wait, for rim shots, dont you... like.. put the back of the stick on the head, and then do like the same motion the bass pedal does but with your hand.. like travis barker does in a lot of his solos? or is that somethin different??

thats what rimshots sounds like alright.. your probably thinking of the 'mic'ed snares, which produces a different sound

my brother I'm a producer of many lifetimes. Take it from me, your snare needs to be tuned, also try different skins. You will get a much better sound, listen to the rim shot on a 70's Al Green record. (change the skins)
