Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great game series such as Donkey Kong Country. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
@KF2Ktv i do and after this we can play wwf no mercy and watch the warriors think about who things used to be then play nba jam then goldeneye and drink coke ALL DAY but it would be the best day of my life
@LEXTHE4 Sure. Don't ask dude. Youtube is like a free place to do whatever you want. If you make it though, you gotta let me know, because I wanna have a listen.
@RashadX5 because it reminds you of a time of innocence and that actually life used to be great as kids. shame we gotta grow up and and realise the world is fucked and corrupt!! it was good while it lasted though eh!
As much as this isn't as good as the amazing original sound, this is potentially the best, most powerful remix I have ever heard of such a great theme.
@IVIikeH0nch0 yeah I've had the Protricity version for a few years now and that's still the best version of Brambles I've ever heard, including the original.
I'm surprised I missed this composition! Great work darky, was expecting a jazz remix for some reason but this one is still great. Quite honestly I got no complaints, it definately captures the spirit of the original while still having your own unique twist to it. Keep em coming!
@ShyneLamar Like I said before, if you listen to a remix you are enjoying the wrong part of the song. People like the original song because a feeling of nostalgia. When they listen to a remix they like it because it modernized and sounds beast. Just because 2 songs sound good does not mean they sound good for the same reason. I personally like the original better not because it sounds super amazing but because I grew up with it. Make sense?
@ShyneLamar Not trying to troll or anything, But I just listened to that and I found it terrible. When you make a remix you are removing the retro element that makes it what it is. Once you modernize a retro song, it is just a song that can be compared to any other 21st century song.
When I was younger I remember I got DKC 2, DKC 3, and a players guide to each game all as one present from my parents for my brithday. To this day it is still my favorite present I've ever gotten for my birthday.
Very nice remix, one of the best out there, and I salute you for attempting the impossible, but the original is just too perfect for anything to surpass it, in any way.
@WhatTheFnu most of brawl's remixes just took the song, swapped the instruments and made it HQ, without keeping the THEME and intention of the original work. it just treated them as data that had to be converted.
@SuperShadow You're a purist, then; the kind of person who thinks Run DMC's version of "Walk this way" was inferior to the original. The brawl version picked up the tempo, had a sharper sound, and all in all, simply had more energy. It made me feel like going on an adventure as opposed to just boring me to death. And as with game mechanics, game music can sometimes benefit from modern updates. Just look at Fairuzon's remake of the Champion Lance theme.
@WhatTheFnu I'm not saying remakes are bad, i'm saying those that have nothing to do with the original in terms of style are, or don't have any new style that's fun to listen to.
the purpose in the original was to calm you as you tried not to throw the controller across the room.
brawl's felt like it had no direction with the song, mainly because the game isn't hard.
@SuperShadow Every time I hear the brawl version, I want to pick up the game again because it reminds me of the stage it was featured in. Might I also add that the brawl version fits a faster-paced game, and kept pace with the brisk progression, difficulty or not. Granted, the original does that too, but all it reminds me of is a video-game version of operation, where I want to hang myself every time I touch the sides. That's why I try to judge the song by itself instead of tying memories to it.
No remix can ever reach Stickerbrush Symphony - cause the original is already the best kind of expression to the whole scene, in wich this piece of art took place. Smooth and spiky at once. The right speed, the right depth, the right harmony.
From all the levels I played in DKC, no levelstage was that much in synchronisation with his backgroundmusic, as the Stickerbrush Symphony.
My only problem with this is that the instruments aren't pronounced enough, they all sort of blend in to this big high-pitched wind and you have to really remember the original to hear them perfectly.
It's just a bit too, you know, soft, without the character of the original.
Well, I think that point was to to put them in the background somewhat. If you just listen to it as a whole, you still get the ambiance. Though more difficult to pick out each thing individually.
This is a fantastic remix but the intro goes just a tad too long, other than that it's fantastic, I love the sound effects you used for the melody sequences, has a great progressive feel to it, well done!
@mewinmew2 what you can hear it? I can't, i dont know what that pokebound guy is talking about !? I can't hear anything that resembles superintendent Chalmers yelling "Skinner"!

A remix can never beat the original. When you modernize the retro songs, you are losing what made them so perfect. Still, the remix sounds nice.
