to having more cylinders, making them smoother.

@Imakeplanesboom Actually... The hood bump is to clear the timing belt assembly, and... Eclipse GSX's (AWD Eclipses) were here long before any WRX's were. I think the first year they imported and WRX's was around 2000, and I have owned a 1991 GSX for many years. It's nearly stock, and I have an 04 WRX, completely stock. The GSX whoops it's ass any time it chooses...
@hsvbrolsma this argument would be relevent if there was a 1g in the video, 1g's are way better than 2g's and just cause this eclipse is modded doesnt mean that its modds are very great, a cat back exhaust and a k&n air filter is not much of a gain, especially since the 2g already has a tiny turbo and seriously restricted intercooler system not to mention a freaking side mount! but I agree with you, mitsubishi 90's awd turbo cars are freaking amazing if you mod them right.

TD05 mostly just means mitsibishi turbo... but your right about 4g63 in both, 91-92 was the 6 bolt, some 93's got the 6 bolt, than after that was the 7 bolt 4g63...

When Tony Palo first broke into the 8's with his integra did all integras become fast all of a sudden? No. Integras are slow. A true general statement is that integras and eclipses are both slow, and you're an eclipse fan boy who only runs a 20 second boot up laptop.

@betterdropdatdonk ACTUALLY that video was made because I sold 6 of them and I used that as a good example of the performance of the laptop. Presently I use a Sager 8170 laptop for fun and an elitebook for work. My current g35 is definitely not fast; it's just nice to drive. My first g35 was pretty decent. made 387 at the wheels with a stillen kit. I've also had a 91 turbo 2 rx7, 89 starion with t3/t4, 92 civic vx with a drag gen 3, and a 95 240sx KAT.

I had a couple more cars and then got the 91 RX7 turbo2, with ceramic seals and a T25, tuned at exclusiv to make 254whp. I wrecked it, got a couple of cars, then got the civic. POS with NOTHING; stripped to the bone with an LS and 100 shot ran 14.2, blew the motor, put a b18c and the drag gen with custom manifold. ran 11.87@118 in Enis. gave it to a

@rafarocket friend who eventually put an H22 in it with a huge ass turbo and ruined people all the time at street races around DFW area. had a few more cars, then got an 03 base g35coupe blue; did a sport package conversion, installed an all polk stereo, dropped, rims, etc and finally put a stillen supercharger kit on it. safe tuned at Alamo to 387whp on 91pump gas. Someone hit it in the parking lot on the rear QP so fixed and replaced it with an S600. Been enjoying luxury since then

@rafarocket Ops forgot to say, I bought a 95 240sx off a buddy. It made 354WHP on a built KA-T with a T61. I parked it at my mom's house when I left the state and 2 years later ended up selling it to a friend. Presently own an unrestricted 01 GTS, 04 FX45, 06 G35 TOTL, and an 08 Maserati GT. Are they fast? Not really, but aside from the GTS (which gets great MPG for commutes!), I prefer enjoying the luxury, and have grown out of the boy racer stage.

I'd assert that if there were, you'd see some in the traps at 6 seconds, also. @ctsincebay If four cylinders are so much better than v8's how come there hasn't been any? The answer is simple, there not inherently good at making power. Especially large displacement 4 cylinder engines, the vibrations would tear the car to shreds. Thats why you dont see any 10 litre four cylinders, and see many 10 litre v8's. They handle the displacement better, and make more power and much more torque.

@ctsincebay 4 cylinder engines are naturally high in vibreations. Why do you think they put harmonic balancers in almost all of the new 4 cylinders. Journals on a 4 cylinder engines are 90 degrees apart, which will naturally cause more vibrations than an engine with less extreme angles on the crankshaft due to having more cylinders, making them smoother.

I conclude that the eclipse in this video has 1 maybe 2 mods, and that still wouldn't put it at the same HP as the WRX stock, intake and exhaust doesn't help when you leave your little baby turbo, intercooler pipes, side mount intercooler, and shitty O2 housing w/ mini me downpipe... the race seen here is understandable, a stock WRX against a mostly stock GSX

@Imakeplanesboom Actually... The hood bump is to clear the timing belt assembly, and... Eclipse GSX's (AWD Eclipses) were here long before any WRX's were. I think the first year they imported and WRX's was around 2000, and I have owned a 1991 GSX for many years. It's nearly stock, and I have an 04 WRX, completely stock. The GSX whoops it's ass any time it chooses...

@hsvbrolsma this argument would be relevent if there was a 1g in the video, 1g's are way better than 2g's and just cause this eclipse is modded doesnt mean that its modds are very great, a cat back exhaust and a k&n air filter is not much of a gain, especially since the 2g already has a tiny turbo and seriously restricted intercooler system not to mention a freaking side mount! but I agree with you, mitsubishi 90's awd turbo cars are freaking amazing if you mod them right.

@hsvbrolsma Your almost right, yeah the gsx has been around alot longer than any wrx, that guy dosent have a clue what he is talking about... but the turbo in the 2g and the one in the 1g are two very different turbos, the 1g has a 14b and the 2g has a t25... TD05 mostly just means mitsibishi turbo... but your right about 4g63 in both, 91-92 was the 6 bolt, some 93's got the 6 bolt, than after that was the 7 bolt 4g63...
