The StupakPitts Amendment, written by Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan and Republican Rep. Joseph R. Pitts of Pennsylvania, is an amendment to the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962). Other prominent supporters of the amendment include U.S. Representatives Brad Ellsworth, Marcy Kaptur, Kathy Dahlkemper, Daniel Lipinski and Chris Smith. It passed the House of Representatives on November 7, 2009, by a margin of 240-194.
Government is not the answer, Government is the reason Health care and health care insurance is as high as it is. NO matter how you feel about abortions issues, the Government run health care plan is not the answer. The stimulus did not work, the cash for clunkers did not work, we are heading for hyper inflation. Why would you want to give the same people control over Health care or insurance companies. There is already too much Government in the Health care system.
Please be aware that the Hyde amendment does not allow FEDERAL payment for abortion. HOWEVER, Medicaid is State funding. The Health care bill will provide money for the states that can be use as that state sees fit.
I agree a legitimate question but illegitimate behaviour. I would like to add that HR3200 did not mandate that health care plans cover abortion, it did require health care plans to cover essential benefits. Many amendments were introduced in various House and Senate committees to clarify that abortion was not an essential benefit. But these amendments were voted against.
The guy asking the question had a legitimate question but acted like an emotional 12 year old and was clearly rude because of irrational fear. Rather than listen to the explanation...he would rather continue to rant. The reality is he and like persons refuse to hear the truth. They believe what they want to believe.
We have a huge role in fighting against the violent pro-life movement, which can always be representing in the way we speak to one another. But I am very excited to see people actually going to their local leaders about these issues. Remembering to keep peace can be hard when we are involved, but its important to represent Jesus. The question presenting was really good and it only takes one to make an impact!
It was not offensive, nor violated policy. If you disagree with a commenter, that is expected discourse, but to play Czar, and dismiss its availability, is cowardice.

Why would you remove the comment by SMM?
