i wish i had got the subaru SVX i wanted :/ that thing would have run forever, well except the bearing problems they're known for. but regardless thats nothing compared to the problems iv'e had with this damn dodge neon -_- i haven't even had it a year and iv'e spent at least $1200-$1500 in repairs and maitnance on it. and thats a low guess
LOL, awesome! i remember when my 92 legacy hit 200,000 and then 300,000, it was awesome and i never had to do a thing but change the sparks plugs, change the oil, it was set until it was totaled. I really wish i could find another 90's legacy that is a manual! all i've found is Automatics or ones that are way too much for the age of the car and problems!
this just proves that foreign cars can run for higher milage than most american cars, as long as maintain them on a regular basis ex. chang oil, keep all fluids up to date and so on congratulations
@rsxzx6r we americans love to abuse our cars too :) it's more from the economy... we'd rather just buy a different car than keep fixing the old one (although not as true anymore)
im american too....lol....i just prefer foreign cars....not cuz i just like foreign cars....but cuz they r built better...i never liked the interior of american cars....in my price range that is....cadillac have nice interiors...but i cant afford them....so i have options...between cavalier..and civic...based on reviews...civics last longer and are better built....
I had a '92 Legacy 2.2 4wd wagon (JDM), didnt get any footage when it hit 200,000km, but got some shots when it hit 222,222km lol... ...ownership ended when a few months later when the steering, and the engine packed up simultanously - still a good car though!
I have loved both of the subarus I had.. had a 92 & 94 Legacy and sold both to friends a few years ago and both still running w/minimal maitnance and both are still going with 250k+ miles on them!!
I've since sold my too (to the guy who helped me change the Forester engine). He said they drive it daily with over 220K on it and he hasn't put a wrench on it other than to change the oil!
Hi. How long have you had your legacy?? Do you consider it to be of good quality?? I am considering one as my next purchase and would greatly appreciate your opinion or anyone else's for that matter. Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.
My 1995 Legacy just had an idle pulley sieze and I thought that I had ruined the engine. :( After $800 repair (timing belt, camseals, pulleys, etc) it runs great. It has 192000 on it. I hope to get 250000. Where I live (New Engalnd) subarus are everywhere.
My 97 Outback is presently at 170,000 and still cooking. I figure another year and It will get to 200000 that's if i don't sell and get the 2005 Legacy GT with the 250 hp engine. Great cars Love the STI"
Subies are the best!!! I'm a proud owner of a 92 Legacy L sedan with 220,000 miles on it, it burns just a little oil on cold starts but other than that. . . . purrs like a kitten!!!
I remember when my first cars odometer rolled over to 300000, wish I had a camera then. Shortly after, the friggin brakes fell off. No exxagerration. The caliper on the front left FELL OFF and snapped a line. Damn Honda.

@rsxzx6r Take a trip to your local junkyard sometime. Plenty of American-made vehicles over 200k that were involved in collisions.
My father owned a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier. Threw a rod at 261,000 miles.
ahanix1988 1 year ago
They r in the junkyard for a reason.....JK...im sure that there are alot of long lasting american cars......just more long lasting foreign ones...

@rsxzx6r how do you think I feel? I drive an American '96 and the dashboard is a carryover of the original design from 1972.
Way too much cheap plastic in American cars

im seriously about to start thinking that all subaru drivers are fucking faggots.

thats stereotyping....do all southern people fuck their cousins?...

I am so doing this when my '98 Forester hits 200K. Of course, that'll be in 70K miles, but hey, a guy can dream.

A guy should plan ahead! Can't wait to see it in 70k dude

It's a Asian car company - Subaru is owned by Fuji Heavy Industries based in Japan however, the Legacy is made in Lafayette, Indiana.

No turbo, but it's AWD. The turbos are pretty quick. I'd love a turbo. Maybe I'll get a newer WRX...with only about 150K on it ;)
