I think some of your info may be incorrect. This either was produced before 1957 for theaters, or was produced later by some network other than DuMont. DuMont Network ceased broadcasting in 1956. And as far as I know, they never had the ability to show anything in color (as there were none but a few experimental color sets in existence)---color broadcasts were pretty much a rare novelty before 1965 or 1966, when NBC became the first network to broadcast all its programming in color.
The best scene in the movie. Every time it was on TV when I was a boy, I waited for this scene.
