you can achieve sample selection based on velocity inside ableton itself so you can do this with everything, you can even have sampler on lower velocities vst synth on mid velocities and hw synth on high velocities within one midi channel and with as many audio outputs as you need
The excerpt at 6:52 would kill most live brass sections. They'd never be able to keep that up. Although as you say it's for samples but that length of brass section gets tiring on the ear.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Cinebrass. You explained very well and truly I gained insight from your video. This is invaluable for someone looking to compose and shopping for tools. VERY HELPFUL! VERY USEFUL!
Have you done any additional panning to LASS or CineBrass? Or was they in their recorded position for the song you wrote in this vid? Thanks for your time :)
It's funny because I'm pretty sure this is how notation programs have always handled articulations...anyways can't wait to get my hands on this. Looks and sounds great.
As for EastWest, if they still use Play and require me to use a top-secret cutting-edge government supercomputer(s) to run their brass library, well, I don't think it's worth the time.
Yeah, this library looks fantastic for composing when your brass use a lot of articulations ... And really great video, as always, very pedagogic and easy to understand (because I'm french ^^).
I wonder, will you post one day a video to show how you mix (I'm not sure how we say it ...) in Ableton ? It would be I think very interesting !
Anyway, thanks for all the vids, and keep them coming !
Caught the vid at the VI-Control forum. Very informative, and effective use of the articulations. I was scratching my head trying to think of what your sound reminded me of (outside of your own personal characteristics) and I realized it made me think of Brain Tyler. Maybe I was listening to the "Eagle Eye" soundtrack a few days ago. Either way, good stuff.
Hey Dan.. Thanks a lot for this vid! I've been following EW and looking into Hollywood Brass. It's nice to see alternatives. To be honest the whole rhythmic articulation factor in CineBrass has practically sold it to me already!. Such a nice feature.. I always found it tricky writing rhythmic 'fast' brass notation with other libraries so this sounds very promising.
Awesome! Thanks for the video. Library sounds great. I would however want to hear the first demos and pricing of Hollywood Brass, but I think still this library is no-brainer as you said.
Hey Daniel, thanks for this impressions on CineBrass and btw very nice music arrangement. CineBrass seems currently the most intuitive brass lib on the market and it sounds really awesome.
Thank you so much for this review! I just finished downloading CineBrass myself and was reading complaints about the velocity map on the v.i. control forum. Your video put my mind at ease--no idea why anyone would want to go back to keyswitching when you can play the samples so rhythmically like you have. :D
Excellent presentation! Have had the same issue with writing for trumpet (samples). I hear epic trumpet phrases in my head when I score, but can never realize them with samples. That has led to me just avoiding any use of the trumpets except for sustain notes, and having them playing in unison with the horns. I was sincerely hoping this library would give me more options when writing for trumpets, and it certainly sounds and looks like it.
I love your tutorials and walkthroughs. And this piece itself is a fantastic piece of music! What's the percussion you're using in the bombastic perc track? It's fantastic.
Got to have "oomph!" Daniel. ;)
I'll be buying this when I can find the money for it. Thanks for the demo, very informative. :)

Not only have you given us a great insight into the library, but you have broken down your composition and shown how it was put together. Great work!
Just out of interest, how much algo reverb have you used on Cine Brass?

Hi Daniel, your videos are fantastic! Very helpful. As for the brass library, would you recommend CineBrass over Orchestral Brass Classic? Thanks!

Bravo ! Your opinion is really meaningful for me. Keep on the good work man !
I like your excitement and your positive attitude, it is refreshing.
I made a wish for you tonight : I hope you will compose one day for a live orchestra. The constraints will be one driver for your creativity.
