Any idea about the 3rd runway @ London Heathrow ? Heard the local residents who would have been evicted, took the matter to the court & its stalled there.
@4crevis they actually sound a bit "oldish" when they pick up full throttle. In 16 years of R/T flights LHR-LAX I'm glad they've always brought me home safe anyway. BA is the best !!!
@crossbike Doesn't really have anything relevant to what I said, just because you're nation makes airbus. What you said before, was that you think it's noisy, I said go on the 777-300ER becaues they own the GE-90 engines which will be 10X louder than this
Joking aside : I`ve been to a few different parts of the world, and you are correct. Our land is very green in comparison to many other places. It comes with the rain.
@enigma800 is from California, and the amount of rain that would constitute a drought in England would be considered a disastrous flood situation in California :-)
Most of this peice is monotonic and visual, but still beautiful, and though i like it in its entire , it is the first 10 seconds that is most pleasing to the ear, but do watch the whole 1 min 50 seconds, it is a very beautiful assault on the senses.
dfx961,he has a right to be scared.i have nearly crashed on a cta airplane from cyprus 2 turkey.the plane was in clouds, and the mountain came out of no-where.the pilot, give him some credit, actually turned 90 degrees to avoid it,and nearly hit a castle there so unless you were in my case,he has a right to be scared.and nearly all people except about 20 or maybe 40 live idiot!!

@MrRapidScope statistically, you going and walking out on the street is more dangerous than flying, let alone driving a car, more people die in car crashes in the U.S.A. in 6 months that have died in all the airplane accidents worldwide the last 100 yrs, only .0000004 of airplanes crash, most pilots in their careers never have to make an emergency landing, let alone a crash, let alone a crash with fatalities.for domestic flights in an industrial country the odds of dying r 1 in 8 million
@Derpinity I've explained this before to someone else on this comments section that this is definitely not a 777. Boeing 777's only have 1 turbine engine on each wing, making it have 2 turbine engines. The 744 model which is in this video has 4 turbine engines, 2 on each wing, which is why there are 2 turbine engines on that one wing.
@hossainiranipour no one guy said 'thats a 777 mate' replying to the title that says 'boeing 747 400 BA Speedbird 283' those guys needa learn their facts.
Who ever said that this is a tripple seven seriously needs to research the number of engines a 744 has. Either that when they built this aircraft they put both engines on one wing and forgot the other. By the way great video. Long live BA 744
i just love the rotate part; seeing the wings angle backward allowing the engines to pull the aircraft into the sky knowing the pilot is fully hands on with the aircraft at this point!
@thecookymonster91 it happened to me once on a 757, except it was just after liftoff. god knows why the pilot would even do that to me, but it happened. can't imagine what a birdstrike would be like after takeoff.

I`m not the worlds greatest flyer, I cant get used to it. But when I see the BA colours and the Rolls Royce Aero logo on the engine carcus, I somewhat feel a lot better!
Funnily enough, I was thinking exactly the same yesterday. I'm not a great flyer either, but I'm always comforted when looking out of the window and seeing the little RR on the engine cowling.
@danielchivas1010 yes these are Rolls Royce RB211's that power the 757 but these are the 524's that power the 747 and 767 where as the 757 is powered by the 525 version but yes they are basicllly the same engines :)
