Good God. Replace "Encino Man" with " With Honors" and put "Gods and Monsters" somewhere in the top 3. He's terrrific in it and ignoring it is absurd. Thank you for going back and watching it again.
Are YOU people serious? This list is subjective and it's a matter of freaking opinion! George of the Jungle is more of a children's movie, so of course you ignorant saps would bash on it when a lot of people still enjoyed that movie. NOBODY else could have done George better for that movie...there was a 2nd George of the Jungle, but Brendan wasn't in it so it sucked. Also, the 3rd movie in The Mummy franchise I didn't care for, but the original was FANTASTIC.
personally I feel you could almost flip that backwards and it would be more correct, just my opinion, I also love winterbourne and theres a few other movies youve missed
The only one I agree with it;s placement is "The Mummy". I should have been followed by "Blast from the Past" at number 2....the dance scene alone, not to mention the non-fight with Nathan Fillon (Castle) are worthy of second place.
Have you seen all of Fraser's movies? It seems not - shame ... I recommend: 1. Extraordinary Measures 2. The Last Time 3. Gods and Monsters 4. Mrs. Winterbourne 5. Inkheart 6. With honors 7. Still Breathing ... I'm sure That you will change your mind and your top 10 will look different. Enjoy!
I fell in love with him in Mrs. Winterbourne. The tango scene with totally unbelievable love interest (Ricky Lake).:( Brandon all suited up looks galant.
monkey bones needs to be on here and george of the jungle sucked, but this is your opinions so let it be. still yet, monkey bones needs to be on here and george of the jungle sucked!
You literally went ass backwards on this: Bedazzled should be #1, Blast from the Past # 2, then School Ties # 3, Mummy # 4, and you didn't even put in Air Heads which should be # 5.
i remember there as a movie he was in where he was in a company and they were supposed to help fortify a fort and on the way they stopped by a river to get a drink and they got ambushed does anyone know the name per chance?
The more of his work (27 and counting) the harder it is to make keep the list down to ten. Still Breathing and Darkly Noon are also well worth seeing.
@1SallyMander1 If you saw more of his work you might have more respect for ability. I am in awe of his versatility and talent.
"Brendan combines incredible looks and sexiness and vulnerability with talent. And I mean serious talent. . . . He wasn't just a hunk, What really struck me was his fundamental core of decency." --Sherry Lansing quoted in US, August 1994
@1SallyMander1 each to their own. I think he's wonderful. If i wanted to amuse myself with bad movies I'd watch Ed Wood. Hard to imagine anyone could see Gods and Monsters & not find him brilliant. Sherry Lansing is an amazing woman.
"It seems when Brendan's acting in front of the camera, he's almost entirely the character, which allows a whole variety of things to go on in the the face which no one could plan." --"Gods and Monsters" co-star Ian McKellen quoted in NEWSDAY, November 12, 1998
@Jenchens No, see, that's the thing. I've seen everything he's done because I'm so amused by the fact that he has convinced himself he's decent at acting. I know his "work" very well and disapprove of it all. And you think I care about what Sherry Lansing says?? That's like me quoting:
"When it comes to laughably shitty cinema, no one does it like Brendan Fraser." - Marc Ecko quoted in his blog US, August 2008
Just saw Dudley Do-Right yesterday and was laughing all the way through. I'd put it fairly high on the list and above George of the Jungle for adults if not for children. It's almost as underrated as Monkeybone, and don't think I'm saying that just because I'm Canadian. You have to be in the right mood to watch it and I was. Have to get a copy for my DVD collection.
It's hard to compare films that are so different, but here's my tentative list: 1 the Mummy series 2 Gods & Monsters 3 Encino Man 4 Monkeybone 5 School Ties 6 With Honors 7 Mrs. Winterbourne 8 Blast from the Past 9 Bedazzled 10 Extraordinary Measures This should be a top 20 list which would include Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Crash and the children's movies like George of the Jungle. Wish I could have seen his Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. ( :
I guess many people didn't read the part in your description where it says :[IN MY OPINION] huh hahah man it must be tiring to get trolled on for that huh hahaha
Good choices. I can't decide mostly because I still have more to see starting with school ties. I hear some people have watched Mrs. Winterboune a hundred times so looking forward to that. Loved his performance in ecino man and it was great movie, but Rick O'Connel has much more sex appeal as a heroic character.
What no Dudley Do Right? Heard it was underrated...
I've never heard of Crash, but I've also never heard of With Honors either until now and apparently it's good. I will have to watch it some other time. I don't think all 3 Mummy movies should be part of the list.
great job on the list! i think the only one i haven't seen is "Crash" & i very much agree that "the Mummy" was the best, though on my list "George of the Jungle" might've placed higher, i LOVED that movie as a kid & that just has not changed
With Honors should be in the top 3. Can't take this list serious when "George of the Jungle" made it (HORRIBLE MOVIE), but "With Honors" didn't? And where's "Monkey Bone" What a joke!
Uh... where is the 2002 remake of "The Quiet American"? Brendan Fraser, Michael Cane... Where is 1998's "Gods and Monsters"? Fraser has done movies that aren't goofy comedic crap. Sorry, but your list fails without these two movies. If you like good films and Brendan Fraser, watch em (and bump The Mummy sequels from the top 10).
@jtluvssoccer Agreed, needs to be higher than mummy 3 or george of jungle. And where is With Honors? Definitely better than the before mentioned and journey to the center of the earth.
@jtluvssoccer Absolutely agree - was gonna say something to that effect myself. It's faaaar better than Bedazzled, waaaay better than George of the Jungle... Such a wonderful film.
I was havein a drink with him the other day in the bar and had no clue who he was bc i dont watch much movies and didnt belive my freand untell i just started watch his movies on youtube he is a very nice guy!!!!
ok 1 u can find the movie school ties on netflix and 2 i totally agree with that list even though i have only seen half and im going to see school ties soon.
My top 10 Fraser movies: 10. Blast from the past 9. Bedazzled 8. Journey to the Center 7. Mummy I and II. 6. The Air I Breath 5. With Honors 4. Crush 3. School Ties 2. Gods and Monsters 1. The Quiet American
