Is "Avenging Annie" available in sheet music? I could possibly learn though it'd take me forever since my technique and finger dexterity is pretty bad ):
A true treasure!! It's places like this that keep these songs alive. Was played a lot over the years on WLAV in Grand Rapids, MI. Another station like all those around the country that was forced with change. SUCKS!!!!
Hi People please find me on itsaboutmusic bandcamp wikipedia xlibris amazon itunes etc. I'm available for shows and recording work (piano/vocals/guitars/production.... blessings
Someone help! My favorite person with K-SHE Klassics, Curt / Termite58..I just found out...has been terminated from Youtube. My heart is broken. He posted some of the rarest music in it's entirety. If anyone knows where he may have resurfaced, please send me a personal message! I was going to ask him about finding a certain song and *poof*
What the hell am I gonna do when I get back to Mass w/out 'BCN ? I'm to f#%kin' old to stick one of them I-Pod things in my ear, I still like my music to come out of a speaker from a good FM station. Why do people have to screw with all the good things, is nothin' sacred or safe anymore ? Good-bye to the end of an era, DAMN FUCKIN' SHAME (sorry ;bout the cuss)
check out Gram Parsons "widow maker"(you tube) a month or so ago. I felt like I got hit in the head with a rock when I heard 'bcn was no more ! I grew up with Daryl Martini "The Cosmic Muffin", Carlos the Computer, And who can ever forget The King Biscuit Flower Hour ??? Or Charles Laquidera ? WBCN (R.I.P.) introduced a shitload of us Bostonians to our first taste of REAL music, and serious underground rock when all the other FM stations were busy with Top 40 garbage! R.I.P 'BCN R.I.P. "Bandit"
@Jgeneraledger23 YES it did get a fair amount of airplay in BeanTown---remember it well myself and all TOOOO long ago! Strange it got more airplay in Boston than just about anyplace else. I think I remember it being played on WCOZ and WAAF and less on WBCN. Also was popular on some AM stations. All those "great" FM stations gone forever along with all the good times and great music of the era-----PEACE.
@Jgeneraledger23 WBCN went back further than WCOZ from a "rock" standpoint---1968. I remember ALL of it like yesterday and it was 40+ yrs. I'm 60 and from BeanTown area--now in Fl. 26 yrs. PEACE
@Jgeneraledger23 Gone just about 8 or 9 months now. A real shame and end of a legend and a Boston staple for well over 40 yrs. Listened to them from the very first night of the "rock format" change over--1968. They used to broadcast nights live from the Boston Tea Party on Landsdown St. and Peter Wolf was live DJ from there. Mississippi Fats and the King Biscuit Flower Hour, Dwayne Glasscock, Charles Laquadara, etc. Good times--good times--great station--GREAT MUSIC----ALL gone. PEACE
@rustribbonwizz : Sadly this doesn't surprise me, especially since I read what shifted into its place. People want Adult Contemporary and they seem to want more Talk (in this case sports talk) so in the Boston radio market (and in the Northeast in general) something had to move to make more space, and the progressive 'BCN was it. :(
I saw Andy live in 78 with Mark Doyle on Guitar in Syracuse NY. One of the best live shows I've ever seen. Fantastic energy, it was a hot August night the temp must have been 100 in the club with the humidity the same, Thunderstorms were rolling through the area. It was standing room only, packed. I still remember that night, great song!
I could've written these very same comments! This song still takes me back to the days I would play this song over and over again with my headphones on. These were much happier and easier times.
one of those great road songs

@indy00kat It's great. So much of his stuff is. Maybe Gretchen Wilson could do it. It's got too many sections to be a hit though
