  • This was a great flashback! Thanks for posting!

  • Hearing the name "Don Bluth" gives me the odd urge to play "Dragon's Lair" on that questionable 90s (though prototyped in the 80s) entity known as CD-i. Also, " The New Generation of Olds" is one of the best advertising slogans ever. Why, I can't say. It just is.

  • i wish t.v was still like this. no more good sitcoms. sorry, but, not a fan of all these office comedies that aren't funny. i miss family shows and reality shows are crap.

  • Perhaps someone at NBC should have sit down with someone from Macy's and explained that the premiere of a hugely popular PG movie with lots of kids appeal was not the appropriate showcase for an ad featuring a woman strutting around in a sheer, see-through dress talking about how inhibited she really isn't?

KFC really did do terrific chicken back then. Today--ugh.

Did the NBC print come with the "To Be Continued" at the end?

  • So which would you rather have: Sunday night movies or Reality TV Shows

  • @Baltimoreman78 The two don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive.

Also, I'd argue that scripted television has made a huge comeback in the last few years. Cable is still full of reality trash though.

  • Was that kron 4 back then?!

  • wow, william shatner and his daughter in a car commercial

  • Gosh I love the land before time, too bad the first version I saw was the first vhs which cut a lot of the scenes.

  • Good grief thats a long commercial stretch!

  • @jtmjtm2001 Good lord... The commercial breaks are edited together.

  • Your family must have had the VCR recording throughout the entire decade!

  • I'm glad you posted this, that land before time tv spot has outcut footage not uploaded anywhere but here

  • was that girl in the 501 commercial Minnie Driver?

  • Damn commercials, get back to the movie!

  • again, WORTH watching?

  • Best role she's ever had IMO was her recurring role on Arrested Development. "Justice is Blind!"

  • No, what ruined Daryl Hannah's acting career is her complete lack of acting skill.

High Spirits was actually very funny, and featured some truly creepy ghost nuns, to boot!

That Cher perfume was later discontinued, now sells for upwards of $300 a bottle (for the good stuff). Who would pay that for 20 year old rancid perfume?????

  • @RoxyAlexander I wear that perfume, its 20 years old and not rancid :) It smells super sexy!

  • Man.

I want a bacon swiss burger.

I just had a baconator. XD

  • On that Oldsmobile commercial... a few years later, Leonard Nimoy's daughter did the SAME ad for their Oldsmobile minivan!

That NBC movie intro reminds me of a time when a "BROADCAST TELEVISION PREMIERE" movie was definitely a BIG DEAL!

  • these type of cadillac's were amazing in the 80s the red Fleetwood looks awesome im trying to look with the same cadillac with the wired spoke rims from 1985-1989

  • "Norelco's new coffe makers do more than make coffee..."

After you're done making coffee, you can use it to shave!

"All new coffee makers with System 190..."

What was wrong with, or for that matter what were, Systems 1-180?

  • lol that made me laugh

"you can use it to shave"

  • Oh, I loved watching those commercials. made me feel nostalgic. I used to live in the bay area.

  • When the "Back to the Future" movies aired on TV, NBC aired parts 1 and 3 while ABC aired part 2.

  • Steve Guttenberg is the film industry's answer to the peter-principle! I mean, here was a mediocre actor who should have spent his career playing the main character's wacky buddy or the 'bad choice' in love triangle movies. And he rose to near super-star status! (And then fell off the face of the Earth!) Maybe the 'Stone cutters' WERE behind him! Also, wasn't Day By Day a spin-off of Family ties? Ironic that it was pre-empted by a Fox vehicle! (pun intended!) & Melanie did a ST ep. as a kid

  • Nice 'Simpsons' reference. I loved the Stonecutters song!

  • Back to the Future is such an awesome movie. And tonight's going to be sweet: after years of watching it on VHS and DVD, I'm finally going to see it at the theaters!

  • High Spirits wasn't bad enough to kill Liam Neison's career. Did you forget that he and Peter O'Tool, Jenifer Tilly and that guy from the OC where in this movie too? lol C'mon! It wasn't that bad a movie.

  • High Spirits pretty much killed the careers of both Steve Gutenburg and Darryl Hannah...it was aweful, truely aweful.

  • Gutenburg was on his last legs from the get go. I might have to review this movie with a case of bud.

  • GODDAMMIT, we need more movies on broadcast television. Screw these reality shows, that's time that could be devoted to airing movies and going back to the good ol' days.

  • @simpsonsfan89 You can forget about that. It just cost too much money for little return. Unless you have a movie/miniseries that everyone is going to watch its just not worth the price.

  • OMG Cher. *squeee!*

  • Melanie Shatner?

    she's kinda hot ..

  • Cher said she had a lot of people inside her. Yes, I would say so.

  • I think I finally figured out which Baldwin is which...

Alec = Well... Alec. He could never be confused with any lesser Baldwins

    William (Billy) = Sliver

Stephen = The Usual Suspects (and countless Sci-Fi channel movies)

Daniel = Angry, drug addicted, republican nutbag with no impressive credits to speak of.

Is this correct? Took years to get them all straight. Could've just looked on IMDB, but it was much more fun on my own. Thanks for playing... Who's that Baldwin?

  • The Baldwin Brothers are the result of a government cloning experiment gone terribly awry.

  • Its like that movie "multiplicity"...Alec was the first and truely the most gifted..but you know what happens when you make a copy of a copy.

  • Cher is in her sixties and I can still see her wear her motorcycle jacket!

  • Is that Ola Ray, (of "Thriller" fame) in the KFC commercial?

  • Is that a Baldwin I see in the Levi's commercial?

  • That has to be William Baldwin.

  • High Spirits is one of Steve Guttenberg's best movies. I have no idea why I don't own the DVD.

  • I so look forward to your videos, the editing in this one was seamless!! It actually made me feel as if I was watching it again, brings back great memories! I cannot thank you enough for your contributions, simply incredible, just incredible. Great tension relievers!

  • THANK YOU!!! I know i had watched the premier of B.T.T.F. on T.V. so i am reliving this as well. 5/5

  • YAY! Land Before Time is a classic, it was one movie that got my emotions stirred up as a child.

  • I wouldn't exactly call "Day by Day" a hit comedy. Even if Julia Louis-Drefyus and Courtney Thorne-Smith were in it.

  • is any role Julia Louis-Dreyfus worth watching?

  • Doubt it.

  • hehe, afraid to say it's true. I mean I've watched Old Christine and all she does is blame Wanda Sykes.

  • I wonder if the Cadillac Fleetwood was named after Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac.

  • Cadillac first started selling the Fleetwood in 1927.

  • ahh crispix, the retarded brother of chex.

  • Blasphemy!

  • I lulzd

  • I love catching trailers for insane 80's/early 90's movies I've never heard of before. I've even recorded a few of them off HBO recently.

  • All these food commercials! Now I'm hungry lol

  • Is is just me or does Cher have the same face now as she did 20 years ago?

  • I think I have seen "HIgh Spirits" before, but I don't know where or why or when.....

I wish you could post just a montage of 80's Levi's commercials.....They were the best!!!

  • Awesome Oldsmobile spot. Thanks!

  • hit & smash!
