  • this is beautiful

  • Amazing!! The best indicator of how beautiful this song is is the lady in the choir with the darkbrown hair, several times in closeup, not singing but visibly enjoying!

  • @55Godfather Tell me about it, her face kept popping into my mind last night, to the point where it stopped me from getting proper sleep, and I was mortified because I couldn't remember where I'd seen her before. And then a few secs ago it happened again, and it dawned on me that it was here. Guess I'm a bit on the crazy side, lol.

  • Awesome. Just ozzes quality. Anyone who doesn't enjoy this has no heart or soul.

  • love song at its best ...swirl an enjoy

  • Luckiest audience in the world.

  • Baarsian you are the pot calling the kettle black! "For fuck's sake just enjoy the music" and don't bother looking at the comments if they arse you.

  • the looks on all there faces. even some of the singers are reminising (or however you spell that).

  • simple in its beauty

  • missed another one - the outraged feminist who doesn't like the 'Lads only' reference

  • I freaking LOVE this band!!

  • magic!

  • Oh god, I just want to marry him!!

  • Baarsian, don't know what the fuck you're on about mate. And your point is? Who gives a fuck whether people like your comment or not! You've just oxy fuckin moron'd yourself there. But as you suggest I agree, lets enjoy the music.

  • Love the Garv but by God he looks like Ricky Gervais! Which is NOT GOOD!

  • We're actually engaged and getting married in april and this will be our first dance

  • 3:50 , I cry

  • It's hard to watch these music videos without reading in the top comments:

1 Someone pour their personal dribble about how the song touched them in a hyperbolically deep way..

2 ..while giving out to the "plebs" who'd listen to "spoon-fed manufactured pop music" rather than appreciate this music only a select few "get"..

3 ..then giving shite to those who dislike the video..

4 ..and consequently having the above statements liked to top comments.

Lad's, just enjoy the music, fuck's sake.

  • @Baarsian make the video full screen then so you dont have to read them, the idea of having a comments function on youtube is that you can have discussions with people you dont know and my last thought is that you dont know me so therefore how do you know how this song makes me feel

  • @pepparamiwideboy When I read comments I'm looking to find an interesting opinion or fact about the video. A funny comment is also often welcome. However, you make my point exactly. I don't know you either and so, I assume, doesn't anybody else here. So why the constant urge for you and others to splurge your deeply private feelings up on a video website? It's a rather irrelevant but annoyingly repetitive phenomenon. Not everyone has to be a bloody poet.

  • @Baarsian

    I’ve got another one..

5.. some git who thinks he so wise and mature that he’s above it all trying to dictate to everyone how to behave like he’s some kind of authority figure.

‘Lad's, just enjoy the music, fuck's sake’.. Oh my God!

Stick your pearls of wisdom up your arse.

    - What a tosser

  • @harshshark81 6. Someone who dislikes someone else's counter-opinion with a completely over-the-top reaction. Sorry forgot

  • @Baarsian

    7. Piss off

  • @harshshark81

    8. Grow up.

  • @harshshark81 probably the best comment ive ever read.

  • @mrjoeington Which one?

  • @harshshark81 yours! legendary

  • Comment removed

  • @Baarsian What a sanctimonious twa* ....

  • @Baarsian It's just a great song. Chill.

  • Shut up you mug, oooooo how dare people express their feelings for the music that they love, its our way of saying thanks and spot on to the amazing band that is ELBOW, if you come to watch the video and hear the music then do so and don't read the fecking comments if you cant hack it.

  • message for baarsian

  • @Baarsian you missed one; 5. The person who takes the piss outa the aforementioned commentors and tells people to just enjoy the music ;)

  • @Baarsian I wish I could cut-and-paste that and put it on every YouTube music video I watch. Well said.

  • Amazing!

  • Elbow are an oasis of relief, in a desert of repetitive and dull music that polluted the charts of the last decade.

  • Felt like shit today, worrying about exams, now I feel fantastic.

  • love, love, love this song!!!

  • 1:20 to 1:25 "crap, fly's down"

  • @chazzthecoleslaf

    Or MIC stand is loose....

  • @plankslappeNZ it's whatever you want it to be

  • @chazzthecoleslaf

    genius

  • this shit make me cry, it's just wonderful

  • заслушивался "зеркальным шаром" в исполнении P. Gabriel. а тут....еще лучше!

    БОГ!

  • If ever there was a soundtrack for life, this would be on it.

  • absolutely inspiring

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs in history. Astounding. Many thanks for posting this.

  • The little smile on Guy's face at 4:55 says it all... and just look at the faces in the choir, there's not a person in the room that is not caught up completely and lifted to new heights by the gentle, simple beauty of this song... utterly stunning

  • post no.3 - cannot get it right - speechless really........ Awesome........ Live??? That was sooo good I don't think I'll ever believe it.

  • thanks so much for posting this. It has made what would otherwise have been a bad day great.

  • would've killed my first born child to be there. well, bit extreme but you get my point.

  • I love the expression of the dark head girl in the choir as she sways to the lyrics...you can tell that she feels the content!!!

  • -3 that is all! X

  • i agree with thegame - she's mesmerising! i live in n.z., asked my mate back in blighty what band to look at, so glad he nudged the elbow at me. these guys are talented, and their style is perfect to work with an orchestra & choir section.

  • I don't know who the woman is at 4:50 but I am completely in love with her.

  • Saw them live at RockWerchter this summer, and just bought tickets to go see them again in November. Can't wait.

  • Still one of the most beautiful love songs EVER written - also magnificently covered by Peter Gabriel - real goose flesh stuff

  • Bill Clinton at 4:45?

  • such amazing thing we have here

  • Like there are 2 piano's in the beginning

  • Thanks Peter Gabriel for turning me on to this amazing band and this awesome song. I can't believe I had never heard of those guys before. Why isn't Canadian radio playing this music?

  • @jfswingkid because Canadian radio sucks.

  • i tell ya, im a death metal guy and i saw them do this for the first time on tv at the glastonbury coverage. i was thinking the beginning piano was a bit repettitive but by the time the strings came in my eyes were watering. absoloutely beautiful. Not the hardest song to play instrument wise, but you have to be a really special musician to write something like this. Amazing isnt the word, its amazing what a soundscape thy create with all the instruments and vocals. love em!

  • I have been converted to Elbow after hearing this at Glastonbury, its soo beautiful!

  • seriously, how can you not like this

    someone tell me, I really don't have a clue..;

  • This song made me cry twice

  • I swear to God, if it weren't for bands like this, I'd jack in listening to music. With so much manufactured pop plop prostituting itself to Simon Cowell, it's a relief to see criminally underrated bands like Elbow breathing fresh air into music. Masterpieces like this are so rare. I'd despair at the Future of British music if Cher Lloyd got to number one in the UK charts. Oh, fuck. She did. FFS. All genius music is from the north of England. Except Lame Gallacher.

  • vid is out of sync but awsome still <3

  • @grantspants shame on!

  • well done

  • Feel the love...

  • WOW!!

  • U people do all realise that this is actually a Peter Gabriel song? It is beautifully done though.

  • @grantspants Guy Garvey wrote it, and Elbow recorded it in 2008. Gabriel recorded his version in late 2009 to early 2010. And it isn't as good as Elbow's original.

  • @grantspants Just gonna say, sure Peter Gabriel covered it.

  • @grantspants EGG AND YOUR FACE ARE IN ALIGNMENT.

  • Beautiful

  • saw him a few days ago at Rock Werchter, didn't knew him before, and now a big fan!

  • PETER KAY IS PLAYING THE PIANO

  • @BexyNut haha!

  • The best thing to sit and watch whilst savouring a single malt!

    chillgasm!!

  • its nice when something new isnt sponsored by Cowell. or the riff raff that hang around council estates

  • @adeofspades1 Elbow aint 'new', they've been around some 20 years!

  • @zee69 i know they arent new but I mean the song is "fairly new" lol

  • Coruscate. To give off light; to reflect in flashes; to sparkle. To exhibit brilliant technique or style.

  • So beautiful this song, and this version is incredible. The lady in the orchestra with the glasses is stunning aswell.

  • BRAVO.....stunning excellence....Hi5

  • I always feel a tidal wave of emotions listening to them. <3

  • la migliore band degli ultimi 15 anni.Punto.

  • we should lived the way this music is ,nice ,soft and very intens

  • o i hear it spectrum .it sso beautiful it brings tears to my eyes -=)

  • I'd say that was one special gig!

  • 2 dislikes.... have you both got your hearing aids turned off???

  • magic

  • Thank you Elbow - "magic" was in my thoughts also,,,,,,

  • This song truly is a masterpiece.

  • 3:00. Joy.

  • i love this band with all my heart!

  • Thank You. Thats all I need to say.

  • Utterly corruscating. Guy Garvey is the poet of our generation. I live in hope that someone will love me as deeply as these lyrics suggest possible.

  • @fooluvver Down here in Argentina, I live in the same hope! Do you think we will ever be granted that privilege? I was...

  • @fooluvver I totally agree with you, (high five) when I first heard it I thought I pray someone loves me that much, I hear you, no ONE writes ike that nowadays. Hes a genius. End of.

  • @fooluvver Corruscate ain't no word son

  • Comment removed

  • @fooluvver I just learned a new word ^^ thank you for this

  • Amazing!!! His voice makes me feel warmth &loneliness at the same time. Great singer & wonderful musicians!

  • This song is the single most important song in mine and my girlfriend's life. we were watching these guys headline the bestival in 2009 and when listening to this song we both realised that we were with the one person that we were meant to be with. Now when I grow some cahunas and ask her to marry me this will definately be our first dance. These boys are genious those two people who have disliked this song have know soul

  • @pepparamiwideboy aww thats so sweet:-)

  • @pepparamiwideboy So have you asked her yet? It's been four months!

  • @pepparamiwideboy I saw Elbow a week ago at Reading, they were so so good

  • @pepparamiwideboy

Man keep that shit to yourself, you'd be surprised how quickly things change.........

  • If I'm able to pass only one CD on to my children, it will be this one. The Seldom Seen Kid will forever be in my collection. There are times in your life when you just need it, and Mirrorball in particular makes my heart ache.

  • the best love song ever ...just love this song ...first thing i listen to in a morning on way to work ....thats some song

  • this makes me cry ....fullstop...best love song ever ....

  • What's the new album's name? I didn't know about it!

  • @larosadecobre 'Build a Rocket Boys'. It is amazing!

  • Beautiful music

  • The next lead singer of genesis...ONLY JOKING!!...This band is a pure breath of fresh air..Love the new album although i feel `The seldom seen kid` was always gonna be a hard act to follow..never the less a brilliant effort...Elbow and Laura Marling really float my boat at the mo...

  • Heartbreakingly romantic. I would be very happy if this is the only song I could listen to for the rest of my days.

  • This song has something special. It touches my soul. Brilliant.

  • made my day!!! thanks downloadmusic .im

  • Guy Garvey seems like the nicest mofo you'd ever wanna meet.

  • @bwownbwead ...he is!

  • Gorgeous

  • absolutely stunning & that high pitched backing singer has the voice of an angel

  • This is such an amazing song. It speaks volumes, as do all of Elbow's lyrics - some of their songs tickle my chuckle muscles, some tug at the heart strings and some just make me want to hold on tightly to the one I love. I have the album version of Mirrorball on my ipod "YEAH!" playlist but I REALLY like this version.

  • dont really know how to describe elbow. just great songwriters. unique for sure. great.

  • Just amazing. This is now 'our' song!!

  • Its only the likes of bands such as ELBOW and EARTH CULTURE that have restored my faith in music these days

  • Elbow's the best

  • Comment removed

  • ELBOW are so UNDERATED !! it sickens me

  • I so agree with koamileli! I think I would cry through the entire song if I could be there! Awesome!

  • I so feel like koamileli!!!! I think I would cry through the entire song!

  • @larosadecobre emo.

  • This is just stunning! Had a friend say to me today that other than London England is crap!!!! Well i'd rather be in the so called grim north of Manchester with its endless stream of earth moving bands than live in that souless hole they call the capital!

  • @mudman1881 Or more likely it is proof that if you sift through enough shit, occasionally you find diamonds. London is grim, but I maintain the best thing to come out of Manchester is the M6 southbound!

  • @digireedoo Nope sorry I've never heard of that band!

  • brilliant brittish art of music

  • elbow articulate all those words, poems and songs that dwell within your heart and that ache to be sung or spoken to the one you love. True soul music. I've seen them twice before and they were nothing if not extraordinary. Seeing them on the 22nd of March at the NIA in Birmingham. New album sound brilliant too.

thank you Guy, Pete, Mark, Rich and Craig for giving us so much beautiful music.

  • jussss wow!

  • blow you away performance , would have loved to have been there.

  • I saw Elbow play at Delamere Forest in 2008. There were several moments where I was completely overwhelmed: Mirrorball, Grace Under Pressure, One Day Like This, and then when they ended with Scattered Black And Whites, the tears truly flowed. One of the most beautiful evenings of my 27 years
