It's good the owner has these, what happens in the winter when salt ends up on the ground to try and handle the snow. It would be worse for a dog to run around on the salt/grit as it damaged their paws.

Surely it's a good thing that the owner has enough sense to foresee such problems?

I live in Phoenix and today when my weim pup was crossing the street and it was so hot he started doing the hot potatoe dance :D. Thankfully my buddy was next to him and picked him up quickly. It was funny but could of hurt the little guy. I'm looking into these tomorrow.

My sister and I used to put mittens on our lab's feet and put a hat on his head and played ball with him. He loved it and it was gosh darn hilarious. My Weimaraner will be investing in a pair of boots soon. Relax all you cray crays.

To everyone who thinks poorly of dog shoes,

The shoes are very handy and with a bit of training don't bother the dogs at all. I have to put shoes on my boxer/lab through the winter months because it gets to cold for his paws on his required walk. He might fuss at first but does welcome his shoes afterwards. They do a great job protecting sensitive paws.

Houndrocks is a very responsible owner, insuring her dogs paws are protected.

Their paws are just tough tissue and do get easily injured.

Where did u get the booties from? I had a real problem this winter, Blue (my dearly departed Weim) could bearly walk as the ground was so cold. If/when we get a another dog I would try and get some.

I know, I've watched it more than once, too! He's so cute! We need to get our greyhound mix some boots for the cold. I took her and our beagle/chow mix for a run in the snow right before the temps plummeted a couple weeks back, and she ran her feet bloody in the snow. I hated seeing her mince around when she went out to do her business those next several days. They took a good four days to heal up, poor girl.

Gotta love the high steppin' weimaraners! My weim walks that way at first with her boots too... but she gets used to them after a few minutes. She does stop occasionally and shake her front paws to try to get the boots to come off, but I'm sure she'd prefer the boots to having to get in the tub to wash her feet after every walk! :)
