I gotta say, I don't like it when people take the regular audio of a piece or song and overlap some techno beat on it. The problem is by adding that beat you've changed the tempo.

If you're going to do a remix, do it properly. It almost (I said ALMOST) doesn't matter what instruments you use. You can change the some of the notes and tones but you have to keep the proper ratios to keep the tempo. Throwing in a rhythmless, repetitive, base beat doesn't work because it doesn't fit.
