  • "Cops kill man by Taser, given reward and commendation." Isn't that what police forces do?

  • The Bottom Line is ...... Don't do Drugs when you are about to be Tazered !!! ..... Haha !

  • i say do away with tasers and pepperspray. just haul leather and be done with it.

  • 50,000 volts through the heart is not the cause of death? It's because you are mad? Well I get mad once in awhile and it's never led me to the hospital on my deathbed. When are these moron cops going to figure out that their nonlethal stun guns are in fact lethal.

  • Well said robertgift.

There is much ignorance about tasers on the postings here!

  • How many thousands of deaths will it take before there's a correlation strong enough to conclude healthy people being tazed leads to murder? F'ckin STOOOOPID people who justify ANY excess police action as 'saving lives'. Tazers have become a cheap substitute for common-sense, experience, training and professionalism. 50,000 children disappear each year, 25,000+ traffic deaths, 40,000+ 'accidental' hospital deaths, 30,000 gunshot deaths, 135,000 environmental deaths, -0- terrorism killings ...

  • murderer cops... your just as bad as the criminals... but you get away with a paid leave and time to lay back and relax.. fuck tha police...biaaattccchh..

  • We got all this way to where we are now WITHOUT needing these things. They are not necessary and they are wrong. The power to electrocute people, often if they so much as disagree and won't just comply totally without being able to even talk back to the police? These are not to assist arrest, they are primarily designed to frighten the population into blithe submission, to intimidate, for even the most minor situations.

  • tasing should be outlawed i dont give a fuck what the police say shooting current into a body does harm its called Electrocution WAKE THE FUCK UP YOU INBREAD MORONS

  • @roadrabbit6218 Not that much current, road.

Police officers have been tazed themselves with no ill effects.

Tazing is a nonlethal method of gaining control of a threat.

    Better than shooting the guy.

  • @roadrabbit6218

Ok doctor, engineer, whatever you think you are... You are a moron, try doing some research...

  • Maybe one should FOLLOW LAWFUL ORDERS by police officers.

The guy brought it upon himself. Caused his own death.

  • @robertgift yeah because we're all robots and don't get agitated or emotional in very stressful situations.

  • One last piece of cultivating insight on the subject of cops is their distinguishing qualities. If you strip a cop of their badge, squad car, gun, uniform, taser; would most people still have aspirations of being an officer? Of course, there may be a small minority that become cops for the honorable reasons of serving and protecting, but mainly, cops are cops for the distinction of being a cop. The distinguishing qualities is what motivates most people to become cops. They're glorified criminals

  • Let's evaluate most people that become cops. They're people whom were relatively good at sports in high school, but never really good enough to foster their athletic talents into a successful future and graduation came and these people went nowhere. So what way can these people receive any form of validation and self-worth in society? They become cops, or gym teachers. Being a cop allows these misfits authority they don't deserve and gratification that they wouldn't receive in any other field.

  • How delusional people are? Perhaps you're the deluded one. Cops that get tased in training are tased by fellow cops, colleagues. There's a dissemblance between 'friends' soft-heartedly tasing each other in form of practice than in conflict when personal stress and other forms of discretion contribute to a policeman's transgression. Being tased via practice with regulations in a controlled environment is immensely different than being tased in conflict. Spare us all the conservative bullshit!

  • I cant believe how delusional some of you people are about police work. Every single cop gets tased before they carry a taser. Some multiple times throughout all the training. Never heard of any of them die have you???? Thats because cops dont have illegal drugs in their system!!! Plus people get more hurt when cops have to fight with them. Would you rather have pain for 5 seconds or have a black eye for a week? Think about it

  • my father has a pace-maker, if he was tazered he would most likely would die. but if he was killed by an officer, it would go down in the book as him being high on a dozen different drugs or he was extremely drunk. they dont care about the wellfare of the people, they care about there paychechs and donuts.

  • "my father has a pace-maker" Hopefully, no-Brainz, your father would not cause the police to Taze him. But if he does, and dies, whose fault is it?

  • stupid troopers. think they can do wha ever they want... they should all be killed

  • Comment removed

  • It's always nice how cops get paid vacation when they fuck up. No wonder why cops are always fucking up! They get rewarding with paid leave after. You're shooting large amounts of volts right into someone's chest (hey, that's where the heart is duh). Cops use tazers like it's candy.

  • Paid vacation, eh? How many "vacations" do you go on wondering if you will have a job when you get back? Wondering if you will ever be able to get another job?

Also, learn the difference between volts and amps. Amps is what kills. Volts do not.

I would bet 99.9% of all cops use tasers only when they have to. Go on a ride along with your local police and ask them.

  • So why do you hear of 11 year olds getting tazed? 70 year old grandmas getting tazed? I'm sure that cops do use tazers properly, but there are a large amount that don't. Why would a full grown man need to use a tazer when he could use much less force to detain an 11 or 70 year old person? You hear of cops doing the most ridiculous things and being put on 'paid administrative leave' and 99% of the time nothing happens to them when they should be let go.

  • And I pick up and render medical attention many patients on the streets in police custody and cuffed who have been tazed several times, and had a lot of force used against them. And from my perspective, just about all of them were justified, but not all. It's just ridiculous that cops who really do mess up get paid vacation for it. And their actions are reviewed by other cops, who stick up for, and dismiss the wrongful actions. They should let the public decide if the cop used excessive force

  • who polices policemen?

  • Tasers are deadly weapons! Get rid of them!

  • More foolish and emotional reactions.

I wonder Action1Guy, how much do you actually KNOW about tasers - I mean apart from what is displayed in the media.

  • tazers should only be used in violent situations.

just because an individual does not comply with an order is not a reason to use tazers.

we are moving to a point were police are using them to control people.

and the polices job is not to control people.

it is to uphold the law.

and i have witness tazers being used for nothing more than control.

  • It's easy to criticize from behind the safety and comfort of your computer. When you get out into the real world, things are quite different.

Your "witnessing" is merely argument by anecdote and is therefore intellectually dishonest.

Police ARE to control people. When they break the law, the police MUST control the situation, which means controlling people.

When someone assaults you, you will think the police couldn't get there fast enough to "control" the situation.

  • So what you are saying is the police can use any force that they feel fits there judgement to control any situation.

So for example its ok for a police officer to tazer a 10year to control the the situation.

So if you have a verbal disagreement with the police they can just use a tazer.

  • Yes, the police can use any force they find necessary to control the situation.

If necessary, a police officer can use a taser on a 10 year old, especially if they are holding a knife.

A verbal disagreement may or may not necessitate the use of a taser. Your examples are far too general to give specific responses.

  • So you are saying a police officer can use tazers to issue compliance.

i.e. dont point that camera at me.

  • Possibly. Depending on the situation and what is all going on at the time.

Would you prefer they go hands on at the risk of REALLY hurting some one?

  • You have not answered my question about whether they should use it for compliance.

What you have done is link the question with a hands on situation (violence).

I am asking you if it is ok for a police officer to use a tazer in a non violent situation.

  • never trust a cop.

  • I just don't understand why people start dying once the cops get involved.

  • The guy had an enlarged heart, was high on 6 different drugs, and he fought the troopers. The taser itself was not responsible, the drugs killed the man.

  • All I can see is no taser, no death.

  • The investigation concluded that the man would have died anyways from the exertion of fighting with the police taser or no taser.

  • Never trust the cops and everything they have to say.

  • It was an independent investigation not affiliated with law enforcement. And I'm a cop.

  • What BS

  • More people die from trazers then police die in the line of duty. Do the research.

  • The taser is what killed them. Did they drop dead from the drugs or did they drop dead after getting tased. So you drop dead pig!

  • Drop dead?

Ooooo, you really put me in my place!

  • un addition not all the people where on drugs either you PIG

  • Pig? That's the best you have?

And nowhere has a taser killed anyone. Facts are hard to deal with for some obviously!

  • actually there has been some cases were people were tased and killed one man was tased and died after because he had a pacemaker and the taser made his pacemaker stop it fried it and also if you have a bad heart and dont have a pacemaker it can still kill the person because think of this when someones heart stops how do they bring them back to life with an eletrical shock starts the heart but in the same way can stop a heart too

  • Actually, there have been NO cases were someone was killed because of the taser. The cases you refer too have been debunked. The pace maker was not fried (besides, how are the police to know if a combative suspect has a pacemaker) as its circuits were fine. A bad heart will not be effected by a taser and Taser has paid exactly 0 dollars in lawsuits!

The electric shock you speak of is exponentially higher in amps than a taser.

Learn something about tasers before you opine so foolishly!

  • You stop making such ridiculous claims.

That is twisted PIG think. You idoits are brainwashed control freaks that are corrupt as HELL! Pig licking asshole

  • Ridiculous claims?

I guess facts are a hard thing for you to get around.

PIG think? I see originality and independent thought escapes you!

  • @GiveMeLiberty59

You are waaaaaaaaaaaay off on this one... Depending on where you get your numbers it is anywhere from 5 to 1 - 3 to 1 officer deaths to taser related deaths. Even if the number was what you say it is, only unhealthy, drug induced criminals are dying, so who gives a flying fuck??? Also if you look at how many lives and injuries the taser saves, the benefits far outweigh the so called negatives.

  • after looking some videos like this ... i must say , if you visit america you should try to get a gun. sorry dudes, but in your country things seems like this: if i not kill the policemen, he will kill me. a reason will he find very fast and nobody cares about.

  • These are extremely rare cases. Most cops are very good people. However, its rare that a story of cops doing good becomes news, because someone dying makes a better news story than someone being saved. Furthermore, everyone in our country is allowed a gun. For the citizen, this is a good thing. But imagine yourself a police officer: You don't know who is good or bad, anyone could be carrying a weapon that could kill you instantly. Most cops join to serve humanity for the better.

  • i don't think so. this is one problem: everyone can wear a weapon. it has a real good reason why in europe is not like this (we have police brutality too, but maybe in relation 1 to 1000).

it's like the domino effect. if my neighbour has a weapon, who should i know if he it's a good one or not? so i bought myself a weapon too. and so on. your police mens are very sensibilize and nervous.

guns kills, even if he saves lifes in the same time.

  • It's because Liberty and Freedom are dead in America

  • anyone remember rodney king? "can't we all just get along?" none of those pigs were fired....put on leave. America needs a good riot around this bullshit. the government should fear the people, people should not be afraid of their government. after all, there's more of us than it is of them.

    "2, 4, 6, 8,........."

  • Why the fuck do the cops always get a suspension? These cops killed a person! They deserve to be fired at least, or better put in jail. I don't want these violent motherfucking pigs to be protecting me and my family!

Where is the justice? What the fuck happened to our world?

  • they were put on paid administrative leave! how disgusting! a human lost his life because of PIGS.

They should be SHOT not put on paid holiday (AKA - paid administrative leave)

  • five fuckin cops couldnt take down one guy, they had to taser him, why is it everytime cops fuckup they try to makeup execuses to get out of it, bunch of fuckin pussies, they only act tough when no one is looking

  • i hate to say it.. but isnt it obvious that they did take him down?? lol seriously think b4 u say shit..

  • "leave"...i would stand these cops in line and shoot them in the head lmao :p

  • Steve....

You aren't man enough to kill ants you fucking retard.

You'd end-up getting assfucked and then shot in your inbred face.

    Moron...

  • you're such a dumb fuk...go fuk your daddy's pole while i bang your mom lmao :p

  • It's obvious you're just an ass-baby who was shat out over a toilet.

You've probably had a few cops ass-fuck yourself, or various or numerous family members with a baton...

  • it's obvious you are a stupid fuk...as i stated go fuk your daddy's pole while i bang your mom lmao :p

  • I know a guy who wanted to be a cop since he was a 10 year old kid. but what really made me think was what he said just before he got acceptet into PD "I want go shoot somebody" it's not word for word but that was what he meant that was also last moment when i cosidered him my friend

Most cops are deep down inside just as violent as the criminals they try to control but what bothers me is that they get away with murder

example: murder in Vancouver Canade at the airport

    taser was used

  • have you assholes ever heard of anyone else being killed with a taser? pull your heads out of your asses and listen up. obviously this idiot was doped out on drugs.. why no one doesnt say anything about this is beyond me. anyways with the heart rate already beating high, the jolt from the taser caused his heart an overload. whoever the medical examiner was i hope they lose their job because they did not do it right, no one has ever died from a taser being done right.

  • problem is : tasing the guy 5 time in a row for at least 30 sec. is not right buddy.

there where 5 case of taser death by police oficer in canada

  • bratwerstninja must be a cop! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

  • Well that brings up a good point, you've already critiqued your own comment.

That's exactly right: people are often intoxicated, on meds, or stressed, when they are confronted by police. This is a fact, which can't be controlled by the police: people do drugs, take meds, which make them more physically vulnerable. Shouldn't this be taken into consideration, when chosing methods of dealing with the general public, especially the use of a weapon which sends a large voltage through someones body?

  • lots of ppl have died from tasers

  • another case of police murder

  • And the police are punished with paid vacation. Fucked up aint it?

  • @Nymbler Welcome to America a "Free" country

  • @Nymbler yes sir.

  • I saw some of this this incident happen, as I was stuck in traffic next to it. I saw them drag him out of his van at gun point. Didn't seem as though he was any great threat from what I saw. I only heard afterwards that he died. Sad.

  • Just researched this some more. The guy was found to have numerous drugs in his system including cocaine and anti-pshycotics. That certainly puts a different light on things.

    Still a sad event though.

  • Good for you for getting more info on the situation. Too many people comment without knowing the whole story. In this case, I agree...it IS really sad! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP ON USING DRUGS ILLEGALLY?????

  • TASER International is having autopsy reports changed.

So it's not just Propaganda(renamed Public Relations).

  • His last words were

    "DONT TASE ME BRO"

  • No kidding, you don't know what happened out there, and you other guys are shitheads and know nothing about or even related to law enforcement therefore your opinions do not matter. Way to play Monday morning quarterback. But hey we need you guys too! If you weren't for you guys we wouldn't have jobs (arresting, citing, chasing you guys) and people to taze! ;-) Thank you for the job security!

  • Not to worry mnp71 America will crumble soon enough and I will thank you for your hard work to do just that.

  • Well looks like he got what he had coming to him. He shouldn't have pissed off the Minnesota State patrol!

  • This is bullshit, cops kill a guy and get a paid vacation. Fucking bullshit.

  • Uncooperative=didn't kiss the pigs ass, I'll bet.

  • The use of a taser to gain compliance is torture under international law. Facts are facts. Look up the definition of torture and the UN's findings on such weapons.

This is a clear case of manslaughter.

  • Tasers, the favorite toy of the confrontational, arrogant cop (which actually describes about 95% of all cops). With a taser, they don't have to actually do their job and get their hands dirty-"If a citizen/victim argues with you, just tase their ass!" A cop I knew got out 'cause the attitude among his fellow cops was "go out and create situations where you get to use your taser"-cops are a bunch of psychotic, controlling bastards who find their self worth in making others suffer.

  • Next time some fine upstanding dirtbag mugs you or, God forbid, someone you care about I hope you tell the responding officer/deputy exactly how you feel about him. Then maybe you can have a taste of taser in exchange for your disregard for their willingness to put their lives on the line for your worthless ass.

  • Nice attempt at fear tactics adambigge. I don't need the gangsters(cops) help.. I can take care of myself. I've been on the toughest streets in my city surrounded by drug dealers and gang bangers and I felt quite safe.

adambigge, stop projecting your cowardice on others. You are the dirtbag.

  • I am sure you are very tough. Really. Maybe you could volunteer to protect people. Oh, you only care about yourself and your small part of the world? Thought so. Why are you so angry? Did the government cancel the social program you were living off of?

  • If I go to a concert and there is a mosh pit I do the informal volunteer security or at bars when I'm out.

I've never lived off a social program. If I need stitches I use a needle and thread. But like I say America doesn't value life. It's survival of the fittest here in America. That's the reason for the crime. You can't have the government and police not to value human life and expect civi's to.

  • Well, I really can't argue about the government valuing life because for the most part they don't. It is a numbers game for them. It sucks but it is true. So I agree with you there. But I think America as a whole does value life (civilians and law enforcement) You always get a few people from each group that make the rest look bad. Unfortunately those are the ones who get the most press. I just can't countenance people that condemn an entire group based on limited observations and no research.

  • So don't rag us in public service too much. The senator on the hill or even the mayor in his office might not give a shit if someone in your neighborhood gets shot or if your entire friggin block burns down but we will be out there trying to keep both from happening. Even if we have to take shit from people that don't understand how our job must be done in order to protect the most people.

    Enough.....

  • The tempers cool down and you turn out to be a good person Adam. I can imagine how stressful it can be day in and day out seeing society at it's worst, with the only people happy to see you being those that dialed 911. I've seen much myself.

I'd of been arrested for what I said in public after seeing these 2 videos

    watch?v=CW1ovfuImYU

    people are defending it too.

    watch?v=h_mG2n7FhkI

  • I think that the biggest issue in high crime areas is a lack of community. The good neighbor networks that often prevent problems are non existent. It seems we need to try other things too. 23% of the worlds prison population is in America and yet still we lead in crime. Government seems to only see two solutions, more laws or more police.

Also if traffic stops were not a direct source of revenue you'd get less crap.

  • Also notice that even with the title "attitude adjustment" there are no disparaging comments.

    watch?v=SzjbeWdFWmg

This is a well done arrest with a taser. Good engagement and voice control. Notice how he slides from a tense voice(matching the suspects state) to a calm voice with the relax command(leading to the desired state). Great communication. A persons emotional state and tone of voice communicates more then the words they use.

    The officer developers good rapport.

  • Well at least there is a little common ground on this issue. I think that the issue is not the tool but the person using it. There are good people and bad people in every occupation.

P.S. I weigh 155 lbs soaking wet thank you very much. And on the FD they don't call guys like me chihuahas...we are called "attic rats". It seems it is easy to stuff us into small spaces that no-one else wants to go into. Good times...

  • Seems as though cops are always bitching about how they are in such danger all the time, and that they need more tools to enhance their own personal safety - so they were given the taser - if these cops are that afraid of breaking a nail, they should find a different profession!

  • It isn't "breaking a nail" you TOOL. It is getting bitten, cut, stabbed, or otherwise contaminated by bodily fluids that could give us aids, herpes, Hepatitis, or any number of diseases. Not to mention the possibility of getting killed while trying to protect the rights of the dirtbag getting arrested. You have no clue what those of us who have worked in Law enforcement go through. I will take a taser over being sprayed, clubbed, or shot.

  • So turn in your badge and go hide under your bed coward.

Cowards shouldn't be LEO's and nor should the sadistic SOB's you protect. The procedures were written by pathological ling cowards to benefit their kind.

  • Your agressive attitude and poor spelling illustrate the type of person you really are. No one takes you seriously. You know that right? Have fun playing at being the guy who rages against authority and insulting people who risk their lives for you. Kinda funny, you call people cowards but aren't willing to do the job they volunteer for. HMMMM.....

Me smells a little boy that got too many time outs and not enough spankings....

  • Don't delude yourself into thinking you are risking your life for me. What are you like 140-150 soaking wet? A Chihuahua with a Napoleon complex.

I hate working with your type. Little sadistic fags.

I've had to contain my fair share of riots started by little pissers. Security shouldn't be for the insecure, hyped up on delusions.

You'd probably wet yourself doing security in some of the clubs I've worked. No tasers in NY.

Mad because you resemble our remarks micro man?

  • Listen to the reporter emphasize that it is a "stretch to say that the deaths are a direct result of taser use". You gotta know that he's being told by the police commissioner what to say. Dozens of otherwise completely healthy people have died within hours (sometimes less) of being tased, and yet the cops are trying to make everyone believe that the deaths are not a result of tasers being used. Ha! Hold these arrogant, power-hungry idiots accountable for the murders they have committed!

  • Bullcrap. Find some proof. Many people Who have died after being tased were on something. And what's up with you lil' hard-on for the cops? Got something in the closet it seems...

  • 280rx8 here is a video with a happy ending.

    watch?v=rgqrt67CP7U

  • Here we go again - another victim of police brutality pronounced dead immediately after being tased (tortured) by a trooper! Just as in the incident in Utah (where a man was unnecessarily tased by a highway patrol officer in front of his wife and young child, it seems as though police are just hoping for the chance to use their tasers, searching for opportunities to confront innocent victims and electrocute the hell out of them. Take tasers away from cops before more people die!
