this is one of my favorite Stephen Stills/ Manassas songs, and I was thrilled to see him play this @ The House Of Blues in L.A. California. It was a fantastic show. Thanks for the post.
Stills and that big white guitar of his blue my ears out at the Paramount in Seattle in '75. Ears have been ringing ever since, but damn! that concert was worth it!
I agree with you he still(s) gives me the chills and I saw him so live I could have reached out and touched something near and dear. He is like fine merlot, sweet and satisfying. Long May You Run, Love You Stephen
lost his voice!? Still sounds as ropey as ever. Rough and ready. Know what you mean about the guitar thing though. His acoustic playing used to send spiders up my back
Although he lost his voice, he still knows his way around a guitar and his contributions to music are well known to the congnescenti. My all time favorite. Thanks forsharing this with us.
what a wonderful thing to see my favorite age gracefully..not sure if he has horses anymore..but Esteban, I take care of 28 ponies..you can come out and gather cattle with me any old time.
Just one thing, does anyone on youtube have the wherewithall to put up that great tune "sugar babe"...love it, and can't seem to find it here..
gracias, and peace to our brother Stills.
Fresh, always new, always true makes getting older seem fine fine fine.
I saw him in NY and he talked about his earlier days of sking in Denver, but he wasn't talking about skis. Everyone had a laugh. He sounded great and did a great version of Johnny's Garden. He is still an awesome guitat player. Go on his 1983 site when he plays crossroads/can't catch me.
Saw Stills in Des Moines this summer and the man was cracking jokes about his two bum knees from skiing in Colorado, his drug problems and basically ROCKED Hoyt Sherman place. 1st time I've seen him without Crosby & Nash.Well worth the 4 hour drive to make this gig ! Prostrate cancer may slow him down, but don't count him out !
Stephen did mention at the April 20th show in Collingswood, NJ that he had just lost 15 lbs...and then proceeded to compliment us on the best catering of the tour!
Stephen has been making a sincere effort to lose weight-going to the gym regularly. He was always so SLENDER for all those years he was riding horses, maybe he should start riding again! Strangely, he didn't get fat and begin having knee problems UNTIL he married this VERY YOUNG third wife(see guys, it's BETTER for your health to marry a woman closer to your own age, LOL)!
rocky mountain way is on one of his old records....i saw him in cleveland in june ,,he played it for the joe walsh home crowd.(being from cleveland),,crowd loved.very nice.!!..the band apllaused each other at the end of it ,,,tight !!!!!!!we drove 5 hours for the show from london ontario,,id do it again...excellent show at the tiny house of blues
Bless you for this post, The House of Blues Hollywood show July 13/07 was fantastic, Stephen's special guest on a few songs was Joe Walsh, the cwowd really loved it. That was really something to see in such an intimate setting. Would love to get a whole show on DVD, Thanks again. Peace
I'm seeing him 7/13 at the Hollywood House of Blues- and I CAN'T WAIT!!! I've loved him ever since the Springfield, and am just now seeing him in concert...

I was at that HOB show too, it was amazing! I was levitating, I think! :) He sounded GREAT, both in
voice and playing....And this was my favorite song from the show...As he said, "There's still life in the old man yet!" :)
