  • Perfekt...

  • Bellissimo questo kata. io lo facevo 4 anni fa...lo adoro..

    peccato che ho smesso...=(

  • Just a question - before dropping to the floor near the beginning, there are only 3 cover/gyakuzuki's, where everwhere else I have seen there are 4. was this deliberate?

  • you guessed wrong retard i don`t respect criminals and why the fuck would i purposely go too prison to have someone teach me how to kill you reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetarded foooool

  • I don't know about that, mogali. Seems you are the one with a retarded speech impediment. Call me insensitive, but at least I can spell "retard." "reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetarded"? what is that?

  • Kickboxing and MMA are sports. Why does a muay thai player win in the ring? you must be retarded not to realize that they win because the sport they play is... muay thai. You expect a tennis player to win a badminton game, just because of tennis skills? My friend, educate yourself before you commit to and argument. Or please just piss off.

  • if youre that kind of guy, then its a bloody good thing people like you are staying well away from real martial arts. i dont do karate like i said, but as a martial artist i respect it, and its practitioners. same goes with boxing/muay thai/everything.

your teachers would be ashamed of your conduct.

  • like i said, get youself locked up in prison, and ask that hench rapist to teach you how to correctly beat people up. on the way, he will probably teach you how to kill a man with your bare hands. happy? good.

if you want a really practical martial art, nothing better than whatever criminals use to kill people with. i guess those are the sort of people you respect - im sure theyll be glad to teach you.

  • you learn a kata it teaches you correct posture allignment breathing techique accuracy yes yes very good done that now get in the ring! oh no its not just about fighting blah blah blah heard it all before karate crap

  • By the way mogali, Martial arts isn't about killing someone. The better fighter will stop the fight. Its about development. You want to defeeat somebody? Kick them in the nuts, draw a knife, shoot them with a gun! But karate isn't about that is it? Goddamn you little idiot. And what correlation does the ring have to whether someone can fight or not? Don't tell me you think kickboxing rules and boxing gloves emulate real life, that just makes me laugh. Ignorance. Stupidity. You have it all, twat.

  • i didnt say you use a kata in a fight

  • I've done this kata so many times, and im sorry to say it wasnt the best. I do goju ryu karate, and I dont know if their unsu is the same as goju ryu's, but some moves are different. If you ask me, he needs to be more graceful in his movements, being tense like that doesnt make it look good. What he needs to do is have more flow and polish up his movements. But I guess it was ok.

  • im a boxer and i think tkd sucks a karate sucks thouse punches can be blocked and the kick too thats why nobody uses it in the ufc there not effective aganst other arts like boxing tai boxing or kick boxing or even grapling

  • fuck all you boxers, 1st of all kata isn't for fighting, its for demonstating mastery of form, technique, and breathing. 2nd of all you boxer fags are the most fun to fight, ive done shotokan for a long ass time and the people i knock out most in MMA tournaments are cocky ass boxers

  • mm ubersome im doing tkd too so i never liked karate either till i saw this ;). but then i saw the comments that these other idiots left and that just like brought my respect level for this style down even lower than it started, looking at them argue about crap. this guy had an impressive form tho.

  • those capricious bastads sitting at home saying "lol that no hit me on d strit mans" are missing the point. MA in this day and age does not exist simply for the purpose of street fighting. if ur looking for a fight, then u dont understand the meaning of MA. there are MAs for aggro ppl like you, and karate isnt one of them. Go learn from a prison inmate or something. From what I see, karate is just so much more than the agro "killing art of murder" that u wackos so sorely crave.

  • I do TKD so i know karate sucks (lol joking) i respect karate as much as i do TKD. up til now, ive only had reason to be impressed by kyokushin, but now ive seen a demo of shotokan, i appreciate the power and control of this branch of karate also. that technique at 1:30 was truly surprising. i didnt know traditional karate had room for showing off :D

  • bix feio o nordeste

  • ps im not a sifu and i did shotokan for five years

  • Your a fucking mug mate i've done Shotokan for twenty years so you know jack shit. Go and study properly before you slag it off and for your information the kata is performed in this way for body dynamics it helps with your breathing and technique course you wouldnt fight like that can't believe you even put that down and the bit about evasion ha ha you are a sad twat.

  • Its hard to imagine anyone EVER performing that kata with such control and yet here it is!.Great video clip thanks for sharing it on here

  • air doesnt hit back -_-

  • And watching Bruce Lee movies doesn't make you a better martial artist.

  • why not, your lieing

  • so wont you

  • Nice Unsu! I would like to see him in kumite

  • Has anyone ever heard of Sho Rei Ru? Did it years ago before kids. Loved it! =)

  • very good

    very nice show for karate

    congrulations

    bolu turkey

  • That kata was very well performed. Speed, power and technique were excellent - a very good example of a karateka.

  • not so good

  • I have black belt in Karate:P I'm doing Ju Jutsu now... green belt

  • Have trained in Wado for 17 years so I admit to being unfamiliar with this kate. However he perfomrs it very well. Sharp powerful and focussed. Very impressed!

  • Some peoples comments on here do make me laugh. The guy has performed a Kata and he has done it very well, yet you get all the d*cks saying "oh that wont work in the street" or "id kick his ar*e" F*ck sake lighten up and appreciate the art. Seriously if you havent done a martial art or have just read books then dont come up with cr*p like that

  • karate bullshit i got started on once by a karateka you wanna watch out mate i do karate smack smack shame he didnt know i do kungfu tosser

  • Cor your tough i bet your teacher is really proud of you.

  • the chinese taught the japenese some kungfu the japs didnt understand how to use proper body mechanics when executing there moves lost the plot started using strength which is not what martial arts were originally designed for and called it karate end of story ;)

  • And then you woke up and saw your pants were all wet.

  • Oh sorry sifu let me bow down to your worldy wisdom. What a crock of shit. Karate like Kung Fu when performed correctly is relaxed with the emphasis of tension at the finishing point of the technique. What the kata again and stop talking bollocks

  • bullshit ive watched it loades of times theres tension though out the whole of the body all the way through and how many different applications are there for each move id suggest one and thats it,and you stop inbetween each technique bit silly really considering in a real fight your moving aroung all the time evading! oh yeah you guys forgot about evasion too didnt you :)

  • you're pretty stupid.

  • omg thats fast as hell!!

  • OUS!! nice UNSU.

  • That was nice dude, I'm a 2nd Dan in Taekwon Do. I enjoyed that. Well done.

  • I thought shotokan could shoot fireballs. Ha no, that was really good.

  • who is that??

  • kuykushinkai is the most powerful karate I think

  • this is shotokan !!!! the old one

  • I wish I could do that :D

    I will pretty soon though.

  • very good kata, makes me feel like starting Karate over again.

  • very good

  • Very good Kata... Unsu is beautiful, well done!!!!

  • Beautiful. I never got very high up (2nd Kyu, I think, but don't quote me), but I can still recognize the style of Shotokan, if not the exact kata.

...that's it. I'm going back to Karate. I never even got past the second Heian kata, let alone anywhere near this guy.

  • impressive kata Welldone i traind in many forms of marshall arts il show you all a video of mine sometime

  • I agree, this guy is fast and this is just an art or sport if u may say, so all u guy talking shit , pls respect the act . Anyway I love the moves and dude is fast too , I do martial art also so I appreciate the KATA.

  • Biscuits, you say you would gauge his eyes out, poke him in the ribs and throat etc.. how do you expect to get close enough to him after he has punched you in the face 20 times before you even knew about it (look at the speed of his moves)

So sick of people making retarded comments on martial arts videos. Just enjoy it for what it is, a KATA and a very nicely done one too. No this isnt a streetfight but that doesnt mean the guy CAN'T fight.

Have some respect for someone elses art please.

  • wow, you're my hero, I couldn't have said it any better!

  • Biscuits26, real karate is not to be used in a simply streetfight... it is too dangerous. Try to find what means "ikken hissatsu", that´s karate. Regards...

  • Yeah if some 5 people attacks you and you use this kata (whatever it is =p) you wouldent freeze right? no lol

  • biscuits26 has seen karate eh? Karate is a general term for many styles. There are some damn good karate systems (if taught correctly) and some pretty poor ones. Even good karate taught poorly is a waste of time. Then to say kunf fu is superior! One in three people on the planet are Chinese. Where are all the Chinese champions in boxing, karate, taekwondo, MMA or any other fighting system?

  • That was an excellent kata. I've seen my dad do a similar one, but that one was nice.

  • well thats fine and dandy but ive seen karate and it is in many ways not as practival as Kung fu. Kenpo is great and so is Judo for say a one on one sort but over all id say Karate is not as paractical as other martial arts out there. its too fancy and most of its kicks are not very painful or in my opinion useful, too much time and brute strength to do one preoperly.

  • does any of karate really have a use in a street fight? i mean i dont care who u are ( except shaolin monk of course) if i kick u in the balls, gouge yur eyes out, fish hook, hit u in the throat, break your fingers, you are going down

  • well...um...it was pretty but...what are any of those moves good for? his motor skills must be pretty good and thats it. this stuff, sorry to say, doesnt work. none of those moves could be used in a fight on the street. maybe some of those movements could work if explained to me but when u think about, the biggest, strongest guy in the world would fall if i broke his pinky or crushed balls, ripped his eyes out, broke or pulled out his floating ribs.

  • sorry if i had to say that.. but.. the technic wich is shown here is not very good... if i suppose it right i think that there have to be more targeting and more power than only show

  • although i don't practice karate, i gotta say that his moves are sharp.

  • O.o is this Shotokan? Never seen it at my club... This looks great by the way, love it ^^

  • I´ll tell you, the first time I watched this video ,there was some moves I couln´t see, he's fast enough to ko someone in few seconds. Yeah!

  • I do shukoki karate but this guy is ace

  • Wow that guy was quick. I'd love to learn a martial art but have a bit of a fear of going out at the moment. Is there a way I could learn on the internet?

    Thanks.

  • ah i remember now its unsu!

  • well i have to say this guy nailed the jump! lol i do fudoshin shukoki karate alot faster and chalenging that shotokan but i have 1 question ive done this kata before and im wondering what is its name?...i forgot lol anyway can any1 give me any tips on nailing the jump aswell as htis guy?

  • Clean and crip, nice looking kata. Love those kicks from the floor at the start.

  • I sure do miss this....I did shotokan for 9 years and this is the last kata I learnt....

  • i play karate and i think kata is the must amportnt thing in karate

its help u be faster and powerful and better

  • its tae queer do

  • what style of karate is this?

  • Shotokan is one of the tags, so I assume that to be the case.

  • My god those strikes are fast...

  • execelent jump...but some shortcuts were noticed

  • That is just awesome ;)

  • That dude is awesome, love the quickness

  • well i do karate (shotokan) which concentrats on kata i agree that yeah its pointless for self defence but what it can do if what crimeRD06 said strenth ect

  • Echt gut gemacht! Respekt!

  • Kata simulates fighting, so in a sense it would help. I've done karate for 6 years now and the balance and concentration it takes to do it is amazing. Katas teach you about movemont, how to turn toward an opponent and how to counter his movement, balance, technique, timing, concentration, strength, awareness and agression. The list could go on.

If you think someone outside using karate would go at that speed and such direction, you're taking Kushininja too literally.

  • Yeah it can be deadly, if your opponent is stiff and behaves the way you want him to! Bruce Lee already said, that fighting has to be fluent - Katas are just stiff and useless! If you consider them as deadly, you are just wrong! I did Karate for 15 years - so I know what I am talking about!

  • yea, im sure you know what your talking about. hmm lets see, kendo isnt fluid either, yet its considered one of the best swordsmanship techniques. i guess now bruce lee is the all knowing? perhaps not

  • thats a very nice kata

  • For those of who ask all these questions, in kata competitons it's just like any other competition, you have red and blue for the two opponents. That's why he's wearing a blue belt.

And it's not true that katas are useless in "real life" the speed and precise movement you aquire through repeating katas over and over and perfecting them, can be deadly.

  • The belt doesn't matter. Its only there to keep the "uniform" (i dunno what its called in english) together. He is so fast xD Very nice !

  • i love this kata and you did well but.... i need to ask is that bule belt your wearing ??

  • Nice Kiai!

  • u learn it because it is almost like a show of how good you can be. martial is the fighting serious side

but arts is the kata, show of side thats why u learn it

  • so love it much

    this kata good

  • Absolutely amazing! You performed Unsu very well!

  • amazing Form!!

  • hahaha i used this kata once before and manage to get state no1. i love this kata the most. but that is 11 years ago. i dun even know if i can do the 360 + 180 degree jump anymore. one of the hardest kata

  • He does his job with passion - but Katas are so unflexible - that it is just useless in a free fight! So looks good but has no effect in real life! So why learn it?

  • Muscle memory and targeting. You were told this at white belt, Bitching about katas doesn't make you sound tough.

  • Because the kata oyo contains a lot of very, very nasty stuff that's very proctical to real life. If you just learn the movements, and jump up and down, then kata is just dancing.. you have to study it to get to the meaning behind the movements.

  • nope. of course you're not going to stand there and be like hey man do a kick and do a punch, im going to do my kata and kick your ass. It's the techniques that we learn from the katas that are applicable in real fights. you're supposed to improvise and adjust yourself to the situation you find yourself in as they come, using the techniques you learned from the katas.

  • i was distracted by the length of your belt

  • mine is longer a bit then this one :D btw this guy have a nice jump which about 1 second fully on air. nice

  • cool

  • So full of fear and try so hard. But you are what you are.

  • kick ass. y'know i never took time to appreciate karate, the serene martial art. beautifuly done. kudos

  • Phillip, the idea is that in Shotokan, we keep basics, kata and kumite all equal. It's not entirely about self defence, and training like this improves free fighting anyway. Muay Thai is ok in that you learn to kick the living crud out of people but shotokan is more than that.

Good kata, rushed the four punches at the beginning, the second and third punches didn't seem to stop.

  • oss! very very very good!

  • Excellent technique, superb, power, speed- pity about his zanchin (sense of enemy), too much like a dance,- main failing being his late kiai at the finish. Zanchin is normally reduced in competitive or exhibition displays I find, gradings are where its at.

  • That was an excellent performance of the kata unsu.

  • Vwey good theres a version of it done by a german bloke hum might be french and thats amizing but very gd. oh the JKA does shotokan karate have alook at there website its well gd

  • nice performance of kata unsu.

  • Not good. He looks layman.

  • Terrific power and Kime. Was nice to see kata from a different style done and not look terrible.

    Congrats.

My only concern is the lieing on the ground part. Kata is supposed to represent an actual battle, and being on the ground in battle is generally not a good thing for a karate-ka.

  • this is the shotokan karate kata named "unsu". well done!:

  • Thanks for the name. I'd never seen this one.

  • awwww im glad to see there are still real shotokon masters in the world, brings back memories of the dojo, and it's still a awinspiring site to see the sensei performing the kata to mere perfection. oss

  • wow, awesome - razorsharp movement...

  • well ok... pretty nice.... was that JKA karate?

  • Nice one!!! Respect! (and it is shotokan)

  • Good KaTa...nice

  • uhh this is shotokan

  • Does shotokan have a different way of jumping in this kata than shito ryu?

  • NO Hadouken? How lame...

  • hi guys, what style is this?

    goju, shito, shoto, or kyokushin?

    thank you

  • this is shotokan

  • Nice

  • Very awesome unsu. Thank you for uploading.
