@Viewthrutrees It was 1971 man, who cares about camera and sound quality. It shows one of the earlier performances before Kraftwerk. It has historic value. Go somewhere else to postulate your cynicism
Nobody wanted to play with them as they was using sound processing techniques that made their music misunderstood by many. But dude, does this sound cool or what?!
If you need proof that it is Kraftwerk, just see the road cone at stage center, the emblem of Kraftwerk over their first three albums. I'm glad that Ralf Hutter rejoined as I see him as the one who gave Kraftwerk their direction.
this is totally Kraftwerk (NEU! was formed at the end of 1971 and the beginning of 1972), Ralf has left the band for a short time in 1971, and this videoclip is the only known performance without Ralf, besides a show for Radio Bremen.
This aweinspiring Krautrok! So many artist of the last 30 years or so owe these guys some props - this tune sounds like the inspiration for half of the Death in Vegas catalog (which I love!)
Ralf Hutter had left the band at the time. He and Florian had a falling out, which led to Florian continuing the band without Ralf for a short time. This lineup did one tour and recorded a studio album that was never released. Then Ralf came back, and Dinger and Rother went off to form Neu.
TIL Howard Stern used to be in Kraftwerk

Great camera and sound quality. Boring garage jam session. Be real.
Florian turned to electro because they needed a change.

I am only new to Kraftwerk.
I heard about them in the late 90's and always thought they were formed in the late 90's.
Little did I know these guys were doing their thing way back when Jim Morrison was alive and the Doors were at their peak!!!!!
Like I said, I'm new to these guys and am getting into their "werk"!!!!!
