  • Simplesmente Maravilhoso!!!

  • I love the voice of Andrea. Smooth and full feeling. Warm. There is an AVE MARIA pop/rock version by JENNIFER RUSH the original singer of THE POWER OF LOVE. She sings with amazing voice. Wish Andrea and Jennifer will sing a duett 1 day. .

  • Is there a way to get just the orchestra and subtract the vocals so that I can practice?

  • He didn't finish the word Maria before I grew a lump in my throat :')

  • He's a master. Lovely voice, and from what I've heard, a lovely person.

  • Um...after reading the comments...Caccini was not a post Renn composer he was a transitional composer who had most of his career in the Renn Elizabethan Era and only his latter work was post.

  • @cloud9er Actually woyopol is absolutely right - this is not a Caccini work. It was written by a Russian guitarist and lutist Vladimir Vavilov in the 70s. For whatever reasons, he would often attribute his works to post-rennaissance composers, and did the same thing with this Ave Maria. Check out Wikipedia for more info.

  • Thumbs up for Lyse Agnes !

  • people stop asking why his eyes are shut!!!! he's blind. this is why his eyes always have been shut while singing. I dont see people asking why stevie wonder's eyes are shut while singin -______- such a stupid question. Just enjoy is music!

  • @FabDN41 That's probably the reason Vavilov was afraid to publish it under his own name and labeled it as "by anonymous" at his lute music record which was actually full of hoaxes. "Canzona by Francesco da Milano" was probably the most famous one. I remember how much time I spent trying to find it amongst Da Milano's pieces to figure out at the end of the day that it only exists at Vavilov's record :-)

  • Sorry but in this song Sumi Jo is better...

    But I like you Andrea;))

  • Amazing job with all the singing and what not.. But why are you closing your eyes i really dont get why your doing that... Are you trying to like embrace the 3:31 that this video takes place or something ???

  • @bondtwin11 Andrea Bocelli is blind!!! :O

  • WHY ARE HIS EYES SHUT. I DONT DIG?

  • @TheBiopaula You mean, Andrea Bocelli? He always closes his eyes when he sings because his vision is not totally clear as a result of an accident when he was still a player of football.

  • @Nonie46 He's actually fully blind.

  • @TheBiopaula because he's blind;|

  • @glup2glup it is Caccini

  • @priscila126 It's not a Caccini work. It was purposely attributed to him by a Russian composer Vavilov who wrote this aria in the 70s and would frequently attribute his works to dead composers. Initially - when the aria was published in the 70s - it was published anonymously, most likely to conceal Vavilov's identity given anti-religious sentiments in the Soviet Union. There's plenty of information online about this if you want to read more about the whole situation.

  • @okounev oh ok i did look this up a few times. thank you, i would have otherwise not known.

  • The Lord may forgive him!

  • now look, I'm the guy who likes the metal//emo bands, and this is one of the best things i've ever heard? Now thats amazing

  • This Ave Maria is not from Caccini but Vladimir Vavilov!

  • @glup2glup No, Vavilov was a faker and his recording of the piece was a musical hoax. It was composed by Caccini.

  • @Tim92G The other way around (well, almost). Vavilov couldn't get through the soviet bureaucracy (talent wasn't nearly enough there to be published, you would be made to prove your ideological reliability and/or you had to be well-connected in soviet elite), so he pretended to have "discovered" creations of baroque composers.

  • @glup2glup If it was Giulio Caccini who composed the song, why is it that the lyrics are incomplete? Ave Maria is the only lyric being repeated. There must be truth in the story that the composer of this song lives in a country with repressive authorities which does not tolerate freedom of conscience and religion.

  • Or the Lys Agnes version?! You owe it to yourselves to take a look and listen to this Powerful Young Singer. She was recently on America Has Talent oddly enough along with the usual dog and pony acts one would expect to see on a show like that. She truly is one rising star to behold. Please I would love to what you think of her.

  • @FabDN41 True, but as you said in your other post, there are two different themes here and too many question marks. I think your other posts summarize it nicely, not much to add. BTW - have you listened to Sumi Jo and Denyce Graves singing it?

  • @FabDN41 Good point. But the style of the piece really doesn't sound like baroque piece in style. I didn't see the Kern reference, only Vavilov. wiki is written by people, but it's also corrected over time and has references one can check. But you are right that one can't say for sure without a rigorous study. What is interesting is that there are no early recordings of this piece, pre-1970. Surely, if it were really written a long time ago, we'd see some older recordings?

  • @FabDN41 when someone told me that this was written by caccini, it felt weird, because the theme and variation style of this piece does not fit with something I would recognize as caccini. I don't know for sure, but I doubt it was caccini. this piece sounds modern....

  • @jeredkatiemckenna According to wiki "Caccini" Ave Maria was actually written by Vavilov, but is generally misattributed to Caccini.

  • @Samurai9 This aria is wrote by Vladimi Vavilov, of course.

  • Such a powerful song in this version. Love Bocelli.

  • What happened to the other Ave Maria of Andrea Bocelli in the same church? It dissappeared from youtube? It was my favourite one :/

  • Oh I love it no doubt....check this out and let me know if I have my facts correct

This song is actually written in 1970 by the Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov (1925 - 1973). He used to attribute and write contributions to dead composer, and thus dedicated this song to Caccini. Many mistakenly think Giulio Caccini (1545 - 1618) wrote the song. The 1987 recording made it world wide famous.

  • @jeredkatiemckenna

yup thats right. and he died in poverty also

  • Exelente

  • Bellisssssssssssssimo

  • love how this isn't actually caccini...

  • @jeredkatiemckenna Then why do you love it?

  • Andrea Bocelli is a great singer.

  • The most beautiful version of Caccini Ave Maria belongs to Francisco Araiza on YT, imho.

  • awesome!

  • o voce cu adevarat superba !! rar intalnesti asa ceva.. !! felicitari superb superb superb !!!

  • @FabDN41

Sorry, but the melody appears to be misattributed to Caccini. Apparently it was composed in the 1970s by Vladimir Vavilov and was strongly influenced by "All The Things You Are".

  • @pttrv

    You, sir, are an idiot.

  • @dimeterius Hm-m, what makes you think so?

  • Bocelli has flow

  • It's beautiful!

  • I love you, Andrea, marry me!

  • Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe! O, Christ, reign over us! Down with the lucifer!

    Krystian Konrad Moreński

  • Could you please post Sancta Maria, he sings that version also in the DVD

  • BEAUTIFUL VERSION. LIBERA'S VERSION IS AWESOME THOUGH

  • YOU MUST ALL SEE MY ACCOUNT

  • jah rasta blood clat man dis a cool tune

    bello!.

  • Heavenly.

  • Where is the emotion????

  • AVE MARIA !!! I repeat the great architect of universe, lucifer is dead!

    Krystian Konrad Moreński

  • AVE MARIA !!!

    Krystian Konrad Moreński

  • A little to much glissando for my taste, but I'm happy he doesn't really change the melody. Like others do sometimes.

    Beautiful.

  • Beautifully sung, no doubt.

But if you want real emotion, to pray and weep, then listen to Pavarotti singing Schubert (with Jose Carreras).

  • Now that is how you pay the rent!!

  • This "Ave" he's talking about must be pretty hot!

  • the 80 people that disliked this like justin bieber..

  • It is getting more widely accepted nowadays that the attribution of the 'Ave Maria" to Caccini is incorrect, a musical hoax. The earliest published version of this melody is traceable to a 1970 Melodiya label recording of lute music by Vladimir Fyodorovich Vavilov. However, an identical melody and chord sequence is also to be found in Jerome Kern's song, "All The Things You Are," written for the musical "Very Warm for May" in 1939.

  • Bravo!

  • Sumi Jo is the best with this song

  • Divino! Sencillamente hermoso. Una oración!

    Qué música y que director!

    El cielo!

  • Nice, but not a patch on the feeling in Sumi Jo's performance...

  • this version is simply beautiful, Aaron Neville's version is awe inspiring

  • That's Vavilov's music, not Caccini's!

  • @woyopol Are you sure it's not Caccini's?

  • wtf 77 thumbs down ... haters this is as close to perfection as i have heard

  • NON E' CACCINI!!!!!!!!

  • Search: Putri Ayu - Ave Maria....she's only 13 years old and she's good too...

  • Estupenda versión de esta increíble Aria. Bravo Andrea, Bravo...

  • Gracias Andrea....bravissimo.

  • i feel so honored to be able to sing this song with no mistakes. But his voice is what makes this song perfect

  • i feel so honored to be able to sing this song with mistakes

  • like the orchestra 1:48

  • @TecKt0MaNNN I totally agree, best part of the song imo! :)

  • You're both wrong - Ave Maria was composed by Franz Schubert in 1825!!

  • @destindave100 that's a different Ave Maria :)

  • @FabDN41 Vladimir Vavilov UGH

  • @keriah17 I just know you can even look at wikipedia or some other place you'll see it's not Caccini

  • It's an inspiring piece, but he sings it so much better on the CD, with much fuller power and greater passion.

  • If this were heaven ANdre would be the angel! Heavenly!

  • Beautiful song....It amazes me that there's only to words as lyrics and it still sounds so good :)

  • The composer is not Caccini it's Vladimir Vavilov I wish people would start getting it right.

  • @keriah17 too right my friend!

  • what can i say!!?? He is too amazing :)

  • Beautiful music. You can listen for hours!

  • What a gifted man wit such a beautiful voice... i mean its an agelic voice

  • I love his voice!! Strong and touching

  • che cattedrale e'???

  • I cry every time i listen to this..its done so beautifully

  • The deepest!! OMG...

  • A truely beautiful rendition by Bocelli, if you have the interest listen to the Libera choir sing Caccini's Ave Maria.....It takes your breath away....

  • splendid cathedral

  • @hetismij21 I wonder how ppl can watch a performance in a Catherdal. The last time i went to watch a guitar performance in spain, the echo is so annoying that i left before the concert end. Maybe this is a modified one for performance.

  • Normally, I love Bocelli, but I don't this key was very good. It's not exactly impressive, it sounds a bit like he neeeds to open up a bit more.

Still love the singer, but not this particular performance.

  • @AGirlNamedArthurPRO I doubt you have any idea what you're talking about. Don't criticise the voice of the millenium.

  • @BasketbaII6

Calm down. I don't see a thing wrong with my comment.

I'm just sharing my opinion, just as you have an opinion as well. I didn't even insult him at all.

And believe me, I've listening to enough of Bocelli's performances to know that this is not his best. And I've listened to enough renditions of Vavilov's Ave Maria to at least somewhat know the song.

I've never called myself a professional critic, nor do I claim to be now. I'm just sharing my opinion. So what if you don't agree?

  • @AGirlNamedArthurPRO And you tell me to calm down.. Are you going to rebuttal with another essay?

  • @BasketbaII6

Not at all. As you obviously aren't going to argue anything back, you've obviously realised you've no purpose in pursuing your point.

So you're obviously not worth my time.

  • @AGirlNamedArthurPRO First of all, don't make assumptions; it makes you look like an ass. Second of all, it's not worth my time arguing semantics.

  • @BasketbaII6

I am an ass, at least I can admit it.

And also, what the hell does semantics have to do with any of this? Gonna criticise my word choices?

  • @AGirlNamedArthurPRO I have nothing to admit. Were done here.

  • @BasketbaII6 Voice of the millenium? Oh sweetie, you're KIDDING, right? I love me some Bocelli, but not in this, and don't ever stand him next to Domingo. But it's cute you think so much of him.

  • @vanessafabulay I think it's cute how you try to shadow my personal opinion.

  • @BasketbaII6 thanks for the response

  • Not a very moving singing. His spirit isn't fully engaged, not profound. Sorry to say but this beautiful song is best rendered not by popular singers like Bocelli, but unknown singers, many of whom are on YoutTube .....such as Gubello, and Laskowska

  • @freeqwerqwer Yess... I think u r right.. Why it is??!! i don't ask. But probably this populer singers a litbit noisy :((( They think that thy r the best!>..

  • Caccini didn't compose this, but did he compose the version in G minor? (this version) Andrea Bocelli has a really great voice but I prefer hearing this sung by a woman, like Sumi Jo.

  • wach watch?v=TMF7cJnn-9E

  • i love it! (:

  • Comment removed

  • not too fast, not too slow, but filled with passion

  • Canccini's Ave Maria is the best version i think...

  • Beautiful

  • this isn't Vladimir Vavilov This is ANDREA BOCELLI hahahahaha

  • @RACCATTApalle91804 Yes, Bocelli is singing and Vladimir is a composer. You DB.

  • @manganime3 I do not understand what you mean.Perhaps you want to say that Vladimir sings better?

In this video sings Andrea Bocelli. What fault has Caccini? If some idiot, attributed to him, this sacred hymn.

  • @RACCATTApalle91804

You're so lost. Andrea Bocelli is singing in the video. Vladimir is a COMPOSER, which means he wrote the music, but some say that the music was actually written by Caccini. Therefore, no one ever said Vladimir was singing.

If you're still confused, feel free to say so.

  • @manganime3 I was just kidding , because that many comments refer to who composed the hymn

  • Nice rendition by a great Tenor!

It makes a great difference when it is sung by a woman, after all it was a woman that prays, and crys out to Mary.

  • ROFLMAO

    this isn't by Caccini!

it's by Vladimir Vavilov and is a musical hoax!

  • watch 'Ave Maria - Franz Schubert - tenor SF'

  • Awesome, blessing. A very nice song to the Holy Mother Mary

  • As sangiorz23 wrote in his comment, this Ave Maria wasn't written by Caccini. And I'm very annoyed that they still use to write this falseness (maybe even due to their ignorance)
