Micheal Moore does a great job. You dont like the truth, cause it hurts. Guns kill people, because they are so easy to get in the USA. Easier than anywhere in the world. Wheres the lies?
@maya0mex What? Where's the lies? What are you talking about? Nobody is saying guns aren't dangerous. This isn't about how dangerous guns are. That's a no-brainer. It's about how people give credibility to someone who blatantly lies. Do you really want to give someone's dishonesty a pass just because you agree with their end message?
Moore's overall point in the film has little to do with this segment, but I am glad that you have pointed out that "documentary" film is a text - it is crafted, produced, and highly rhetorical. Nevertheless, the key take away from the film is that US "news" media uniquely inspires a fear of violence for viewers - and this results in higher gun sales - so is that the answer to why we have such huge gun violence stats? Not really an anti-gun message at all - more of an anti-"news" media message.
Michael Moore does not hate america, because likes canada, and canada is a part of america like mexico or the usa... ;-)
that movie makes america even worse! they attacking michael morre in some unimportant things, but they dont even try to say the problems he talks about arent true...
because they exist!
PS: by the way, you call yourselfse americans... but your just a part of the big thing called america (continent), and you´re not even the biggest part it...
@norich111 The movie hardly 'Attacks' anyone. If you'd watched it, you'd realize the movie uncovers that MMoore, uses dirty tactics to make his movies.
MMoore is full of crap. He uses edited down video clips without consent from those on film to make HIS point. Moore wants to portray Capitalism as a failed, outdated economic method, relying on the ignorance of people, twisted footage and lies to make his point.
The fact is, Socialism does NOT work, and Capitalism does. Hence Thanksgiving
@GUILDGOB The Movie does not attack anyone. i think the things Moore talks about are big Problems in the States!!!
Capitalism doesnt work! we had big problems because oif capitalism, specialy with banks. the thing that works is called democracy! I dont think your way of leading a state and treating people is a goog or the right way... but that doesnt matter at all, you have to feel fine, your opinion counts. but micheal moores also does count^^, thats what i wanted to say
@norich111 If you think capitalism doesn't work, you should see the track record socialism has.
Under capitalism, we have the richest poor people in the world. Starvation, like you see in North Korea, is virtually unknown. Even legitimate hunger is rare.
The biggest problem is "food insecurity", which principally means that high quality food is hard to obtain in some areas, so the poor eat a lot of empty calories and get fat.
@Hikikomori013 good idea,but wrong. your way of USA capitalism caused billions of damage in every country.and you dont care about that.your poor people are rich because of capitalism,right. but because they are rich other people have to work in a different country 12hours a day for maybe 5 cents an hour, just because you want chep shoes. how can you call that fair?socialism doesnt work as well. but just say capitalism works,cause its the best we have is wrong.
@Hikikomori013 And!!! capitalism is not always the same. there are a lot of different models. we should always modify the things we can modify, in the right way, to fight problems. there is not one system thats perfekt and even if it is perfect, it wont be perfect in 100 years. it doesnt mean socialism.you wont believe it, but there is even more than those to systems, because there are so many versions of them. capitalism is the reason for many proplems!if we dont fix that its not a good system
@Hikikomori013 if you really think capitalism works, why did china (not capitalism!)had to give the USA 900 billion dollar.how could china get all this money? because nearly everyone there has a bad live, that makes their nation rich(punishing all people). => you can live good because chinese people are threaded very bad. you are supporting communism my friend.everyone does.communism and terror.we have to fight that. the only problem is that we dont know how. but to say it good. is wrong
@norich111 China did not give America 900 billion; it invested 900 billion because America is still a good investment.
They had 900 billion because they have adopted a capitalist economy, and it has done wonders for them. The government is still totalitarian, and that has not been good for the people of China.
@Hikikomori013 see it the way you want. but you (and me too) live in a good way, because other people have to feel a lot of pain! look at the blood thats necessary to get some dimonds to our yountries or the different metals just for a smart phone. The USA sells weapons to some terrorists the rest of the world judges as criminals (an official statement from USA, i can send you the video), to change the world in a better way for you, not to make a better world! sad but true
@norich111 See it the way you want! Hahaha... yeah, the truth. That's the way I'll see it. "China is awesome because it uses dirt cheap labor to produce bad-quality raw goods that America and Japan (capitalists) uses to build awesome shit... and then China rips off the patents to make their own bad-quality ripoffs!!! haha you're funny. you should be a comedian. Go live in China. That way the great firewall can block you from YouTube and we don't have to read your nonsense.
For those of you who thinks Michael Moore is a fraud and a scammer, I just pity you. To be able to develop the community you can't be so narrow-minded. Watch Capitalism: A love story and shut up!
@ninjatiger95 Yep, go buy Capitalism: A Love Story with your hard earn money that will go to Moore. Then Moore will keep that money even though it isn't his money, it is everyone's money.
@777danzig My hard earned money? Socialism says nothing about stopping people from earning money, until you have reached the ultimate goal. When you have reached the ultimate goal you have no need for money, everyone shares everything. I myself is not a 100% socialist, im more of a socialliberalist because it don't think that there is such a thing as a ultimate community.
@ninjatiger95 When you earn a lot of money you buy expensive items and pay higher property tax, or you are a business owner and you get a tax cut so you have more money to hire employees and give benefits. It isn't like you get the money and then sit on it, people who are rich take the money and invest it into new land or a business or a hobby. So they will always have a need for money. There is no ultimate goal, the rich invest the money, taking it away from them hurts jobs comrade.
@777danzig Why buy expensive stuff just because you can? And I think that you should not give benefits to everyone, but to those who have worked to earn it. And those benefits should be in the form of higher wage, because only USA could come up with such a stupid thing as health insurance. Look at France, they have free health care. Cuba which is a "communist" land have the best health care and a very high percentage of people who are educated.
Americans don't deserve descent people like Michael Moore, they need assholes like Bush, well done Americans, your empire already started falling down.
You're right: true journalists never report only one side of an issue or use deceptive editing, and they always show every frame of footage they ever shoot. And casting doubt on MM's methods completely invalidate his criticism of the war and the health care system.
lol michael moore is not how they depict him to be. All the facts he has shown in his documentaries are proven, not this shit. This is mostly opinion.
Michael Moore does not hate america...Half of you people need to learn facts before you speak and form your opinion...1st of all...what did Moore fight against...1.excessive abuse by Wall Street 2. Universal Healthcare 3. Better gun control.. and much more... He is fighting for the little guys so to speak, those people who are cheated and robbed, those people who can't afford healthcare, those who are affected by majority of the political decisions where they have no say...
Saying that Michael Moore hates America is like saying that Conservatives and Republicans hate America because they're against abortion, and abortion is legal and practiced in this country.
Michael Moore is a SNAKE. I don't think he hates America, I think he feels as if he is above most Americans (at least the ones who don't share his extream left-wing views), and he thrives on his abillity to manipulate emotions, twist words, cut-and-paste unsuspecting peoples' statements to fit his agenda. Basicly, he is a master of telling lies without actually saying a word. He doesn't hate America its self, just Americans who are White and/or Christian , especially if they are conservatives.
@dslgunner1977 you could say the same thing for any politician or even rush limbaugh. Give me a good example of someone else who brings out facts to prove a position...and to say he hates white christians is absurd... First of all he is white.. and second of all his views tend to point towards a code of morality... "help those who have less than you" its bullshit people like you can't see that its absolutely appalling. BOTH Parties are corrupt. they want money rather than a "thanks" from people.
@add2t4 Well, I do agree with you about most politicians, rep. AND dem. An example of a politacal commentator who brings out facts to prove a position would be Mark Levin, Author of Liberty and Tyranny, and talk show host. To say Michael moore hates Christians is certainly not absurd. People of any ethnicity can be self-hating. Did you know that Adolf Hitler had Jewish ancestry? Have you ever heard the term "uncle tom," used to describe a black who despises his own race? Michael Moore is a FAKE.
"nothing was ever mentioned about what the true intention of our story was"... that's cause if he told you, you could have made it look like you wanted it to! The fact of the matter is, why should machines designed to KILL be so easily accessable, yet medicine which the gov't deems illegal because they cannot contain it to make a profit, will land you on probation or in jail?
@iamthewalrus3620 you're an idiot, try watching the whole thing. yes im not a huge fan of all of his [moore's] "documentaries", but i have actually watched them, some more than 2-3 times, because im at least open minded. and you are a narrow-minded, brainwashed, presumably college attending, mongoloid who has been destroyed by the liberal element in america. open your mind and realize that your tree-hugging, american hater idols you build shrines for may actually not be reputable, nor forthright
An important point in this story: The point of the gun clip from Bowling For Columbine was to show that America is a gun obsessed nation, and that a bank can lure an average person to open an account with a certain bank in exchange for a gun. The point of the bank clip was not to show that the bank was doing anything dangerous (I don't believe it was), but that banks will use guns as a marketing tool to lure in customers. It's supposed to be humurous.
You're exactly right. It just seems like people who don't like Michael Moore's movies don't get the point he's trying to make. He doesn't lie in his movies and he doesn't manipulate people either, they're just mislead. I highly doubt the Academy would nominate Moore if there was "proven lies" in his documentaries. So people who don't like Moore got to lighten up and accept the truth that Moore reveals in his films.
@dfbhcf are u saying tht ppl should accept that thats the truth without questioning him or investigating it because he gets award by leftist critiques? (hollywod is left wing as it gets) u are a zombie my friend.
@NearAbbeyRoad where did u get ur numbers u lying scum? america has way less deaths than UK and almost any other country with gun control. some of the few countries that have less deaths (by guns) than america are switzerland and Israel. u think thats a mere coincidence? u think criminals just go into a gun store and buy a fckn mac 11 or a tec 9? u should really do ur research before going michael moore with the BS
@maikeru1 a very lot do. of course americans don't care about nobody else then them selves. but things are the way they are. but I do like more which want to change something instead of keep all as it was.
who says these bullshitters ,arent bullshittin ... to every documentary micheal makes there will be some sneaky 'Bush-lovers' who will undermine his vision .
america doesn't want to be seen like they truelly are ,but hey here in europe everybody hates america . micheal moore is one of the few things we appreciate .
and even if he is lying ,america is based on lies ...
In the United States at the end of 2001, 10% of the population owned 71% of the wealth and the top 1% owned 38%. On the other hand, the bottom 40% owned less than 1% of the nation's wealth.
Lebron James, Sergey Brin, Mark Zuckerberg... People aren't born without opportunities to succeed, they just have more opportunities in some countries.
'Wealth is not fixed pie; one person's share does not mean others get less. You'd be happier in 2008 with a smaller share of the total pie relative to 1908 because the pie is so much bigger. Getting a large share doesn't mean you've pushed others down.' - Russ Roberts
Stop being an apologist for an unfair system. The figures speak for themselves. The wealth distribution in the USA is appalling. It is not much different in the UK, but the UK does shout it is the land of opportunity. Look up Geoism - an economic system based on an unrigged free-market with NO income tax. The current system is rigged.
Anyone who opposed the unjust distribution of wealth in the USA is labelled a Commie by the right-wing nuts. BTW, Commies are now passe.
@Chengy8 It kind of does mean that others get less when some just accumulate wealth just for themselves. ... may be not necessarily on a small scale level,... but most certainly when seen on a global scale.
How can someone be wealthy by accumulation alone? You need to use assets for them to have value. If half the country were to put their money under their bed and not spend it ever. Everyone else's money would be more valuable! They could buy more with less money! You need to utilise assets to be wealthy. The human mind is the most valuable asset that exists, everyone loses when people do not use the most valuable asset. If most stop and a few do though, these people will be wealthy.
@Chengy8 Of course its a fixed pie. If I make 20 billion is profits and YOU make minimum wage. If I raise your wages to $15 an hour, my profits will decrease and your wealth will increase. Inflation gives the illusion of the pie never decreasing or shrinking. Monopolies , large factories have proven its a fixed pie for when they collapse they decimate a city or town. And Mike hates the gov. and economy setup not america
You do not get poorer through the purchase of something that makes you more productive. If you purchase a computer for example and start an online business where you sell a product. You would become wealthy if your product were in fact valuable to others. You increase the pie by adding value to others and take a profit from the increased value you add to the world.
If you raise a wage and the individual does not work for that wage through increased productivity. You will lose that investment. If that increased wage prompts competition from others to seek out the role, a more efficient person will be hired.
Also $20 billion profits is not a flat rate a company will make for long. If the company does not become more efficient, competitors will enter the market and capture greater shares of that company profit. This increases productivity.
As for the collapse of towns and cities economies, this occurs as the town, city or government often hampers the incentives for another business to enter. If a once thriving business were destroyed by the regulations of the town or city, why would anyone else move into the area? There are 7-9 million jobs that are created and destroyed in the US per quarter! The US is still a very amazing and dynamic economy, slowly being destroyed by social engineers.
@Chengy8 Neocons define 'success' differently than progressives. Most wealthy people lack the intelligence, courage and integrity of much poorer people. They do not risk their lives for their alleged principles. They are nothing without poorer people's money, which they get by deception. Mike does not hate America. Corrupt officials and corporate con men hate him for the same reasons they hate Julian Assange. He knows their dirty "perception management" tactics. Many of us do.
@Chengy8 in 1908 money was worth more so you didnt need more like we do now...are money has no worth now so it takes more money to live than it did in 1908.
@NearAbbeyRoad I dont disagree with you completely.I HATED moore.I dont anymore because I have taken time to really listen to his opinions.I still rarely agree with him.Im a working class conservative.He is so far left I cant stand it lol.I still think this country is the greatest country in the world.There is more opportunity in this country that any other country in the world IN MY OPINION.This is the land of opportunity.Only it is becoming THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY UNLESS YOU ARE AN AMERICAN
@NearAbbeyRoad jesus christ must you quote that, like all brainwashed zombies that share the same mis-informed rhetoric based belief. you must be a liberal because you sit around bitching that others actually did something to achieve wealth, wtf do you propose to do about it? just take their money? cause they have so much? go live in the fucking woods in some european nation and be your own personal robbin hood. cause i dont want your or uncle sam taking any more of my hard-earned money.
In the United States at the end of 2001, 10% of the population owned 71% of the wealth and the top 1% owned 38%. On the other hand, the bottom 40% owned less than 1% of the nation's wealth.
The land of opportunity. For who?
This vested interest brought about a world-wide crash. Look up Geoism - a well supported economic system leaves business behavior the same. It promotes economic growth and suppresses speculation on land and its resources.
People do not have the time to both read up on every obscure policy to help change a nation and look after themselves as well as their family. Being an informed citizen is very much irresponsible due to the opportunity cost. This is why it is so despicable that someone like Moore uses half-truths and straight out lies and manipulation.
Even though he may think what he is doing is right for the end cause, it is wrong under any rational morals to attempt to change the world with deception. In this case it is even further disturbing because he is such a talented editor with great public reach that campaigns for something very close to the opposite of what will aid the people that support him.
@NearAbbeyRoad On top of the 'facts', his main protagonist in the film is a magician (Penn Jillette) that spent 1 year at college. (Clown college, more specifically.) We also hear extensively from a 'guy' who is sitting in front of a book case whose credentials are never given. Not 1 doctor, lawyer or politician is interviewed. Even the coffee shop that is critiqued is misspelled in the subtitles.. I'm sure the owner of 'Just Breathe' coffee roasters didn't mind being called 'Just Breath'..
@NearAbbeyRoad u mean ur tool of defense? yea its all true, and america should be proud of that bank. we have the right to bare arms and the right to self defense. judging by ur spelling mistakes i can tell ur from some ugly, socialist country in europe were u cant take a piss without filling paperwork and having a dozen of friends in the bureacracy u call government.
"I havent seen anything that makes me believe that Michael Moore loves America".
Ok... fist of all, that isnt true. Watch "Capitalism a love story" and you will see that he does love America. Second of all: What is the problem is he doesnt love America? Why must every American love America? I do not understand
Under capitalism government does not provide bailouts to companies, incentives for people to buy houses, print and control money, and they definitely should not be creating a tax system that gives to the politically powerful and steals from those that lack political power.
Through the manipulation of peoples emotions and rational ignorance Michael Moore is able to gain the support of people that are taken advantage of by a poorly designed system of social structure.
@Chengy8 WTF is the TEA Party doing...and i could say any politician hates america because they are able to gain the support of people that are taken advantage of by a poorly designed system of social structure. This is a poor argument. Though i do agree that under capitalism, the government does not provide bailouts and so on...
@Chengy8 some economic laws are, unfortunately, manipulated by the party who benefits the most or has the most influence. This is again unfortunate that you would say something against MM because he manipulates people. Isn't it fair to say people flock to him because he expresses similar viewpoints of people. In A republic the rights of all people are protected. that means the minorities too. Which in this case is the poor...MM is following the Constitution and fights to protect peoples rights
@Chengy8 wrong again . capitalism does provide the printing and control of money, how how else could there be capitalism with no currency. Banks provide a service and they con the system like wal mart GE Lockheed martin and the rest of the corporations. Our government is run by capitalist business our government is a business. How can we be capitalist and not support the capitalist business like banks whos sole purpose is to maximize profits. The system is well designed to screw us over.
Crony capitalism is what you are describing. This is not capitalism. Government is not involved with control of money under capitalism. Multiple private institutions would provide money under capitalism and unreliable money would be discarded, UNLESS money, the medium of exchange is forced to be accepted.
This is quite a familiar scenario around the world. Unreliable money dominates, as people hold onto good money that has real value and use the useless money over and over. The reason this useless money succeeds is because Government forces retailers to accept the local currency as legal tender or face punishment.
@Chengy8 Yes Money is completely useless. capitalism is capitalism, open , free liberal markets do not use regulation because the market is supposedly the regulator. Which I am assuming you’re in favor of and the federal reserve is private and of course our money does have value simply because the government says it does and I starve without it. Its far too late to try to put value behind our money. Say for instance gold, doing that would completely collapse our economy.
Money is a tool of exchange that is useful if it is difficult to counterfeit, durable and accepted among the masses. Money is an efficient tool if used correctly which derives value from efficiency.
Federal Reserve may seem private in that the Government does not own it. The Federal Reserve is much more sinister in its characteristics though. The Federal Reserve is protected and exists because of the Government as a MONOPOLY issuer of currency - No other competition is allowed.
Gold is difficult to counterfeit, durable and could be accepted among the masses in the future. A collapse occurs regardless ‘value behind our money in gold’ or not because value is not derived from money but PRODUCTIVITY. Productivity is what gives money value in efficiency.
Please do not underestimate the power of people when exchanging goods and services. People have been trading far longer than there have been central banks. Often exchanges without money can be far more prosperous and generally are, as they also foster great relationships.
For example, in many circumstances in life there are scenarios where money is literally useless. No matter how much money you throw at someone they will not work with you unless you can demonstrate value. Often the only way to develop this connection is provide such great value to another person that knows the expert you’re chasing to get an introduction to prove that you are truly a worthwhile person to be involved with.
Under capitalism a private enterprise would be able to have a private money system that is backed by value. Government would not have a monopoly on money and not be able to force legal tender on anyone. Under this situation where Government does not force individuals and business to accept legal tender, money that does not have value, whether they be private or Government will fail.
Government is not business. Businesses are rewarded with profit for being efficient under capitalism. Businesses are encouraged to be prudent through losses that may occur under capitalism.
Governments are rewarded for being incompetent, when Government fails in healthcare or education for example they seek additional funds to ‘succeed’. Yet it is beneficial for them to fail again to seek even larger funds and power.
Government is run by people, people are motivated by their own self interest, greed as they say. Greed is bad under a scenario where the provisions of poor services are rewarded and punished for being competent through being reduced in size and budget.
Greed is good where people provide value. Greedy people looking to profit will give you what you want -clothes, food, services and so on. There is a reason why people starve when Government controls food supply and distribution.
@svsimon Because if you dont love America then GET THE FUCK OUT. Go to fuckin mexico or maybe africa and enjoy the genocide and rot in the desert you stupid fuck.
@Strychnine12 I thought the USA was a democracy where different opinions are allowed... but obviously not. Maybe YOU are the one who should move elsewhere, my suggestion would be North Korea.
@svsimon Yes, different opinions are allowed. I dont remember making a comment saying you dont deserve an opinion.....? But if you dont like this country, then you are free to move out. I happen to like this country, i just hate the dumb fucks running it.
@svsimon THE USA IS A REPUBLIC not a DEMOCRACY...they both are ruled ,supposedly, by the people. But have two different aims. Republic focuses of liberty and securing laws for minorities and majorities alike. So that elected officials or other affluent or politically powerful people can't infringe the rights. in a democracy securing of rights and opinions lack or basic liberties, lack. The people adopt a Constitution as a law of securing rights. Modern Politics-on both sides, has failed to rem
@add2t4 Are you sure? Because a republic doesn't have to be a democracy, but a democracy can be a republic. Anyway, what I mean is that in the USA you are (as I have understood the constitution) free to have a different opinion.
@NairbLands That's not a good enough answer, one can be satified with one's life in USA without loving it or saying the plegde of allegiance every morning. Democracy entitles you to have another opinion without having to be a [insert insult here].
The Academy isn't allowing Michael to lie; they're rewarding dishonesty. There's a difference there. The First Amendment allows him to be deceptive. This bald guy being interviewed needs to be careful with his generalizations. Other than that, well done.
I bought into Michaels sneaky editing tricks as a kid, then I grew up
And whenever people write everyone in a country off as one, it brings so much loathing out of me
Michael has brought alot of people outside the U.S.A to write off the country and people as one....fortunately their are people like myself who don't have that attitude
@ilovepanslabyrinth generalization is the base of left wing policy. they believe that every1 wants the same because "that is human nature" when human nature really is to prosper. one cant prosper under socialism. thats y if u notice, most big socialists were sociologists who generalized humanity, including the almighty Marx. individualism is the basis of prosperity and its what makes america the land of opportunity.
Okay, I really want to learn something here I'm re-reading your comment over and over.
So the Left-Wing has the wrong idea about human nature. And because one can't prosper under socialism (that I agree with)
I think, I think. Your saying neither the Left or Right wing are totally correct with their way, I have a friend in Texas who doesn't want to fully commit to either, but you defend Michael Moores actions....I can't fit everything I wanna say here, answer back, I want 2 know
@ilovepanslabyrinth ok, im asumming ur not being sarcastic right? in order to know how to talk about this i need to know if ur familiar with sociology at at least a high school level. if ur not, its ok, just let me know if u are or not and ill explain my point of view to u (i need to know if u are so i can explain how false sociology is). its good to meet some1 whos willing to share ideas.
I'm really not out to waste either of our time, so I'm not shitting you. I think I might not know what Sociology is. If you want me to look it up and then get your comment back that'd be cool
LOL these attempts at discrediting MM are hilarious! The fact of the matter is regardless of the theatrics MM chooses to use, his message is still factually clear.... this bank does in fact, give guns to those who open an account. Google thegunzone and north country bank and trust....the advertisement is right there!
This kind of videos should be watched by more than 70 guys. We should really think of something to change that. Because the truth is Michael Moore is a Freemason Zionist trying to take arms from the people in the US, and I have a feeling you are going to need them in a couple of months..maybe years..Great documentary. Best regards, Alejandro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A gang of warmongers and gun fanatics fingering Moore for exposing their stupidity. How very surprising.

@Hikikomori013 good idea,but wrong. your way of USA capitalism caused billions of damage in every country.and you dont care about that.your poor people are rich because of capitalism,right. but because they are rich other people have to work in a different country 12hours a day for maybe 5 cents an hour, just because you want chep shoes. how can you call that fair?socialism doesnt work as well. but just say capitalism works,cause its the best we have is wrong.
norich111 5 months ago

777danzig 10 months ago
@777danzig My hard earned money? Socialism says nothing about stopping people from earning money, until you have reached the ultimate goal. When you have reached the ultimate goal you have no need for money, everyone shares everything. I myself is not a 100% socialist, im more of a socialliberalist because it don't think that there is such a thing as a ultimate community.
ninjatiger95 10 months ago
@ninjatiger95 When you earn a lot of money you buy expensive items and pay higher property tax, or you are a business owner and you get a tax cut so you have more money to hire employees and give benefits. It isn't like you get the money and then sit on it, people who are rich take the money and invest it into new land or a business or a hobby. So they will always have a need for money. There is no ultimate goal, the rich invest the money, taking it away from them hurts jobs comrade.
777danzig 10 months ago
@777danzig Why buy expensive stuff just because you can? And I think that you should not give benefits to everyone, but to those who have worked to earn it. And those benefits should be in the form of higher wage, because only USA could come up with such a stupid thing as health insurance. Look at France, they have free health care. Cuba which is a "communist" land have the best health care and a very high percentage of people who are educated.

Have you ever heard the term "uncle tom," used to describe a black who despises his own race? Michael Moore is a FAKE.

NearAbbeyRoad 1 year ago
@Chengy8 It kind of does mean that others get less when some just accumulate wealth just for themselves. ... may be not necessarily on a small scale level,... but most certainly when seen on a global scale.
axelroesch 1 year ago
@axelroesch
Chengy8 1 year ago
@Chengy8 Of course its a fixed pie. If I make 20 billion is profits and YOU make minimum wage. If I raise your wages to $15 an hour, my profits will decrease and your wealth will increase. Inflation gives the illusion of the pie never decreasing or shrinking. Monopolies , large factories have proven its a fixed pie for when they collapse they decimate a city or town. And Mike hates the gov. and economy setup not america
killwhitey88d 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
You do not get poorer through the purchase of something that makes you more productive. If you purchase a computer for example and start an online business where you sell a product. You would become wealthy if your product were in fact valuable to others. You increase the pie by adding value to others and take a profit from the increased value you add to the world.
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Chengy8 1 year ago
@Chengy8 Neocons define 'success' differently than progressives. Most wealthy people lack the intelligence, courage and integrity of much poorer people. People do not have the time to both read up on every obscure policy to help change a nation and look after themselves as well as their family. Being an informed citizen is very much irresponsible due to the opportunity cost. This is why it is so despicable that someone like Moore uses half-truths and straight out lies and manipulation.

@Chengy8 some economic laws are, unfortunately, manipulated by the party who benefits the most or has the most influence. In A republic the rights of all people are protected. that means the minorities too. Which in this case is the poor...MM is following the Constitution and fights to protect peoples rights
add2t4 1 year ago
@Chengy8 wrong again . capitalism does provide the printing and control of money, how how else could there be capitalism with no currency. Banks provide a service and they con the system like wal mart GE Lockheed martin and the rest of the corporations. Our government is run by capitalist business our government is a business. How can we be capitalist and not support the capitalist business like banks whos sole purpose is to maximize profits. The system is well designed to screw us over.
killwhitey88d 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Crony capitalism is what you are describing. This is not capitalism. Government is not involved with control of money under capitalism. Multiple private institutions would provide money under capitalism and unreliable money would be discarded, UNLESS money, the medium of exchange is forced to be accepted.
Chengy8 1 year ago
This is quite a familiar scenario around the world. Unreliable money dominates, as people hold onto good money that has real value and use the useless money over and over. The reason this useless money succeeds is because Government forces retailers to accept the local currency as legal tender or face punishment.
Chengy8 1 year ago
@Chengy8 Yes Money is completely useless. capitalism is capitalism, open , free liberal markets do not use regulation because the market is supposedly the regulator. Which I am assuming you’re in favor of and the federal reserve is private and of course our money does have value simply because the government says it does and I starve without it. Its far too late to try to put value behind our money. Say for instance gold, doing that would completely collapse our economy.
killwhitey88d 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Gold is difficult to counterfeit, durable and could be accepted among the masses in the future. A collapse occurs regardless ‘value behind our money in gold’ or not because value is not derived from money but PRODUCTIVITY. Productivity is what gives money value in efficiency.
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Please do not underestimate the power of people when exchanging goods and services. People have been trading far longer than there have been central banks. Often exchanges without money can be far more prosperous and generally are, as they also foster great relationships.
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Under capitalism a private enterprise would be able to have a private money system that is backed by value. Government would not have a monopoly on money and not be able to force legal tender on anyone. Under this situation where Government does not force individuals and business to accept legal tender, money that does not have value, whether they be private or Government will fail.
Chengy8 1 year ago
@killwhitey88d
Chengy8 1 year ago 2
@killwhitey88d

I'm really not out to waste either of our time, so I'm not shitting you. I think I might not know what Sociology is. If you want me to look it up and then get your comment back that'd be cool
But I wanna know

LOL these attempts at discrediting MM are hilarious! The fact of the matter is regardless of the theatrics MM chooses to use, his message is still factually clear.... this bank does in fact, give guns to those who open an account. Google thegunzone and north country bank and trust....the advertisement is right there!

This kind of videos should be watched by more than 70 guys. We should really think of something to change that. Because the truth is Michael Moore is a Freemason Zionist trying to take arms from the people in the US, and I have a feeling you are going to need them in a couple of months..maybe years..Great documentary. Best regards, Alejandro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

mason y sionista? lo dijiste irónicamente?
arcangel2003 2 years ago
