  • Rich world problems: Half Life version.

  • Ironically, the Combing taking over the Earth, decimating the military, and forcing the remaining humans to live in a dystopian world where they fear zombies, overgrown insects, and the random police raids all caused by one guy pushing a crystal into some light solved more problems then it created.

  • I think it would better to move back to riding horses and if you did something bad you go to jail for a reallllllyyyy long time or get executed. And you can always have a weapon with you just in case.

  • It's such a pity that battery technology is lagging so far behind.

I'd bet if we had another space race, the spin off technologies from that would solve more than half our problems.

In other news, scientists have modified yeast such that they produce diesel. So diesel is at this point a renewable resource, for better or worse.

  • oil should be illegal

  • 2:40 = story of the USA Govt. since 1996.

  • so only a alien intervention is humanities only hope

  • Lol. If this were a Combine initiative to jion the combine cause... well they have me convinced :P

  • Beavis Quotables: FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

  • Burn everything.

  • Hey, the Half-Life 2 future is practically a utopia! Just as long as you ignore the totalitarian oppression, everybody but Dr. Breen living in squalor, looming threat of humanity's extinction, invasive alien species wrecking the ecosystem, horrible new diseases like headcrabitis...

  • SEND THIS VIDEO TO THE UNITED NATIONS NOW!

  • Am I the only one who thinks Mike sounds like the pig in Toy Story?

  • @Goooy451 Never thought about it. But you're right.

  • "Hey, uh, whats with the machine gun?"

"Oh, I was gonna try fishing with it."

  • 3:37 Postal Dude

  • It's really, REALLY sad when this video makes perfect sense.

Although I don't think I nor anyone I know is exactly jumping for joy at the thought of genocide followed by a massive global dictatorship in a totalitarian society to solve all of our problems.

  • brain hurt

  • Oh my god, it's educating me, MY BRAIN IS GETTING EATEN ALIVE EEUUAAAAAAAAGH!

  • Damn I never thought that watching a Machinima would open my eyes to the state of the world like this :O

  • why cant these be ads :)

  • 3:57 I thought that was how it already worked :/

  • @MrWiskytangofoxtrot it depends on if you live in the United States or not...

  • urm...you need oil to make plastic

  • How did this one change into an educational video?

  • Then its settled! Wallace Breen 2012!

  • Burn it all... Burn... Burn...

  • @fromsovietrussia1 who doesn't

  • @sexyscorpionredgaga saxton hale doesnt

  • burn lol

  • Killing off 5 billion people did wonders for solving most of our social problems.

  • Well, The thing is, We did screw the Earth over. It's already over. We know that nothing's gonna change. The president isn't gonna call up windmill's for energy, solar power, water energy, We're done. Plus, the combine don't allow reproduction in humans. Which means we just stick around until everyone dies. Unless of course the rebels manage to reproduce and raise children, and even then, you couldn't afford to mass produce more than say.. no, not even a dozen. human race count: less than 100

  • I Like Porn

  • I really like the Amish with guns analogy, while it is ridiculous, you could easily picture it being a reality.

  • How did I not see these 3 years ago? I loved Civil Protection!

  • I'm gonna get my science teacher to show this in class :D

  • vote for alien invasion!

  • BOOM Problem solved.

  • Ross Scotts Alien invasion plan is well adapted if miss informed. In actaullity there are still many oil deposits left unttaped in the oceans(ex: The Continetal Shelf) and in less than friendly and dangerous countries, though I agree with his ideas about renewable resoursces and newer, more fuel efficent vehicles, and getting rid of Gas guzzlers like hummers would do wonders. Unfornately, after the Gulf spill, goverments are pussyfooting around with finding more oil supplies and efficent designs

  • Who needs Aliens? A few Biological weapons will do.

  • headcraps?

  • Someone commented on a Freeman's Mind video that Ross Scott sounds like Hamm from Toy Story. That's even more true in this series. XD

  • ...ahhh the Amish

  • gmod

  • @TheLeonaMan No you ignorant idiot. Its Source SDK.

  • i tried fishing with a machine gun one......good times

  • But then aliens attacked and BOOM! problem solved.

  • I never thought about the combine invasion that way. Because the Combine don't take any of earth's resources (besides oceans and leaving invasive alien species everywhere), nature probably is better off with no one screwing with it any more. Sure, urban areas are even more polluted but the rest of the world pretty much isn't.

  • We should kill 5 billion people

  • @ikosabre That's probably getting closer to really happening.

  • @ikosabre yea the U.N should make a random nuke exploding game where when the country picks the smallist stick there contry is nuked

  • @ikosabre Yeah, but...who's going to do it?

  • Well let's see uuuhhm.......i doubt that induvidual goverments or nations could come to conclusion on who to kill without there being some kind of war. The UN has no balls. Earthquakes, tsunamis and other natural disasters are obviously inadequate. The climate change could do the trick but then the survivors would be fucked so....... yeah, i guess the aliens will have to do it.

  • @ikosabre Yeah, guess you're right. Love the UN bit. XD

  • @ikosabre

Sadly, there's people within the social elite who actually want to do that.

  • Isn't the back music from the Soul Reaver?

  • Burn!

  • Bad Monkey!

  • "bad monkey" is pretty much how I view the world

  • so funy man so funy

  • Funny and true...

  • FOR THE LAST TIME MACHINIMA I WILL NOT FINISH HIM!

  • @sonicdsfan1 Lol, I know! I don't care that some guy got finished! Nor do I care that aliens are among us or how Lord Raiden is feeling today!

  • @sonicdsfan1 annnnd this vid came out 3 years before that shit came out.

  • New sport machine gun fishing!

  • That graveyard looked like a happier version of ravenholm.

  • Who else saw the Gman around 45?

  • Remember, your decomposing body produces fewer greenhouse gasses than your hybrid car! (shows a Golf)

  • OMG I WANT THESE MAPS!

  • burn...burn...

  • Its funny how this was posted back in 08 and yet nothing Mike predicted has even come close to happening. Eat your heart out, Ross Scott.

  • @EccentricWolven23 You should revisit your comments here in 2020 and see if you feel the same way about this video's message. What's really funny is most things mentioned in this video HAVE already happened or are in the process of happening. Peak oil shouldn't be ignored or taken lightly.

  • @gatzad

I imagine there are a number of extremely fuel efficient engines, alternative energy sources, and environmentally friendly production methods created and pitched in the last 40 years, but anything that could challenge big oil gets bought out and shut down.

See the "Bloombox" for instance, the technology works, but it'll never be adopted on a larger scale. Much less will people be made publicly aware or able to buy their own unless the electric companies can profit off it.

  • @gatzad Your right, but its okay, we just have to wait for the combine. We have a 1 in 6 chance of living anyways, sufficient for me.

  • The funny thing is that all this is true.

  • they really have to move their heads like that when they are talking? its creeping me out!

  • NEO AT 3:38!!!!!!

  • There's the guy from Postal 2 at 3:39

  • @dincaadi LMAO

  • It's parts like this where it's hard to ignore how dumb Dave is.

'I've never thought of the omish that way', I think if I was Mike I'd just sigh and walk away at that point.

  • Also, solar cells cost millions to produce

  • Yeah, but right now nuclear is really the only way we can cheaply mass-produce relatively clean energy, solar is only good with no clouds and takes up lots of room, windmills kill eagles and other birds, and hydro destroys habitats.

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128

Dont even mention nuclear. Im sorry but even the most (safe) powerplants can still fail. look at Fukishima. Or the fact radiation from it created ANOTHER exclusion zone. Sure coal is dirty, but id trust that before i trusted something that could make wide swaths of area uninhabitable for years and kill way more people.

  • @TheDuvalMilitia Even the safest cars crash. Or safety pins poke people. Or nonlethal weapons can kill. The safest trains derail. "Unsinkable" ships sink. The safest planes crash. I could go on forever. The chemicals we use everyday would kill the world 2x over, and render it uninhabitible

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128 What a great world we live in -.-

  • @Kdunkham The point is, you can't make everything completely safe

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128 we should just burn it all, burn everything :P

  • @TheDuvalMilitia

Thorium Reactors random youtuber, Thorium Reactors...

  • so the best way is to kill 6 billion people?

  • We should've just burnt it all.. Burn... BURN..

  • I would so be Dave in all these videos and in life...oh wait I am. The female version but I am. haha.

  • @Chynaash ...You wanna burn the world away with some napalm?

  • @Leadlobotamist yeah sure, why not? ; )

  • @Chynaash Haha, don't sound so reluctant, you'd be surprise how much fun arson can be

  • This is like a presidential campaign... Vote Combine for '12! :D

  • @rrod197 The Combine - Why choose a lesser evil?

  • @rrod197 I'd vote for them.

  • Yeah... i agree with Dave... Burn... Burn.... Lawl

  • Killing off 5 million people sure did work wonders.... -Dave

  • Now nuke the place!

  • I still say the construction of windmills off the coasts would be very practical. They can provide tons of energy and anyone who has been to a beach knows what i mean. The ocean is a flat plain with endless potential to harvest wind for electrical energy. Improving the structural support of the windmill will also allow them to be constructed in areas that storms could potentially cause damage. But no, thats a terrible idea and nobody would want that

  • @scortch30 Right, and everybody's bitching in my area about how it would be a huge eyesore. There is a simple response to that, "See that tiny dot on the horizon? That's what you will see." But still they say it spoils the view. (They're rich bitches by the way)

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128 Hell i wouldn't mind seeing windmills on clear days at the beach every year when im on vacation.

  • @scortch30 You wouldn't even see 'em!

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128 well...it would be easier if they were closer to shore. (maybe 10-15 miles) Shallow water, safer in storms, less water-tight seals on electric lines and so on. I mean open water in a storm is bad, just search above and find videos of absolutely terrifying waves that could swallow up a windmill no problem.

  • @scortch30 The waves are actually bigger near the shore, the seafloor pushes them up

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128 I was referring to rogue waves but yes, closer to shore may not be as good of an idea.

  • @scortch30 Rogue waves tend to happen in VERY strong storms, but as they get closer to shore they tend to dissipate because of resistance from the seafloor, and air resistance from being forced up

  • 4.11 Space Rangers theme...woohoo

  • this cartoon is smarter than 95% of politicians

  • that's the answer! we just have to kill of 80% of the population! ill start with the weeny little bitches at the bar!

  • 3:25

The aliens from the outer space showed up!

  • why dont we all just get super powers and run super fast and fly places :D

  • Poor Postal dude.

  • Ross Scott should be president.

  • @LizaMMX so he gets no Power and everyone bitches at him and blames him for everything!

  • @zebart9012 ....Good point. Ross Scott should lead the nation with a good percentage of power.

  • oils well that ends well

  • Bad monkey!

  • we should have just burned it all, burn every thing...burn...burn...burn

  • man this has changed the way i looked at life... "the next day" nothing changes

  • God, this game is so beautiful. It's so much older yet looks a million times better than any games out today.

  • I want to see a game based on Civils Protection- Mike and Dave haracters. Their lives, missions, woman, etc. Their life in 'militia cops' are preatty cool :)

  • new plan, earth gets invaded, join the combine!

  • Thumbs up if you hate ads!!!!!!!!

  • @crippleman100 If Google removes ads from Youtube, how should they get money? Are you prepared to pay Google money to get them to remove ads from Youtube videos for you?

  • @Pokechar2 I never said to remove them i just saying that they are annoying.

  • @Pokechar2

That's just dumb. Google puts ads on to make MORE money silly.

Before google, there weren't any ads.

  • I think their trying to send a message. But i dont know! oh ho ho!

  • thumbs up if you've seen the postal dude at 3:39

  • 1:59 burn 2:01 burn

  • Thank god the Shu'ulithoi and combine will invade on 2012. Thats my apocolipse idea anyway. But things would be like in these videos. We just have a change in culture, and government. plus some other minor changes. It would actualy do us a world of good to be invaded by the Combine.

  • @TheSoldiersMind okay, if your so okay with the idea you can be one of the 80% dead :)

  • @Tarmack002 It will depend. A max of 20% most likely.

  • Lucky future people

  • For your information,people..this guy,Ross Scott also created Freeman's Mind

  • 102 people failed fishing with machine guns! :D

  • If you look at 3:08 to the right on the mountain thing. It looks like a guy on top of a girl having sexy time.

  • whats the map at 1:44? please reply.

  • hey uhh, whats with the machine gun? :P

oh. i was going to try fishing with it :3 lol

  • @gelu4056 I think 733t13 is referring to the dams and electric cars rather than the mass murder aspects of the combine rule. 5 billion dead would be helpful for food shortages, but you would have a hard time convincing the EU

  • @733t13 what solution? killing of 5 billion people?

  • There is climate change, I will not deny that, but most of the evidence shown to me saying it is caused by man has numerous logical fallacies and sometimes flat out lies. The truth is there is as much politics behind pushing global warming as there is behind denying it.

  • We really need to switch to Dark Fusion...

  • Isn't that postal dude at 3:40?

  • They all sucked anyway

  • Gman = Political Leader lol

  • Huh, the story is like a dream. like "Awww jea, thats cool. Keep goin, awesome story bro." But when it was over, it was like waking up, like "Ahh fuck, ist over dammit. I wish i could start dreaming this dream again."

I think the story itselfe is like a dream. We never make such a U-turn....... unless we get fucked by aliens......

  • we need alien overlords

  • did anyone noticed at 3:42 the counter-strike map, compound?? :)

  • Ross Scott is a genius who needs his own tv show. everyone would be watching his stuff if they werent to busy watching reruns of family guy on tbs

  • @mrguermo1 Coming to TBS in some other year or IDK: Ross Scott's Nation

  • is it just me or did anyone see the Postal Dude on that conveyor belt?

  • Anyone else want to push the skip ad button but wanted to see what the ad was

  • How did they get the Crab Synth to walk??

  • The solution presented here is very practical. So long as the rivers keep flowing and the dams are maintained, the energy won't run out. Along with the switch to electric cars.

The only problem is the dams still mess up the environment, it could radically alter the part it's located and flood, killing off the native wildlife. But it STILL wouldn't be nearly as bad as what we're doing now.

So why doesn't society just pick the lesser of two evils and be done with it?

  • @733t13 you do know this is a joke right?

  • @jamjam536

"Civil Protection: Oil's Well the video I created (and the ONLY video with a "message" I ever plan to make) that sums up what peak oil means. It was originally made for an environmental contest where I had to list a solution. In reality I'm not sure there really is a solution to this unless everyone were to lower their standard of living, which I don't see happening voluntarily."

From Ross Scott HIMSELF! On the Accursed Farm Forums. Also, his solution does seem very practical.

  • @jamjam536 It's not a joke though. It's what is happening right now.

  • @733t13 Hey buddy, the world is fine. The earth heating up is natural. Oh and we are not switching to electric cars.

  • @Soldierman870

He he, you might want to re check the last part.

  • @733t13 cause some people a. want those fish to stay alive and b. some other animals relies on those fish to survive

  • @tjl1297

I didn't think, it would also affect the fish as well. Fish that get caught in the dam sliced up by the turbines. When I made the comment, however, I was talking about the flooding affecting the land-based animals and the plant-life.

  • @733t13 Actually a italian scientist "says" that he has invented cold fusion, so we'll see about that.

Sahara isn't used to anything so put solar panels there, so is the roofs. Put solar panels on those too. And there, we've solved the problem.

  • @Xaeleep

Yeah, that is simple but brilliant. I don't think (if I'm wrong, someone correct me on this) that putting large solar panels will actually mess with the environment as much as hydroelectric dams would.

Also, another avenue of energy: Geothermal. A combined switch of Geothermal, Hydroelectric dams, solar panels, and the switch from gas guzzling cars to electrical ones could potentially solve the energy crisis. (again, one who knows more say so)

  • @733t13 because it can in no way keep up with nuclear power. I don't remember but nuclear power stands for around 80 or 85% of all energy production. wind power and water power are essential for back-up but that's their only job. HEll man I get your point, oil will run out, nuclear power, also, some day, but there's really no effective alternatives. You want warm houses and electricity, don't you? Activists, not you, are such hipocrites. The Whine and then go home to their oilheated houses etc.

  • @733t13 People are afraid of change :(

  • @Droits21

Very true, one of the comments actually did seem like that. But obfuscated with rudeness, as many people tend to do to hide fear.

  • @733t13 Another problem is that the electric cars electric part doesn't magically appear, it comes form somewhere (i.e. oil, coal, nuclear, hydro, etc.)

  • @PizzaPirateNinja8128

I would think that using electricity based from oil would not be bad as using it directly.

Also, this would go in tandem with other electricity sources. (Hydro, Geothermal, Wind)

  • @733t13 You're right, we can do that, and hopefully get a sustainable alternative fuel source: fusion, mass solar/wind production, less destructive hydroplants, etc.

  • you do realize you would be beaten 10 times a day and fed only hay water and cat food also the fact you would killed just for talking

  • *whispers*

    Burn , burn . . .

    :D :D :D

  • 3:37 - 3:40 That's The Postal Dude on the conveyor belt, They Killed The Postal Dude! well, i guess killing him would make the world a better place.

  • that guy kinda sounds like the guy who did freemans mind (MIKE)

  • @DrSmallPenis That because he is :)

  • @DrSmallPenis it is, ross scott. he does both freemans mind and civil protection

  • Getin a little deep over a YouTube vid arnt we?
