  • omg go ashley and miss andrews! so awesome the both of them!

  • 1 person eats brimstone and treacle.

  • @ReesiePuffs64 that means 1 person will die in a birdcage

  • ASHLEY. That last note is phenomenal.

  • When I Was Younger I always thought that Mary was an Angel, since in the first scene she was seated in a cloud, and this kind of recreates this image in my mind since she effectively sends a Demon like Ms. Andrews back to Hell where she can no longer hurt people. Scary yes, but still it's Good Vs Evil, and that Evil will always be triumphed by Good, as Ms. Andrews is powerless against Mary .

  • I know that Miss Andrew usually exits via the birdcage in the middle of the floor, but I always thought that for when they used the cage from the doorway under the stairs, a great way of ending this song would of been to have Mr Banks appear from his study, and effectively slam the door shut without thinking... thus he gets to finish off Miss Andrew... pointless I know but anyone think I have a point?

  • ashley may not be as good as LMK (The shake in her operatic like voice makes LMK a little more superior) BUT ALL IN ALL GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!

  • OMG! BEST # IN THE WHOLE SHOW!!!

  • They took out "Temper, Temper" because it was too scary, but effectively sending someone down to hell isn't scary?

  • @DeoSoleil IDK! Where's the logic there? XD

  • @DeoSoleil That's exactly what I was about to post. haha

  • So... Is she like in Hell or what?

  • @FranBMan22 That was implied in the original London script for this show (it says that Miss Andrew gets sent "down below")

  • I don't know if it's just costuming or the camera quality, but I can't escape the fact Ashley looks so much like LMK here to me..

  • i Love this Part

But Mary Kind Of scared me when Everything went Red And Put Ms Andrews into The cage She waS Like "DOWN TO HELL WITH YOU"

  • This is one of my favorite songs, but I don't understand something. After this song was over and Miss Andrew squawks, why does she walk into her cage

  • @treycornelius Mind control, I think.

  • "And I've come back without notice!"

That head sway. God, Ashley is hilariooouuuusss. Do you have the full show to trade? Since Ashley's left the role, I'll never see her as Mary :(

Or does anyone have the full show with Ashley to trade? Plllleeease?

  • This is my favorite part

  • Mary Poppins Is FANTASTIC!!!!!

    She kicked Ms andrew`s Ass

  • 0:20 i dont like that exprection of mary :O she dont show her feelings XD

  • When i saw Mary Poppins, the bird cage in which Mary places Miss Andrew in it, was a lot bigger than the one shown here. It was freaking cool. I was like "yea... go Mary" Im definitely on Mary's side! ^^ Bai Miss Andrew >:3

  • when i saw the show ms andrews whent down in the cage in the cupboard

    =)

  • Mary Poppins The Musical is even better the second time around

The whole Cast & Crew totally ROCK'S especially Laura Michelle Kelly (AKA) Mary Poppins on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre here in New York City.

    I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it depends on where you go to see it and the stage that there working with....i work at the kennedy center and they have her goin thru the closet....and our stage aint as big as this one...we have alot of moving sets

  • I saw this in real life, I can't beleive someone got away with recording this ROFL

  • Weird. In the version I went to, Mrs. Andrew, played by Ellen Harvey, went through the closet rather than the floor.

  • @littleladysonic yeah that happened in the one i saw to. I think it's because the theatre doesn't have the ability to make people go through the floor.

  • @littleladysonic yeah, i saw her two weeks ago thusrday, and got to meet her. i knda' perfer the tour way

  • @littleladysonic That's in the touring version. She does go through the floor in the official Broadway version.

  • the set is very good no wonder it won the tony

  • What I want to know is what happened to the doggone little bird cage that the lark was in? When the big one with Ms. Andrews in it vanishes, so does the little one. This is my second time seeing the number (1st time was on Broadway) and I'm as clueless now as I was last August...and I do magic tricks in my spare time! Normally I'm pretty quick about figuring out stuff like this-magic tricks in stage shows, but this one, well, it's got me scratching my head.

  • @SRfangirl Just seen how it's done on a UK video!!! If you look closely at the end of this video - the small bird cage on the chest of drawers falls through the top of the drawers - so quick, and it happens right at the end of the song along with the explosion and larger cage which contains Miss Andrew - therefore it's all covered and you wouldn't notice it!!! :)

  • @mikeride101 where did you see the video? :) thanx~``

  • Where's Ms. Andrews...and why does it smell like brimstone in here?

Uhm...Bert went thru the house? LOLZ.

  • I really wish Ms. Andrews had more stage time. I LOVED HER!!!!!! She is the polar opposite of Mary, she has no redeemable qualities. She's bitter, vindictive ugly, sadistic...and AWESOME! Only two songs? Not fair. I would've loved to see more nastiness...

  • @Gellarfan666 on anything can happen appears XD

  • I LOVE her too!

  • This was the only good part of the musical.

  • go mary!! ^^

  • my absolute favorite part of the musical

  • This is amazing! Saw this 27th February. This was probably my favorite scene and the end note Laura sang was even more amazing than this, that i remember :]

  • Do u have this to trade????!!!!

  • I wished Miss Andrews would've put up more of a fight (Like having powers of her own. literally, an evil version of Mary) then it would've been a better scene. Out of place I know, but wouldn't it be cool to see Andrews throwing Mary through walls?

    cool scene nontheless

  • That would've made things interesting, but there is only one Mary Poppins. Most nannies wouldn't send the old nanny out the door, let alone to hell (according to the London script, Miss Andrew travels "down below," which basically means hell).

  • @khfanboy666 it is kinda funny how julie ANDREWS was mary poppins and miss ANDREWS is the evil character. probably a cawincidentince though :D

  • Hmm... in London on her last note she slides up the bannister rail, doesnt she do that on Broadway? Also the cage here simply seems to lower, wheras in London it drops fiercely with the explosion.

  • normally she would slide up the bannister, but i think the mechanism wasn't working that night.

even on tour, she slides up the bannister.

as for the cage, i guess they wanted to be more gentle :) lol. jk. idk about that one :]

  • On the uk tour I saw The thing that sort of hooked aroud her leg ......It wasent cleverly disguised .....her leg must have not bean folded around it proporly

  • It never drops fiercly in London, it goes about the same speed.

  • When I saw it in London, it really fell.

In the UK tour it doesnt go down a trapdoor, it slides back through the door under the vase.

  • Ah alright then. When i saw it Ms Andrew was knocked it the chair and thrown into the cage under the stairs, so didnt really how the cage fell

  • @CarusoCage On tour, the cage comes out of the kitchen

  • Lesson: Don't f*ck with Mary Poppins. ;) Seriously though, this number kicks ass.

  • amen!

  • Where is this production staged becuase when i saw it Mary didnt walk up the stair, she fly up on the bannister.

  • The banister mechanism was probably broken at this performance, which is why Ashley went up the stairs the normal way. And as you can guess, this is the Broadway one.

  • Anyone know whose playing Ms Andrew here?

  • "Where's Ms. Andrews?"

    --"She's gone."

    "Gone? Why?!"

--"She didn't give a reason mam."

xD Mary Poppins is the shiz.

  • This is SUCH a great scene. Mary is smug throughout the whole song, and knows just how to deal with Ms. Andrews - with a quick wit, and a little magic. Mary totally kicks Ms. Andrew's butt. I mean, come on! She makes her drink the entire bottle of Brimestone and Treacle, and sends her to hell in a birdcage. Brilliant!

  • How come she didn't slide up the banister at 4:19? When I saw it, she flew up the banister when she hit that note. Maybe the mechanism wasn't working right at this performance....

  • Way to GO Ashley on that last High Note!

  • SHE DID WOW 4:15 did good

  • I saw this last night and it was freaking awesome. If anyone of you has seen The ToothFairy. Doesn't the birdcage remind you of the Hellevator? That's what it reminded me of when she went down. Omigod. Best show on earth!

  • i liked the tour better

  • I saw it tour also and it worked very well. As for who's side I'm on definetley Mary's!

  • I liked the tour Ms. Andrews better

  • That's right i thought it was much better & more cooler they did it that way

  • what do you think would have been cooler

  • Does anyone have the full show

  • I'm on mary"s side

and check 4:15 she killed miss andrew

  • I like how Mary Poppins does the little hand motions at the end.

  • I saw this last night and the cage came out of the door and it went in and it was gone du du du

  • I think the set design for the tour is niftier. Having the jail cell magically appear in the other room is a neater trick. And then minutes later the room is back to normal.

  • listen to that amazing note that Ashley hits and holds at: 4:18

it would give me goosebumbs if I was on stage with her

She is amazing and I love her new ashleybrownonline website

  • ive got the Broadway and the West End script for this and they are great to read plus very intersting to read the stage directions etc

  • What does Miss Andrews scream after michael says "Perhaps their all dead"

  • "Not like that you stupid boy!"

  • Lol looks like Mary sent her to hell!

I always new Mary had a dark side :P

  • @OohcoolProductions Guess Mary always doesn't have to be practically perfect eh?

  • Who is singing marry here?

  • Ashley Brown!!!!!! :)

  • is chicago on brodway musicals different?

  • They are both the same musical. But the song Temper Temper has been replaced with a less scary number. It upsets me because it is one of the darker parts of the musical and that is what really makes it great. Temper Temper is going to be replaced in all further productions including Broadway soon enough.. So I read.

  • i ment in certain scenes

  • I don't think they can, didn't they sign a contract to make it more like the books? I really don't want them to change it

  • Temper Temper is awesome. I personally don't think it's all that scary, and it really is an amazing number, they can't take it out

  • That's right and Can You Upload Let's Go Fly a Kite Original Broadway Cast Too, Please?

  • They shouldn't replace Temper Temper because that was a GREAT song, even though it scared me when I watched it.

  • I have seen this show three times and this is my favorite part. When Mary sends Mrs. Andrew to hell in a birdcage. Fantastic.

  • ms andrew deserves it she is a bully to children

  • "Perhaps she was killed" XD

  • She doesnt slide up the banister like she did in london :S

  • I love Miss Andrews, and hopefully at school I be able to get the part as The Holy Terror because I can't wait to fight Mary Poppins and put the fear of God into The Kids

  • what does mary answer when Winifred says mary poppins where did you come from

  • I saw the tour in Chicago three weeksa ago and Ashley and Gavin were AMAZING. I was glad that the sets were more simple and just added another quality to the show. Our Miss Andrew held her note for literally 20 secs. When she finished everyone burst into applause that stopped the song for a moment. It also happened after "Setp In Time". We must have been a good audience because the actors were grinning and looking at each other trying not to smile.

  • I was there last week too! Ugh, Miss Andrew was amazing!

  • laura has such an incredible voice although i personally think scarlett strallen is better. i love it when ms andrews sings RAGE!! and when they do brimstone and treacle vs spoonful of sugar. lol in te show i saw, when ms andrews finished singing michael wipes the spit of his face lol, ws so funny. what actually happens to ms andrews? does she explode? wat does mary do to her?! lol not that i care bout her. love this song and MUST watch the show again.

  • She's sent to Hell or DOWN BELOW as it says in the script. I felt sorry for Ms Andrews because she was wicked

  • Yeah she was the best, wish Mary Poppins had been sent DOWN BELOW because Miss Andrews had a cool voice

  • I agree with you on scarlett. she's the best hands down

  • Who is playing Miss Andrew in this clip? She's fantastic and really fits the part.

  • I think this day the stair thing wasnt working...Ive seen this show so many times and every single time it works...she slides up every time! Its the best show on Broadway and Scarlett is the best Mary Poppins!

  • its different from london version because in the london version... mary will slide up the stairs at the last part of the song while here... ashley just climb up... but still its good

  • I dnt think you should compare cause evry1 puts there own spin on Mary i saw Ashley and she was AMAZING and just how I saw Mary in my mind and this song was and is one of my favs

  • i love ruth!! 8 times a week and i still haven't gotten tired of hearing her sing this song...

  • I think that the Laura Michelle Kelly version of Mary Poppins is a lot better Ashley is brilliant but she's over dramatic and the way she runs to the stairs is erm ill not say. LMK video is better.

  • aww they dont use the railing in the broadway show :(

  • they did when i saw it. maybe it just wasn't working the day this was filmed.

  • this scene made my mom wake up, she was like "whah?? wt happened" then i was like "miss andrew got served!" lol

  • this is from that dvd from ebay

  • what dvd?? i couldnt see any other than the original movie

  • probably my favorite scene in the entire show :) ashley is incredible!

  • thanks again!
