Dear friend, if you want to listen to this song again as well as an endless number of love songs I suggest you visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - look for the URL in Google (search Musica para Mimos). Greatest romantic hits of all times!!!
one of the first tracks i heard from them ... way back when i was at school ... today i am happy to say i have about anything they ever released in EU, US and OZ :D not a single bad song ... the angels RULE (still! after all those years)
Best teenage years EVA ! Saw all the Aussie greats around Sydney in the '80's The Tatts Radiators Chisel at the Vicker of Wakefield Angles Sunnyboys (somewhere in Parra) Swanee Australian Crawl & Tatts at the Old Comb & Cutter. Ted Murry Mi Sex - Us all crambed in trying to get to the front of the stage No needing binoculars to see the band. When you walk into a Pub these days it's Piped lift music & a symphony of Poker Machine Bells. Saw Angles in Coffs a few years back they still ROCK BABY !!!
f**k yeah... take a long line... take long line with me... I saw these guys first when I was 9 years old ... and many time more and they still rock hard...
Pre-glam metal and just good music. Used to listen to them as kids. Luckily we didn't have to listen to the crud that's regarded as 'popular music' today. Just saying.
Doc Neeson looks nothing like Jim Carrey, Doc's a total babe. And to those who will comment this correcting me and saying he WAS a babe, he still totally is. I'd tap that.
@MikeWhiskyTango What a load of garbage! Everytime I went to a disco in the 70's and early 80's they were playing AC/DC, The Angels, The Radiators, the Sunnyboys, Midnight Oil, Aussie Crawl, SkyHooks, Sherbet, The Rads, Rosie Tats, Dave Dobbin, Divynls. Forever 15, Dee Minor, V Spy VSpy, Cold Chisel etc etc Brand new music for the blue light disco. Boney M and Hot chocolate for the red light, northern beaches disco! Only having fun!!!
I remember going to see the Angels and the Pier hotel in Frankston using my brothers fake ID.. the bouncers were about to send me on my way when some bogan threw a empty VB stubbie at them, while they were distracted I bolted in... still ranks up there as one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
Hey Angels fans, we are FASTRACK a young hard working Aussie rock band trying to get our brand of rock n roll heard. If you have a spare 5 minutes click on our page and watch our new single "Steal the Show"

@1967Hendri Absolutely . There was originally a US band called The Angels who sang Doo Whop music I think , Best knownb for My VBoyfriends Back so - while these guys were The Angels here and NZ - they had to find something else globally. Angel City they became. Amazing band.
i just discovered this band bad thing is iv'e had the vinyl face to face for 15 or more years unopened lol. my wifes friend gave me a bunch of vinyl back then put it all in the closet and forgot about it. i love this album cant stop playing it and im 49 lol

Saw these guys live at the historic "Cloudland" in Brisbane and the building nearly bounced off the hill. Oh happy days! The angels were my sanity music during early uni years and part of my saving from disco hell. Long may they live.
For fucks sake, why is it that one person says one small comment about the band or their style then dickheads put up paragraph after paragraph of why that isnt so......guess what fuckwits who do that......no one thinks youre any fucking smarter or knowledgable by shooting your mouth off......how about we just call it as it is.....these lads are some of the best entertainers and showmen of AUSTRALIAN rock!!!!..........good tunes are good tunes, thats all there fucking is to it.....rock on!!!!!!!

These guys and The Mark Of Cain are the finest contemporary musical exports out of Adelaide ever. That's why I'm applying for a work transfer over there soon,so sick of Perth and the shitty rich kid attitudes here, yea I lived in Melbourne for 3 of my 40 miserable years and had some of the best times of my life, but I believe Adelaide is up and coming in the cultural and art stakes and I don't really want to live the big city lifestyle again at my age.
Fuck me i feel old! But this is worth watching than anything new, no matter how pretty they are, or metal they are,I have a theory that when you have so much on display, there's not much back in the storeroom!

Dark room ...great sound...school girl..minds....and disco ball between sets...kogarah Moorefiel girls High 1980's..... best nights in the st george region...fuck st girls ...the greenies and kogarah high slags!!!
Doc \Neeson tried to cop off with my girlfriend at a gig in Bunbury in 1985 once. I threw an empty can of beer at his head, it bounced off making a hollow thunking sound. Remember that Doc???? DO YA?????? Fuckin cunt, in hindsight, you're welcome to the slag ;-)
@FrankCleocuz You were lucky, if Doc Neeson would have tried to take me off of my boyfriend I would have done it in a minute. He was hoooootttt. Still the best rock singer ever, even in his 60s.
I think punk showed them that keeping things simple is a better alternative. I do not think these 30+ year old musicians would have taken the punk ethic very seriously - especially considering they were already established rockers who's peers and associates were people like Rick Springfield and Bon Scott (same generation).
Like punk, AC/DC may have introduced them to another option - but I doubt that the Angels were AC/DC's students... that would be sort of laughable.
And on another interesting note, one of the Brewster brothers (guitarists of the Angels) played in a band called The Zoot along side Rick Springfield and Beeb Birtles (later of Little River Band).... and who was it that christened the band 'The Zoot'? No other than Angels singer Doc Neeson...
It's all connected, but hardly connected to punk...
you're quite right XD AC/DC used to get called punk all time by the media and they hated it! Maybe there's slight punk element in the rawness but it's certainly just good old Aussie rock!
@girlygirl4870 For years I thought he said, "As his head pokes over the top." I thought it was just some weird thing he felt like saying. Sounded cool to me. Well, I was only 13 at the time! lol
@girlygirl4870 Yep! One of my two favourite speed skating songs at Balcatta Rollerdrome along with Split Enz' "I See Red" =) Good times, good times...
why the hell did i get 4 poor comments agains my ""they're not metal""... they are not metal and never were ausrock, punkrock. they're like ac/dc in the early days just 100% rock n roll
Back in the early 80's I was in band that opened for them. One night only but well worth it. Great to see they are still at it. Underrated and underappreciated!!
a mate of mine jump up on stage started dancing with doc like a madman doc ended up hitting him with a large frozen fish he ran back to us yelling did you see that doc hit me with a frozen fish he was ecstatic i was cracking up
My and my mates went to see The Allnighters in the 1980's. During " Montego Bay " one of the band members motioned to a few of us to come up on stage and ska dance. Normally there would be zero chance of me getting up there when sober or close to it.
However, after a skinful i was braver than normal. Me and my mate " tried " to dance and i was pathetic as usual. Looking out into the audience, is a memory both myself and your brother will never forget. I wish i could have been in a band!!!
awesome, seen them with ac/dc and swanee in 1980 myer music bowl. the angels were so good that when they finished we all thought they may have upstaged ac/dc. then ac/dc came on wow. the angels came close that day to bettering the biggest band ever to come out of OZ. seen them heaps over the years but age gets you in the end. i like to remember them as they were. one of the best in late 70's to 1980.
my mum went to go see the angels years ago before I was born and after the show when she was waiting for a taxi doc neeson walked over and asked if she wanted to go to the after show party with him and the band
I was at a live Angels concert in Sydney in the early 90's when at the end of the concert the band Cheap Trick came onstage and performed its a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll with the Angels. It was awesome. Does anyone know about this or were they at the same concert. I have more on this event
Also does any one have footage of this. They actually made a video out of this concert but for some reason the cheap trick duet was not in the video.
Great to see these guys back with a full stage show & 1 half hour Theatre Tour. Saw them last night at The Forum Melbourne (best concert venue in Australia) -Excellent set! If you get a chance don't miss the Night Attack tour best $50 you will ever spend. Hightligts City Out of Control, Devils Gate & Face the Day & of course Take a Long Line...Brilliant show!
Stood up my girlfriend in 79 for the senior prom. Went and saw these guys and the rubber city rebels in Hollywood Ca. I'll never forget it. Probably would'nt of remembered the prom anyway!

FUCK YES!!
cousiwa09 2 years ago
are they referring to snorting a long line of coke/speed/ketamine or is it analogous to "take the long way home" by Supertramp?
What I'm trying to ask, were The Angels and Cold Chisel and similar racking chemicals, or was it all about the booze culture back then?

I worked as a roadie for a band called Mystify and helped carry all the gear for the angels and cold chisel so I was lucky.

@girlygirl4870 For years I thought he said, "As his head pokes over the top." I thought it was just some weird thing he felt like saying. Sounded cool to me. Well, I was only 13 at the time! lol

@girlygirl4870 Yep! One of my two favourite speed skating songs at Balcatta Rollerdrome along with Split Enz' "I See Red" =) Good times, good times...

trueblue316 2 years ago
but they may still have been a gateway of his life to metal - like a rite of passage.
Means nothing what the initial genre he listened to was.

stench63 2 years ago

Back in the early 80's I was in band that opened for them. One night only but well worth it. Great to see they are still at it. Underrated and underappreciated!!

It was the Cheap Trick Flame/Angels Beyond Salvation tour. For once the foreign band was supporting the Aussies on tour! Saw them at Festival Hall.
