OMG i'm so jealous. If only i had 300ish to spare on that monster. I soooo miss the feeling of big scale lego models. Especially where you make big chunks that can take an hour or two each, and then putting that chunk onto the rest of it is like the icing on the cake. In this models case, it's pannels. Dang it lego, why you have to be so expensive!?!?!?!
i think it takes about 7 days to finish it because its very long time to fix the ship so i ready got that because my 4 friends help me to find the piece and put them together and i bring it to school show everyone and they said COOL Awesome dude its huge even the teacher saws it cause she thinks its big
I imagine it might be too delicate to move; so wherever you build this thing is where it's gonna stay! Next time I'm at the Lego store I'm going to pickup the box to see how much it weighs! By the way, what do you do with? There goes $500.00! Haha!
Actually, it's quite sturdy and can be carried with one hand by grabbing the center support structure through the top gun turret. But yes, it does weigh quite a bit at 25 lbs. I've moved it to my place of business and through a few office moves and have never needed to rebuild or repair any part of it.
As for price, it's a collectible and it's not outside the realm of possibility for it to appreciate in value after being discontinued. In the meantime, it's a great show piece. :)
Yes, true. The box is only about 2 feet long and well under a foot thick but the legos are PACKED in there. The box with everything (including manual) weighs almost 36 pounds. I believe the actual ship when completed weighs in at just under 29 pounds. For legos, that's one huge ass kit.

Alright, I am pretty sure this guy works as a part time "event staff" person under the table from the shirt he is wearing and the phone call he made to collect his unemployment benefits. He also has partial visitation of his kids as evident by his son popping in and out infrequently. GET A JOB!!!
My husband just finished building this set this morning. To the people crapping on about the imperial destroyer - it's tiny compared to this..no comparison. Ours is now taking up our whole dining table.
I am in the process of building this... I am at 4:30 in the video... Every time i build more of it i feel like i have no life... but in the end it will be worth it!!!
i wish i had one f thoes it would be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo coool
about 16 hours, the Imperial star destroyer took a professional 16 hours and it has 2000 less than millenium falcon so... he couldnt do it in 16 hours...
i build this lego in 3 days I think I am the one of the best on legos and this its so hard cause you cant found the pices now I think I am the best cause I have only 12 yers jajajaja so belive in my I have this lego ok :)
Dang man! I give you credit for building it so fast. I built my Star Destroyer, 3,000+, in a month and four days. Not total hours mind you but still you did this wicked fast!
OMG! after watching this movie i can say 2 things, i must have this build i thought 500 dollars for it was way to much but after watching how INCREDIBLE MASSIVE it really is i just have to say, why wasnt there lego builds like this when i was as old as the kid in the movie, speaking of which i think the father in the movie just kept on repeiting in his head "get the hell out of here" when he wanted to help, i know i would... i would totally be 10 again if i had that neat thing build 500 letters!
Awesome work! I'm a Lego-builder myself and love seeing creations like this. I know what you mean about poorly grouped bags. :P I hate that too. What I also hate are having built sections that love to collapse. I'm cursing so bad when that happens, especially when the Lego bricks don't stop collapsing and end up ruining the entire project.
The grouping was quite horrible. Nothing is numbered, just plain plastic bags. Parts were not grouped together well and often there were remainder pieces haphazardly placed in other bags. At about 2:00 i spend about a half hour searching for one of the pieces for the legs.
