I'm almost 17 years old and I'm learning this piece, I admit it's really hard but still I'm about to finish its soon. I'm planning on starting recording my self to get some feedback.
And I really liked the way u played it, beautiful!
Since this is my favourite piece, I've heard over a hundred interpretations of it -some great ones (Michelangeli, Gavrilov, Moravec), but not a perfect one yet. Most pianists don't play it the way I like it.
I don't know if you're a professional, but I really liked yours -it's easily in my top25. Congratulations from Athens, Greece.
Thank you very much. You play that difficult Etude Op.10? Hope you'll have time for the Ballad too.
I used to have a lesson for this piece when I was a student. I even play it after that from time to time. This is one of the pieces where the more I play it, the more I fall in love with it.
excellent! I play this too and you play it just like my teacher told me to play it too....and my teacher was a finalist at the Chopin competition :)))
Very impressive performance, although you almost crashed at the running notes on 5:56. Fortunately you managed to continue on. Hope I could play as good as you, attaining that kind of speed. I'm about 30 secs behind u. LOL
Thank you very much. Controlling tempo is a difficult issue to me. Once I have a mismatch between how the piece should be played in terms of its construction and the temp that I'm aiming at, I would then need strong mind later on. Maybe I also need luck? Well, I need technique for sure. I wish us both luck for our wonderful renditions of Ballad!
Thank you for your kind comment. The more you spend time for piano, the longer your way ahead of you becomes! That's the fun part though. I will try my best to hang in there to stay on that long way. I hope both of us will find happy campers along the way!!
mmmm so much expression and colour, I wish I could play anywhere near as well. I can only imagine how many hours a day it must take to play so eloquently, but the result is pure magic.
I wasn't even aware of the Ballades until 'The Pianist', but after hearing the music and reading the score it's amazing how complex and demanding it is. What shines out to me is how you tackle the concurrent octaves with your right hand, how you can bring a whole change in colour and tone with just an ascending arppegio. I better stop, but just one more thing, my absolutely favourite part is at 4.43, you play those octaves (again!) in such a big warm triumphant flourish, it's just very special.
Thank you for your very interesting comment. I am very happy to receive it. Although I've never seen the film "The Pianist", this piece has become very popular because of this film.
4:43 you pointed out is perhaps the portion that I like the most. The same melody appears before this; however, this portion involves more feelings, so I tried to express that difference. Besides this, there are various expressions in this piece. It was difficult for me to wrap up those different expressions. Thank you very much for your comment.
I leke your playing very much!
I feel the heart from your playing.
I agree with @SofiieeWinter,this is one of best performance.

Thank you for your comment. This was recorded in Tokyo in 1999. I like this piece very much, and it will be my test piece for the rest of my career.
