  • Wow, your incredibly talented. I sculpt myself, and have always been impressed with these BJD's. Although I have no interest in collecting them, I am tempted to make one myself. I think they're a very interesting collectable.

  • What are you using for the stringing? Is it the final stringing, or just to see how the body fits together so far? (I'd love to see a video on the final stringing.)

  • @ERIN478 hi, the stringing is to check how the joints are all working, its just a craft elastic i use when their still in clay so its not as strong as the doll elastic i use once thier cast. she is now finished and i forgot to get more video's of working on her, but i'll try and get a video of how she looks now all finished :)

  • good work! I think i missed something from video 3 to 4. After you sculpt the doll do you then add apoxy about the rim of each joint? Escuse my ignorance, what does the apoxy do? Is it to give strength to the doll w/o wearing down the clay? Do you sand the apoxy? pls respond

  • @TheSKYizFalling, hi, uh the video's dont really continue on from each other perfectly.... i often forget to do record my sculpting... but the epoxy is because i struggle to get the polymer clay smooth enough etc for how i want the jointing, it also tends to be too delicate for alot of the jointing (like knee's etc), so i use epoxy to refine and build jointing thats stronger and can be refined easier. i do sand the epoxy down, i rough in the shape then go over sanding it once its set.

  • @shelbelly Thank-you for taking the time to respond. Also, I love how your cat burst on the scene in your video-- too funny. Oh, I forgot to add how cool it is that ur taking the time to share how you create a bjd. Please keep it coming--peace.

  • Oh wow she looks amazing so far and really poseable yet the joints actually look good. <3 I'm also making a BJD though i'm not as far along as you are. Are you going to make a OOAK doll or are you going to cast them in resin and sell 'em? Either way great job so far!
