I grew up in the 60's High Chaparral was my favortite western, I also grew up in the south west, I watched all the 60's westerns, and High Chaparral was the most realistic, they worked hard, and got dirty, and were very human. The show did not have the pretense of other westerns, it was real.

Bloated budget. Stay in the top 20 the actors all want a bigger piece of the pie. Combat! was the same but the producer dumped it for cheaper actors, same boom-boom: "Garrison's Guerillas". Old Tucson is great.

I loved watching the show as a kid and finally got to go see the the set at Old Tucson back in October 2007. It was amazing to stand where such great acting had once taken place.

High Chaparral, first show I saw after coming to this country, my Father released after having been incarcerated and tortured for many years as a Political Prisoner. Wonderful years as I sat with my Father and watched High Chaparral. It's a transformation to listen. I praise you for your efforts.
