I just finished watching Season 3 on DVD, and have taped the first episode of Season 4, which I have not seen yet. It has been a long time since a one minute scene in a show has made me jump, and say, "What the hell just happened?" I was a little concerned that Breaking Bad was going a little too far in a Sopranos-type direction, but Vince Gilligan and crew continue to surprise me.

This is the magic of post in all its glory. Think of what each shot looks like on its own. They would each be pretty bland. But add the post work and the scene explodes. The best pix editorial in TV yields perhaps the 4 best jump cuts in TV history as Jess crosses the street. The VFX of the car impact is PERFECT! The sound of Jesse breathing, is coherent all the way through. And the fucking color timing! It transforms the scene into a story of yellow/red (life) vs black (death). Hats off, guys.
