I did read somewhere in the Bible that we shouldnt quarrel over words. Doing this is causing division in the body of Christ by fighting about the word differences.
KJV preachers seem a bit hostile. I use the NKJV and its fine. I feel the Holy Spirit when I read it. Its dogmatic people that make others feel like theyre serving the devil or something if they dont read from the KJV only. Yes, the KJV may be the most accurate, but God also can reach people through other versions.
I reject any translation of the bible which discredits either the resurrection of Jesus in Mark 16, or the lesson of the woman caught in adultery in John 8. If those things aren't part of the scriptures then, IMO, there really is very little point to the rest of it. While it's not the most readable translation I recommend using the YLT, or at least double-checking with on anything important because it is the most accurate.
@MrIknowpeace Well, the thing is, a scroll was found called the "Isaiah scroll" which is as close to word for word as you can get and it is aged at over 2000 years old. That testifies to the non-corruption of the text the KJV came from.
The Pastor above wants homosexuals put to death. The KJV BIble was commissioned by Britain's most famous Homsexual Monarch-King James. If Pastor Anderson had had his way King James would have been killed before he could be King and he would never have commissioned the KJV Bible, which, ironically Pastor Anderson claims to love!
You know what's REALLY strange? ALL the mistranslations in the King James. I'm sorry. I don't speak Elizabethen English. Guess what? Neither do you. I have neighbors who don't even speak English and they've NEVER even heard of King James. His ORIGINAL Words are pure. You are the one who is "differentiating." Pharisee.
Can you really trust any Bible ....I can't read Hebrew...... before the internet they could have changed the bible 1000 times slowly over the course of history to fit whatever agenda......I'm not saying that's what happened but if men are evil enough to alter the "word of God today".....Then I'm sure they've been playing this game for a while....
ok lets get one thing straight the whole debate on this new age bible versions* (( a book by G.A Riplinger))) is that they DEMOTE God and if you are to read any of them quite frankly you will see the screwed up theology on which it is based.
i get that the king James is a closer translation then most but its not 100% word for word translation itself so if thats what you want learn Hebrew and Greek and read the true original version
This is way too amusing... I absolutely love watching Evangelicals argue over their Bible... seems like lots of Christian denominations all have the "truth" yet can't even agree on a correct translation...
Maybe we should.. you know.. stop using the Bible to guide our lives and instead apply some critical thinking? Maybe a little enlightenment.. some neuroscience, a tad of reasoning skills, etc.
@iesureddo wow how can you say such a comment? Why don't you take up Islam book if corruption of the word of God is of no consequence? The corruption in NKJV is blasphemous. Look up Ecc 3:11 in both versions and you will be surprised. This is only one blasphemous example.
What Bible did Jesus read out of? not KJV... None of these translations were written yet even the King James Version is a translation also you know. In the old days when it was first written the king James Version was a modern translation I wonder what did the people say about that translation then when it first came out.
Amazing!?!? A freak puts a video on youtube about absolute crap and just like crap it brings out the flies and maggots. Some of these people commenting are a joke. If all translations are of satan do you read the original manuscripts??? I doubt it. Wolfcats2, why do you believe that? Because some idiot said so??? Is the Hebrew and Greek ok??? What makes the KJV, a translation, any more God's word than the NASB that took the same Greek and Hebrew manuscripts and translated them? PLZ THINK!
At 0:42:34 I noticed something else... the verse Gen. 24:47 has the jewellery translated as "earring" in the KJV and as"nosering" in the NKJV. When I looked this up in the Strongs Hebrew-Greek Concordance, I saw that the word in Hebrew is "neh'-zem"H5141 Defined as: "an uncertain meaning; a nose ring: - earring, jewel." And it is placed on Rebekkah's "face" or "af" H639 in Hebrew. This Hebrew word means "properly the nose, nostril, or face." So the NKJV seems more accurate on this 1 verse.
I noticed something... in 1Thess.5:22 (mentioned at 0:40:58 ) The KJV says abstain from every "appearance" of evil and the NKJV says abstain from every "form". Well, according to the Strongs' Hebrew-Greek concordance, the greek word there is "idos" G1491 which means both: "form, appearance, fashion and sight." Plus, on an online dictionary the the word "form" is defined first as "external appearance" in modern English. Both translations are correct.
I don't know but know Jesus Christ is our everything that is, was and forever will be,
Praise ABBA father forever and ever, thankful am i for the Holy Spirit who will reveal ALL truth to us, Love everyone regardless!, believer or non-believer, Holy God is much more! than we can ever think, trust in the Creator, Redeemer & Comforter in everything, GOD BLESS you all in the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.
The King James isn't really any better than the other versions there's some 6000 ADDED words, plus numerous translating errors & interpretation liberties taken but it does NOT step on the DEITY of Jesus Christ like most other translations. man HAS had his grubby mitts on,but God designed the Word in such a way, that the original meanings can NOT B tampered with by man no matter how hard he tried The Lord has done this with the etymology"the science of words and their origins of his written Word.
@zipfreer THE BIBLE IS THE MARK OF THE BEAST! King james born 6 1566 6th out of the house of stewart, authorized 66 books and put it in everyones hand and called it the word of God. Jesus is the word of God and he is in the spirit. Satan has deceived this whole world in the name of God. THE BIBLE IS THE MARK OF THE BEAST.
Revelation was telling us not to take from the words of the prophecy of 'this book', i.e., the Revelation given to St. John.Generally, to elevate even the beloved KJV is uninspired. The KJV has withstood the centuries only because anglophone believers lacked the resources to obtain and market superior translations of even earlier texts from original Bible languages on a scale to compete with it.
@BelieveandtrustJesus "I guess youre going to hell then, since you believe you gotta repent of your sins to be saved, you keep lying i.e. sinning."
No, repentance is not a part of our justification. Our own righteousness is not what makes us righteous before God. We are justified by Grace through faith. However, if repentance is not present, you do not have faith. This is why the apostles spoke of "Repent and be baptized" hand in hand with coming to Christ. You don't understand the Gospel bro
@BelieveandtrustJesus I grew up in the Independent Fundamental Baptist church. By the grace of God I have been freed of the legalism and traditionalism that comes with that church. These people grew up with the KJV, so obviously their intuition is going to tell them that anything that sounds different is changing God's word. Why the KJV though? Why not be "Geneva" only, as that was the historical Protestant Bible? The KJV was a product of the Church of England...i.e. Catholicism.
@BelieveandtrustJesus .... The translators of the KJV did not believe in eternal security, whereas the NKJV translators DID. 1 Corinthians 1:18 very obviously uses saved in the "present" tense. And even though Paul uses the present tense here, he is not implying that salvation is a process. He is simply saying that people are being saved. Yes he is speaking to saved people. More and more people were being added every day though. Do you not see this?
@BelieveandtrustJesus Sir, out of all due respect, you have been trapped into legalistic religion. Being a KJV Only-ist only proves your ignorance and double standards. Do you not realize that the Textus Receptus was written by a Catholic monk Erasmus? Do you not know that nearly all of the KJV translators were in the Church of England (i.e. Catholic without a Pope)? By this same standard the people who gave you your Bible are not saved. The translators of the KJV did not believe in....
At 9:05 Mr Sanderson splits hairs over John 1:3. " All things were made BY him" the Greek word for "by" according to Strong's lexicon (G1223) is διά or dia. This ultimately means "through" (as translated in most English versions), but when talking "of means" can be translated "by" or "by the means of". Both essentially mean the same. Christ made all things. The KJV translators interpreted the Greek to say that Christ was doing the making and not just directing the work.
Look, anyone who is looking to this man for truth will not find it. If you really want to know the truth without attending a local church, go to -onlinecop.webs.com- and become a member.
Just because it's saying "being saved" as opposed to already being saved is not going against eternal security. Paul is not speaking in a singular tense, it is plural - "us". Obviously more and more people were being saved everyday. This is what Paul meant in the original Greek, as the word IS in the present tense.
If only this guy would actually preach the Bible. Has he even heard of expository preaching???
King James was a fan of Shakespeare.... thats it ppl... plz know your history! He had ppl copy two other bibles and made his like shakespeare... do you know what bibles he used? stop acting like the boogie man is gonna get you.... because ppl who can't even read go to heaven.... now what? all you need to know is how Christ died for your sins.... hummm ! give your life to Him and you will be saved... THATS IT ! this must be why sooo many are leaving the Baptist church
Sorry but even the KJV is a perversion, and I used to be KJV only. Difference is that I studied beyond the confines of seminary and the western translations (Textus Receptus, etc.) and found real truth and direct translation from the original texts and language, and it's not Greek...... The KJV is full of mistranslations and errors.
I'm a Christian but its suspicious all this KJV stuff because 777 are the the divine numbers from the"Book of Law"by Aliester Crowley. You can see that the movie"Book of Eli"its just an anagram of "Book of Lie"refering to the KJV in the movie, so Book of Eli/Lie/Law its refering to Aliester Crowley's book & if you see the roots of Gail Riplinger(KJV defender),i mean she studied on the illuminati oxford university,so i think KJV is like Thelema Crowley's teachings disguised with a Christian cover
Facts are facts. No one speaks the king's English any longer. You want to win people to Jesus but go out on the street and preach in old English many words of which most of you KJV supporters don't understand without a dictionary that was valid in 1611. My God was powerful enough to create all that is and I am sure He is powerful enough to give me His Word in the English of today not 400 years ago. Stop arguing over translations and win people to Jesus!
The King James is really a weak translation. If you study the greek and hebrew, and the original language textual basis of the KJV is quite errant, the textus rececptus. Its a late text based on only 7 manuscripts that date to the late 1st millenium AD. The newer translations are based largely on much earlier, and better manuscripts.
Amen brother keep preaching the truth You are surely a brother in Christ i can see the anointing on you brother keep up the good work your an inspiration to me in my walk just to know that your preaching the true word of God and not a watered down politically correct version of it God bless you brother keep it up
@tigerlilly66 our opinions of "intact" may differ. You must believe that means "copied verbatim, perfectly translated." Just gooogle "errors in kjv" and do a little studying. I would agree KJV may be the best translation of the original inspired text, but it is not PEFECTLY translated. You seem to think "heaven and earth may pass away but this paper book will not." Interesting.
Kind of a waste of an hour. It's foolish to believe the KJV is flawless. Satan has had his hand in most translations. Free Masons have their fingerprints on most current translations...but G-d is able to keep His Word intact. Too many Christians today just like to feel they have something on other Christians......pride (again Satan trying to destroy.) someone said it below: writers were inspired, not the translators. Peace.
@Scttlaw =You say that it is "foolish" to believe that the KJV is "flawless", yet turn around and say that God is able to keep his Word intact! OK, if the KJV is not flawless, which Bible in English is? If you cannot tell me one that is, then we English speakers have a BIG problem! Since the KJV has been around nearly 400 years, but is "flawed", either God has preserved his words (plural) or he is a liar since he said Heaven and earth would pass away but his words (plural) would NOT pass away!
20000 mistakes in the king james which was wirtten by "men" anyone can come up with a good argument for what translation we should read i attend a pentecostal church read a new king james bible feel that preachings should be about obediance and the sacrifice of jesus christ our lord and savior if you really want to make a good argument learn greek aramic and hebrew
actually king james was a black man. they say white man wrote the bible. they have images of christ as being caucasian but in the book of daniel and revelations it shows that christ is a dark skinned man. he was not a homosexual or he would of contradicted his translations from hebrew to english. shalom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for you sanderson1611! While the King James translators rounded off the language to the nearest decimal the "received" Hebrew and Greek texts show every boundary of salvation and the devil's snares. But keep one thing in mind, I pray, that Christ never spoke in vehemence but only in earnest. This is where the screamers work against Christ when they quote Him. But I commend you that you always return to a level head in your message. Thank you. Your brother forever through Grace, brother Gary
I agree, the New King James Bible is blaphemous and does not correctly teach of Gods will. Homosexuals are an abomination and they are evil, we as a Christian nation need to ban the gays because they are no better than child molesters and serial killers , we need to take our country back from the gays and send they to prison where they belong.
@JesusChristRulesYOU The NKJV teaches that homosexuality is a sin as well, so I don't see how one comment leads to the other here. I should think you would do God's will towards them and wish they would repent rather than punished also.
@JesusChristRulesYOU U cannot decide fait towards other men. They may be evil or do wrong things but it is not your decision. Romans12:19-21. Vengeance is Gods. Also look up matt6:15: 18:35. Be forgiving. Be loving as God asks. In Romans 12,19-21 it says if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Be and act Christ like to be a true christian
when jesus was on earth doing his will of healing and teaching; did he judge anyone for being a homosexual? or a whore? or for a man cheating on his wife?...NO.....he came down to heal and teach, not to judge, so why are so many so called christians judging? you have no right; how many times have the bible been re-written by man?....no one knows exactly what the real truth is and you sure as hell dont.........
Perhaps, but lemme say this. 1611 king james especially blatant errors in it. For example in Matt 26:36 it says instead of "then cometh Jesus" it says "Then cometh Judas"!! How can 1611 version be the only valid translation when it contains such a horrible error?
I really think we all need to pray for this man....it's obvious how full of anger he is! That's not from God. James 1:20 (NIV)
20 for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. I think this video is a form of taking the name of the Lord in vain..he keeps saying, "In Jesus name"...well, I don't think Jesus wanted His name misused like this.
Whew! so supposedly ishtar should be used and you assert is equal to Passover and king Herod delayed the trial of Yeshua to participate in Passover? Unbelievable! Not one concept is lost in a KJV so not one thing is inaccurate whatsoever and you assume it is somwhow is errant? Only satan would say those things.
You KJV only folks are an interesting group! I read the NIV and have for 25 years! But wait. I also use a Greek and Hebrew to study the Scriptures, If I need to dive deep into the Word!....The problem is that you think that you have the only Word, when you have a translated version yourself!....It's just another way to divide the body of Christ! So sad!
I quite like the NKJV, the KJV was concocted by a homosexual of course of which the greatest hebrew scholar of his day Hugh Broughton said.....Oh nevermind, look it up!
@Glorybound109 You realize that as soon as she was found to be a lesbian they removed her from the project, right? You also know she wasn't a translator, right?
@vedinthorn The fact is, is that the niv, nkjv, nlt, whatever you want to call them are corrupt. We did a bible study at church one night about why the KJV is the word of God. When I get my husbands noteds I will post them for you. In Revelations 22:18-19 It clearly states if you add to or take away you will be taken out of the book of life. The niv took out over 40 scriptures, they took out the BLOOD!
@Glorybound109 Revelation actually says your part of the tree of life will be taken away, not book. Erasmus (the inventor of the Textus Receptus, though not the originator of the name of it) got the word 'book' from the Latin since he never had a greek manuscript for that part of Revelation. The NIV doesn't take out the mentioning of blood entirely: only in the places where it's missing in Greek. The phrase "through his blood" is still there a few verses down. It was a copyist mistake.
@vedinthorn KJV "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,If any man shall add unto these things,God shall add unto him the plaques that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,God shall take away his part out of the BOOK OF LIFE, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Revelation 22:18-19 GEE looks like to me its says book of life. Enough said.
@Glorybound10922:18 I testify to the one who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described36 in this book. 22:19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life37 and in the holy city that are described in this book.
The Greek word in verse 19 is "xulou" in EVERY non-Textus Receptus manuscript, which means "tree". Erasmus messed up.
@Glorybound109 what about the many mistakes found in the king james wow that kinda makes you wanna research a bit more than this video huh cuz yup it does say book of life
KJVO: My question has always been, "What does Scripture say about which Bible TRANSLATION to use?" If it says ANYTHING about this, PLEASE SHOW me... if not, PLEASE realize this is nothing but a "doctrine of man".
I use a translation that doesn't add to or remove from the Word of God. Why KJV? Because I Trust God that he gave the English speaking people His Word 400 years ago into the English Language. I submit to the Word of God and the God of the Word.
The ol' Authorized King James Version was written by the Angican Church which was in conjunction with the Roman Catholic Church to compete Against the Putitan Protestant's "Geneva Bible"..the KJV wasn't Even written as a Protestant Bible..the Puritan Protestants would Not Dare to use it for the 1st 100 yrs..they came to North America with their Protestant Bible which was The GENEVA BIBLE! The KJV that's available Now is Actually the 4th REVISION From the Original 1611 Version...
You cannot build an argument on a platform that you have not proven to be true. You rightly use scripture to show that God's word is forever true and should never be changed but you apply those scriptures only to the KJV. You use the KJV as a basis that you have never proven. You cannot compare another version to the KJV until you establish the KJV as being God's only translation. Does the spanish, german or other versions have the exact wording as the KJV? NO!! Then they can't be right???
If God can translate his word into any english, then why didn't he translate his name "YAHUWEH" into Greek or English? Because God didn't translate the different versions of the bible, man did. Man took away the name YAHUWEH over 7,000 times in the KJV of the Old Testament, and substituted the english word "LORD". The KJV (all versions) are merely the work of satan, and people buy it hook line and sinker.
The "narrow way" in the Bible isn't talking about getting saved. The narrow way represents your life. It's difficult because once you've become a Christian, you have two natures: the Holy Spirit and your sinful human nature. Both are at constant battle with each other. It's not saying that it's difficult to get saved. It's saying that it's hard to be a Christian in a sinful world that hates and rejects God.
use the wycliffe bible or the geneva bible, the KJV is the official freemason version. king james was a freemason and hated the geneva version cause he said it was a threat to his empire so he made the tamperd KJV people use today. great sermon man. peace
this guy's funny with his 'amigo' jokes and stuff, but is funniest when you see how illogically he thinks. Applying Jesus' words out of context to a 17th-century English translation text. Well done.
The KJV is a great Translation, but NOT the Word of God preserved in English alone. The Geneva Bible preceeded the KJV...Why isnt the Geneva placed on the level of the KJV? Because people WORSHIP the KJV...and 4 the record...the 1611 KJV contained the Apocrypha found in the Latin Vulgate...FACT
Thank you Steve Anderson for exposing your nature with your radical unchristian activities. You pick and choose your scriptures and ignore doctrines based on the way you feel. After 3 weeks of extensive research, you have helped me accept the NKJV. Your witness is terrible saying you hate Obama and wish him dead. SHAME ON YOU! What happened to not touching God's annointed like David? What happened to praying for our leaders? You do not speak for Christians. You smack of a cult leader.
This guy is well meaning, but I believe the issue is the RT, MT vs. the CT. The New Testament was given in Greek. The original writers were inspired, not the translators.
The Bible is a Bronze Age book of myth. After the unicorns and talking animals and men walking on the water and a 600 year old goat herder building a Titanic out of desert shrubs, the Prince rides up on his White Horse, rescues the princess and takes her away to live happily ever after in his mansion in the sky. And you are worrying about which VERSION to read? That's amazing.
@Imaginefree69 the importance of the biblical unicorn is not so much its specific identity—much as we would like to know—but its reality. the bible is clearly describing a real animal. the unicorn mentioned in the bible was a powerful animal possessing one or two strong horns—not the fantasy animal that has been popularized in movies and books. cont'd
@Imaginefree69 whatever it was, it is now likely extinct like many other animals. to think of the biblical unicorn as a fantasy animal is to demean god’s word, which is true in every detail.
@Imaginefree69 prior to the global flood, the earth's vegetation, terrain and atmosphere were much different than our present day earth. men lived to sometimes 900 years old and the middle east had forrests. read the book "the genisis flood", it will give you reason to entertain the noah account
this is herecy... kjv is not inspired. if it were,
we would be called dippers, however because of fear (not of the lord but of king james) the translators decided not to use the english word dip for the greek word baptiso when pertained to the act of bein baptized after saved, they used it in other places. like when the man went and dipped his body into the water. the word baptize was made up from them from baptiso so they would not die... doesnt sound like they were inspired there to me
this is herecy... god wrote using people who were inspired by him, they wrote being inspired in greek and hebrew. there is no other bible that is perfect if the kjv is perfect please will u tell me why they did not translate the greek word baptiso Dip (a perfectly equalivant word) instead they made up a word (baptize) do u know why because good old king james would of killed em if they used dipped. no translation is perfect nor inspired only one bible is inspired and that is the greek n hebrew
@cjbrake - Fortunately, God has preserved the original autographs to 99.5% accuracy. This guys has no clue how translations are done. Even the original KJV translators spoke about the problems they couldn't solve. Yes, modern translations do translate for "meaning" rather than performing "transliteration". If you don't like that, get a literal translation. However, if you do, then you'll need to know the idioms and literary figures to give it "meaning". Modern bible's are simply skipping a step.
@jamesglory1 google "watch unto prayer" and go to that website. look up the article "shock and awe". this article gives a reasoned response to the kjv only point of view and shows the nkjv to be closer to the greek textus receptus and hebrew masoric texts
I once read the results of a comprehensive test which had been performed on ten different Bible translations to determine their literality. The KJV finished 9th, with only the "Good News Bible" proving less literal. According to the test, even the NIV was more literal. The NKJV was almost twice as literal as the KJV, hence, almost twice as good in that respect alone.
@Davertin For myself I choose not to take the Bible literally at all. "The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil?" I wonder what that looks like? How LITERALLY stupid can that be?
@Davertin - The NIV more literal than the KJV? According to who? The Jesus Seminar? How in the world can a dynamic translation be more accurate than a literal translation?
The purpose of the test was to check a translation against itself for internal consistency, mostly by testing the translation of Greek/English words used in one location in contrast to another location. So it tested one very important aspect of literality, and not necessarily literality on the whole. And as far as internal consistency was concerned, the KJV did only half as well as the NKJV---which is a better translation for multiple reasons.
It's all about the manuscripts. KJV only people ought to learn to say Textus Receptus only. It's the manuscripts that are dangerous, and the translations only go off of them.
Man, I'm sorry but every time I look of the hebrew and greek of these scriptures you're using Steven I find something else wrong with what you said. Gen 24:47, the hebrew says "enzm olaphe" which literally translates as "the pendent on the nose of her." Sorry for your luck man.
ok I lied. I also wanted to address the grammatical issue with 1 Cor. 1:18. Again looking at the greek, we find that the word "saved" here in the KJV is not necessarily the best english reflection of the word used in the greek. In the greek the tense of this word is the "present-tense participle." And that would make the English translation of "being saved" more correct because the present-tense participle infers an ongoing action. It simply means people continue to be saved.
one more thing and I'm done. The greek would translated "narrow" in the KJV in Matt 7:14 is only translated that way 1 of the 10 times it is found in the KJV NT. It appears 9 other times and is mostly translated as "trouble", "troubled", "afflicted", and so on. (all in the KJV). So maybe those other translations are a little closer with words like "difficult" and "hard" are a lot closer to the original texts. Steven, you brag about reading other Bibles but don't know the original. Learn greek!
I have a problem with the fact that this guy uses the translation he's arguing for as the proof text for his argument. I would find his arguments much more convincing if he took us to the greek texts and showed us the greek words in each of these passages it would be much more convincing. And furthermore, King James never did the final sign-off on the KJV. He did see the final version but wanted a few things changed before it went to print and never signed on it....
@drg860 I found my salvation through reading a little Gideon NKJV Bible, but I would not recommend it. I believe God has the power to translate his truth to your eyes, even through a perverted translation. HOWEVER, he does this in spite of the perversion to demonstrate his power of salvation. I am a firm believer in the KJV. God said His word would be spread all through out the world. The ONE version that is used most in all missions around the world is the KJV. God is not a liar.
@amandawonderboy -Doesn't mean he is the one behind it. Many people have assumed unbiblical things from the errors of the KJV, and besides, it removes his name almost 7000 times. If I had a book for my children and someone removed my name from the book...I'd sure be ticked-off, know what I'm saying? 'LORD' isn't a name. Beelzebub means 'Lord of flies' and is used for the devil. Jehovah or Yahweh at least preserves the tetragrammaton....and is a proper name.
What christian here can tell me the name of Adam's first wife? All bibles have been changed, The Old Testament is an edited version of The Torah, and many words from The New Testament had several meanings when translated roughly, so yes things have been changed but at the end of the day Christs' message is still there. Love Jah, Love your neighbor, Be good and rejoice in Jah's love, and Obey Jah's commandments. if you want a true bible reading read a torah, and research the new testament
@Trigun06 Better yet, for those who can't read Hebrew, find a good Hebrew to English translation. Based on the little comparisons I have done, I find the KJV to be the best.
The only reason the KJV is revered without question by much of the older generation is because their parents and THEIR parents before them revered it. It's like that old line from "Fiddler on the Roof"---"TRADITION!"
Some people are willing to bow themselves and hundreds of others to kingdom come (no pun intended) for what they believe, but it don't mean they're doing anything other than disintegrate into the dust afterward. '72 virgins' my butt!
The Greek verb is a passive present participle, so the correct translation of sōzomenois is "are being saved"...Salvation is a process of justification (we have been saved), sanctification (we are being saved), and glorification (we will be saved). Anyone who has a basic knowledge of either the Greek language or New Testament theology would know this. Pastors should know at least one of these, if not both.
Oh my, oh my. Is this guy for real?? This man is officially the worst preacher I have ever heard. The irony is he is attacking the Bible the word of God. Every video of him is simply attacking others. If I can read 6 different translations and the message is the same EVERY time and grow closer to God then in what way is the devil's work showen?
The King James Bible holds copyright laws with the publisher of that particular Bible (Zondervan for example). You've incriminated yourself for saying that. Also, why in the world would you sooner hang out with half-naked "Christians" who read the King James and not a Godly, modest individual who sees things differently (not to mention the right way)? 1 John says that the light has no place in the darkness. By doing that, you're compromising your faith. Some "Christian" you are.
@Imaginefree69 Yes, the text is. I'm simply talking about copying Bibles themselves. That's illegal. They're licensed by the publishing company (each company includes specific, licensed features unique to them that they use in their Bibles). If you want to download the plain text off the internet, that's perfectly legal. However, what he mentioned was not.
...And here we see the beginning of the next Westboro Baptist Church. Who won't you criticize Pastor Anderson? Are you the only Christian who truly understands the Word of God?
Do not criticize each other, brothers. Whoever makes it his habit to criticize his brother or to judge his brother is judging the Law and condemning the Law. But if you condemn the Law, you are not a doer of the Law but its judge.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge—the one who can save and destroy. So who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4: 11-12
@ApplesAreLethal Why don't Christians know what their Bibles say? Why is it that they claim it as their authority, use it to judge others and tell them how to live, worship it, even, but cannot be bothered to actually open it and read it. Why is that? I was a pastor and Bible teacher for over 40 years and I never could understand that. If you can help me with that I would really appreciate it. I even had a Christian try to tell me just this evening that there are no unicorns in the Bible!
@ApplesAreLethal HUMANS MADE FROM DIRT: The bible says humans are made from dirt. Genesis 2:7, 3:19 Or that man was made from dirt and woman from his rib. Genesis 2:21 - 24 Depending on which version of Creation you read. Science tells us that the ocean is the womb of life on earth. As neither of us was there to observe the process, let's look and see what humans are really made of: Hmmm... Nearly all salt water and a few minerals. Sea water.
TALKING SNAKE: "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. Genesis 3:1 - 6 TALKING DONKEY: The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?" Numbers 22:28 - 30 INSECTS HAVE 4 LEGS Leviticus 11:20-23 "every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four; the locust..the beetle..and the grasshopper" BATS ARE BIRDS Leviticus 11:13-19 "among the birds; the eagle, the owl, the bat"
SUN ORBITS EARTH: The Bible says "The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hurries to his place where it rose." Ecclesiastes 1:5 and then it says THAT means the sun went UP by ten degrees. "Isaiah.. cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz." 2 Kings 20:9 - 11 "I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees..." Isaiah 38:1-8
BEASTS CREATED BEFORE WOMAN God makes Adam (v7) and then god makes plants (v9) and then god takes Adam and plunks him down in the middle of this "garden." (v15) And God thought he looked a bit lonely so he made EVERY animal (v19) and brought them to Adam to see if he'd like one for a wife. (!) But Adam wasn't satisfied with a mercat (v20) so finally god made Eve (v22) and they all lived... Genesis chapter 2. As opposed to chapter 1. It's a direct contradiction. They cannot both be true.

Yes, the KJV may be the most accurate, but God also can reach people through other versions.
bradfordpestservices 17 hours ago

So the Greek and Hebrew texts must be translated to KJV English then back into Greek and Hebrew to be the word of God? Seems legitimate.

0123caj 9 months ago
I noticed something... in 1Thess.5:22 (mentioned at 0:40:58 ) The KJV says abstain from every "appearance" of evil and the NKJV says abstain from every "form". Well, according to the Strongs' Hebrew-Greek concordance, the greek word there is "idos" G1491 which means both: "form, appearance, fashion and sight." Plus, on an online dictionary the the word "form" is defined first as "external appearance" in modern English. Both translations are correct.

BEggerton 11 months ago
@BelieveandtrustJesus I grew up in the Independent Fundamental Baptist church. By the grace of God I have been freed of the legalism and traditionalism that comes with that church. These people grew up with the KJV, so obviously their intuition is going to tell them that anything that sounds different is changing God's word. Why the KJV though? Why not be "Geneva" only, as that was the historical Protestant Bible? The KJV was a product of the Church of England...i.e. Catholicism.
BEggerton 11 months ago
@BelieveandtrustJesus .... The translators of the KJV did not believe in eternal security, whereas the NKJV translators DID. 1 Corinthians 1:18 very obviously uses saved in the "present" tense. And even though Paul uses the present tense here, he is not implying that salvation is a process. He is simply saying that people are being saved. Yes he is speaking to saved people. More and more people were being added every day though. Do you not see this?
BEggerton 11 months ago
@BelieveandtrustJesus Sir, out of all due respect, you have been trapped into legalistic religion. Being a KJV Only-ist only proves your ignorance and double standards. Do you not realize that the Textus Receptus was written by a Catholic monk Erasmus? Do you not know that nearly all of the KJV translators were in the Church of England (i.e. Catholic without a Pope)? By this same standard the people who gave you your Bible are not saved. The translators of the KJV did not believe in....

Question for people who own a KJV (I do not):
At Mark 15:2, what does your book say for "And he answering said unto them".
Cause I've seen it both as "them" and "him" on websites.
I'm wondering if there was an older version of the KJV that some websites are using, or if some websites just misprinted.
The Greek is clear in any case (auto).
imperator332 11 months ago
I use the Greek New Testament 4th Revised Edt.....
I use this one particularly because the Novum Testamentum Graecum (aka, the NA) is updated periodically with scholarship and new/better manuscripts.
The TR, and thus KJV, is stagnant and out of date. As if nobody learned anything in 400 years.
imperator332 11 months ago
At 9:05 Mr Sanderson splits hairs over John 1:3. " All things were made BY him" the Greek word for "by" according to Strong's lexicon (G1223) is διά or dia. This ultimately means "through" (as translated in most English versions), but when talking "of means" can be translated "by" or "by the means of". Both essentially mean the same. Christ made all things. The KJV translators interpreted the Greek to say that Christ was doing the making and not just directing the work.

HiDefJesus 1 year ago
Just because it's saying "being saved" as opposed to already being saved is not going against eternal security. Paul is not speaking in a singular tense, it is plural - "us". Obviously more and more people were being saved everyday. This is what Paul meant in the original Greek, as the word IS in the present tense.

The King James is really a weak translation. If you study the greek and hebrew, and the original language textual basis of the KJV is quite errant, the textus rececptus. Peace.
Scttlaw 1 year ago
@Scttlaw =You say that it is "foolish" to believe that the KJV is "flawless", yet turn around and say that God is able to keep his Word intact! OK, if the KJV is not flawless, which Bible in English is? If you cannot tell me one that is, then we English speakers have a BIG problem! Since the KJV has been around nearly 400 years, but is "flawed", either God has preserved his words (plural) or he is a liar since he said Heaven and earth would pass away but his words (plural) would NOT pass away!

Good for you sanderson1611! While the King James translators rounded off the language to the nearest decimal the "received" Hebrew and Greek texts show every boundary of salvation and the devil's snares.
JesusChristRulesYOU 1 year ago
@JesusChristRulesYOU The NKJV teaches that homosexuality is a sin as well, so I don't see how one comment leads to the other here. I should think you would do God's will towards them and wish they would repent rather than punished also.

@JesusChristRulesYOU U cannot decide fait towards other men. They may be evil or do wrong things but it is not your decision. Romans12:19-21. Vengeance is Gods. Also look up matt6:15: 18:35.
Glorybound109 1 year ago
@Glorybound109 Revelation actually says your part of the tree of life will be taken away, not book. Erasmus (the inventor of the Textus Receptus, though not the originator of the name of it) got the word 'book' from the Latin since he never had a greek manuscript for that part of Revelation. The NIV doesn't take out the mentioning of blood entirely: only in the places where it's missing in Greek. The phrase "through his blood" is still there a few verses down. It was a copyist mistake.

Revelation 22:18-19 GEE looks like to me its says book of life. Enough said.

NO!!

It's saying that it's hard to be a Christian in a sinful world that hates and rejects God.

the Geneva Bible is better than the KJV...aka AV....ya....great. I use the ESV and NASB. They used ALL THE MANUSCRIPTS!!!

use the wycliffe bible or the geneva bible, the KJV is the official freemason version. king james was a freemason and hated the geneva version cause he said it was a threat to his empire so he made the tamperd KJV people use today. great sermon man. peace

this guy's funny with his 'amigo' jokes and stuff, but is funniest when you see how illogically he thinks. Applying Jesus' words out of context to a 17th-century English translation text. Well done.
bdtrigg 1 year ago

@thejumpsuitman - Yes, praise God for Pastor Steve Anderson! Thanks to him I read the NIV exclusively

This guy is well meaning, but I believe the issue is the RT, MT vs. the CT. The New Testament was given in Greek. The original writers were inspired, not the translators.

@Imaginefree69 the importance of the biblical unicorn is not so much its specific identity—much as we would like to know—but its reality. the bible is clearly describing a real animal. the unicorn mentioned in the bible was a powerful animal possessing one or two strong horns—not the fantasy animal that has been popularized in movies and books. cont'd

@Imaginefree69 whatever it was, it is now likely extinct like many other animals. to think of the biblical unicorn as a fantasy animal is to demean god’s word, which is true in every detail.

this is herecy... kjv is not inspired. if it were,
we would be called dippers, however because of fear (not of the lord but of king james) the translators decided not to use the english word dip for the greek word baptiso when pertained to the act of bein baptized after saved, they used it in other places. like when the man went and dipped his body into the water. the word baptize was made up from them from baptiso so they would not die... doesnt sound like they were inspired there to me
cjbrake 1 year ago
this is herecy... god wrote using people who were inspired by him, they wrote being inspired in greek and hebrew. there is no other bible that is perfect if the kjv is perfect please will u tell me why they did not translate the greek word baptiso Dip (a perfectly equalivant word) instead they made up a word (baptize) do u know why because good old king james would of killed em if they used dipped. no translation is perfect nor inspired only one bible is inspired and that is the greek n hebrew
cjbrake 1 year ago
@cjbrake - Fortunately, God has preserved the original autographs to 99.5% accuracy. This guys has no clue how translations are done. Even the original KJV translators spoke about the problems they couldn't solve. Yes, modern translations do translate for "meaning" rather than performing "transliteration". If you don't like that, get a literal translation. However, if you do, then you'll need to know the idioms and literary figures to give it "meaning". Modern bible's are simply skipping a step.

I believe the Authorized KJV to be the best English translation from the recieved texts.

Davertin 1 year ago
@Davertin For myself I choose not to take the Bible literally at all. "The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil?" I wonder what that looks like? How LITERALLY stupid can that be?
questioneverything2 1 year ago
@Davertin - The NIV more literal than the KJV? According to who? The Jesus Seminar? How in the world can a dynamic translation be more accurate than a literal translation?
evilunixuser1 1 year ago
@evilunixuser1
Davertin 1 year ago
One thing this sermon missed. It ASSUMED that the KJV was the authority to go on.
October31st1517 1 year ago
It's all about the manuscripts. KJV only people ought to learn to say Textus Receptus only. It's the manuscripts that are dangerous, and the translations only go off of them.
ParadoxicEnigma 1 year ago
Man, I'm sorry but every time I look of the hebrew and greek of these scriptures you're using Steven I find something else wrong with what you said. Gen 24:47, the hebrew says "enzm olaphe" which literally translates as "the pendent on the nose of her." Sorry for your luck man.
worshippastor12 1 year ago
It simply means people continue to be saved.
worshippastor12 1 year ago 13
one more thing and I'm done. Learn greek!
worshippastor12 1 year ago 3

God is not a liar.
amandawonderboy 1 year ago
@amandawonderboy -Doesn't mean he is the one behind it. Many people have assumed unbiblical things from the errors of the KJV, and besides, it removes his name almost 7000 times. If I had a book for my children and someone removed my name from the book...I'd sure be ticked-off, know what I'm saying? 'LORD' isn't a name. Beelzebub means 'Lord of flies' and is used for the devil. Jehovah or Yahweh at least preserves the tetragrammaton....and is a proper name.
Bimfirestarter 1 year ago
What christian here can tell me the name of Adam's first wife? All bibles have been changed, The Old Testament is an edited version of The Torah, and many words from The New Testament had several meanings when translated roughly, so yes things have been changed but at the end of the day Christs' message is still there. Love Jah, Love your neighbor, Be good and rejoice in Jah's love, and Obey Jah's commandments. if you want a true bible reading read a torah, and research the new testament

And that snakes and donkeys talk.
And that insects have 4 legs.

And that the sun revolves around the earth.
And that animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman.
And you are fretting about which VERSION to use?

FLAT EARTH IN THE BIBLE:
Isaiah 40:22 says the earth is a CIRCLE (Hebrew CHUWG).
Circles are flat, see any dictionary.
(DURE is Old Hebrew for "sphere", but Isaiah used CHUWG)
Daniel 4:10-11a tree that is as tall as the heavens
can be seen from everywhere on the earth
Matthew 4:8 has Jesus viewing the whole earth from a tall mountain
Revelation 1:7 says every eye will see Jesus coming in the clouds.
Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation all require a flat earth.
Well, either flat or bowl-shaped.

@ApplesAreLethal A FEW MORE CORRECTIONS REGARDING THE EARTH:
The earth does NOT hang on nothing (Job 26:7);
it is hurtling around the sun at 30 kilometres per second.
Nor is it sitting motionless (Psalms 93:1; 96:10, Chronicles 16:30, Isaiah 45:18),
upon pillars (1 Samuel 2:8)
nor upon foundations (Job 38:4, 6),
nor does it have four corners (Isaiah 11:12).
There you go, Apples.
As per request.
