this doesnt only happen in one place i had a friend who died a couple monthes ago because he was bullied for being gay. Even though I don't think of myself as gay, I went to prom with my best girlfriend. No biggie. And we even danced with a girl with a disability. Again, no big deal. It was great!

How do we know that the girls friends weren't threatened by the school? They could have told her friends that they wont walk at graduation if they didn't keep their mouths shut.
The sad part of this whole thing isn't that the school tricked her. But the fact that she has no friends. Due to the fact that any true friend would have told her that she is being tricked and to not attend the country club BUT to go where the other party was being held.

Sounds more like the second prom was set up by the student body, and not the school itself. If the student body wishes to host a private event and invite only those that they choose, they are well within their rights. They may be petty and lack compassion, but can invite whoever they want. We don't know why the prom was cancelled. Perhaps the student body made it known that they would not attend if cross-dressing students were allowed to show up. Some might see that as a joke.
That was such a horrible thing to do! But I'm happy they had a good time at their prom. I'm a lesbian as well. But that hurt me that they included the kids with disables!

I never went to my prom either; I'm straight and physically disabled, and I was told that my girlfriend (at the time) was "ineligible" because she went to a rival school-- but she'd graduated four years before.

The sad part of this whole thing isn't that the school tricked her. But the fact that she has no friends. Due to the fact that any true friend would have told her that she is being tricked and to not attend the country club BUT to go where the other party was being held.

Sounds more like the second prom was set up by the student body, and not the school itself. If the student body wishes to host a private event and invite only those that they choose, they are well within their rights. They may be petty and lack compassion, but can invite whoever they want. We don't know why the prom was cancelled. Perhaps the student body made it known that they would not attend if cross-dressing students were allowed to show up. Some might see that as a joke.
