Unavoidable? If he wraps him up like he's taught, he wouldn't be hitting him in the head. Now had he done that, and his head snapped back and hit the turf, I would say that was unavoidable. Leaving your feet and launching towards someones head is something that is totally avoidable.

That's just a good hit. It's not illegal in college, and whoever said that there wouldn't be head hits if players weren't wearing helmets is dead wrong. Football used to be played completely different from the way it is played today. They used to not wear helmets and many players died from head on hits. Along with that it used to be a penalty if you threw an incomplete pass and you used to not be able to catch a pass in the endzone. You have to catch in front of the goal line and run it in.

That's just a good hit. It's not illegal in college, and whoever said that there wouldn't be head hits if players weren't wearing helmets is dead wrong. Football used to be played completely different from the way it is played today. They used to not wear helmets and many players died from head on hits. Along with that it used to be a penalty if you threw an incomplete pass and you used to not be able to catch a pass in the endzone. You have to catch in front of the goal line and run it in.

You do not lead w/ the helmet unless you want to hurt another player and most likely yourself. He could've easily tucked his head down, led w/ his shoulder pads and still put on a tremendous lick onto that receiver.

Im not defending leading with his head, but im defending him connecting with the slots head first. As a cb i know, when u get to the slot too late to prevent him from catching the ball and he JUST turning around, smoke him all out to the head.....you want him to drop the ball..unless your chasing him obviously, but clearly that wasn't the case here.

I'm a big Wisconsin fan, and I'm saying that htat was a huge hit, but it was illigal. He obviously didn't mean to do it, but the fact of the matter is, that he did. that is like when a basketball player tells an offical that he was going for the ball when he is called for a foul. I sure hope nobody would mean to do that. I would have the same thought about anyone who got hit like that.

I would say his head hit right before his left shoulder. Either way, he didn't wrap up which makes it look intentional and causes controversy.
I know football is a very physical sport. When you sign up to play, you have to expect hits like this.
