The President of Iran actually has very little power. Most of the power in the current system lies with the Council of Guardians and the Supreme Leader. Khatami might not be perfect but he tried to make contacts in the west and improve relations .
I got an unconditional offer from the University of St.Andrews. But I also have received an offers from the Universities of Birmingham and Liverpool. I don't know which one to choose. Can anyone make suggestions?
Hi. It depends on what course you want to study. Birmingham is good if you want to study engineering. St Andrew's is good for humanities courses. To be honest I don't know anything about liverpool university.
you forgot to mention how Mugabe deliberately forces his citizens to starve while he lives in opulent palaces while his wife spends whatever little the economy on clothes and the good life. and how his disasterous economic sanctions has forced the country's inflation rate which is now at 100 000% which means people cant even afford a peice of bread. how he ignores the HIV crisis in his country...i could go on and on too
ahmadinejad and his party and friends are doing nothing but literary destroying iran.. when you compare them and treat them as equal it just shows how ignorant you are regarding the differences between these two and their thoughts..
He did Not manage to stop acts against human rights in iran during his presidency, Not because he didn't want to, but rather because of political obstacles and oddities in iranian constitution and regiem power which is not truely in the hands of president, specially when he disagrees in general policies with those who really have the power in their hands..

I went to St. Andrews Uni. I am ashamed they gave this tyrant a degree. At the same time Glasgow Uni. was stripping Mugabe of his honorary degree.

How can you compare Mugabe to Khatami?
Idiot!

Zimbabwe doesn't hang homosexuals even though Mugabe would probably like to. Mugabe doesn't want to get a nuclear bomb. I could go on and on.

It is a great step to have a shia scholar, and former president of an Islamic Republic going to a such prestigious University. May God bless you
