  • this video is orgasmic

  • its miami because atlanta has those red and black color on the terminal

  • As a former TWA Flight Attendant, I worked the L-10'a LOT..Love the sound of those engines!!! :)

  • most annoying flight attendant ever. Reading gate assignments just b/f touchdown. What a moron

  • @grassroot3 We flight attendants are not supposed to do that... we're supposed to read them when we land after our main landing announcement...I couldn't understand why she kept yammering on landing.. we're supposed to be in our jumpseats listening for any kind of emergency to pop up... we're supposed to be ready to jump in case..

  • Great footage. Were you on a -500 variant by any chance? I was trying to make out the ship number on the nose gear door.

  • the flight attendant CLEARLY stated "Welcome to ATLANTA"

  • Looking at the terminal buildings, I think this flight was from Atlanta to Miami, not the other way around...but a great video anyway. Miss this big plane a lot.

  • @chokedad2006 These kind of comments just blow me away. The flight was from Miami to Atlanta. I should know, I was on the flight.

  • @SDMullis Yes, that is definitely Miami.

  • @SDMullis Yeah, that's clearly not Hartsfield Airport you're leaving.

  • @chokedad2006 Did you not hear the flight attendant say WELCOME TO ATLANTA!

  • @chokedad2006 It is undoubtedly Miami-Atlanta

  • @chokedad2006 The FA even says welcome to Atlanta...

  • I missed all of the good jets in the first 10 years of my life! Oh this pissed me off!

  • L-1011 is pure sex! That sound is amazing! Used to fly Worldways L-1011s all the time!

  • @sdrawkcab96 my first ever flight was aboard Worldways from YYZ to YYG Charlottetown. Sadly though, it wasn't on board the TriStar :(

  • I use to be a C5 Flight Engineer and those L1011s sound exactly the same.

  • Great Post! Thank you! The L1011 was my favorite plane....

  • Good post, L1011 rules.

  • Miss those L-1011s, but gotta love that dirty girl at the end of the video taxing.

  • I was on an Eastern and a TWA L-1011. My favorite wide-body. The biggest Delta jet I was on was a DC-8-61 which was my favorite jet. You should have seen the even older Delta livery that was on their DC-6's and DC-7's. That was when the liveries were really unique. There's an old livery I wish was on Youtube..the old Ethiopian Airlines livery...that's one to see.

  • I miss the old livery!

  • Those were the good old days

  • soooo old!

  • how long was the flight? just over an hour?

  • @tonightwefly It takes like 2 hours

  • @acunaramirez no... In a Lockheed, it does take just over an hour. tonightwefly was correct.

  • Cool video, i like the old delta colors. And the classic airliners.

  • why is it always the other airlines/contries buyin big planes n usa n canada fly small planes

  • @hawkboy000 Good question. Quick answer: Canadians and US prefer more frequent flights in smaller planes to their direct destination than fewer flights in bigger planes that travel through a hub like Atlanta, Denver, or Chicago. Airlines like smaller planes because they are easier to fill with higher paying pax. Foreign airlines still have few flights to main international destinations and very little in the way of a domestic schedule because most countries are smaller than US or Canada.

  • @LoSamZayin Thank uuuu..it seems to me that airlines like United Emirates and KLM go for the biggest

  • @hawkboy000 KLM is a small airline -.-

  • @kenan49 true but look at how many 747's and 777's they have

  • @hawkboy000 just some 777 the 747 is getting lost like the md11 they going to reitre both types md 11 until 2015 747 until 2018

  • @kenan49 true...maybe they will buy some A350-1000's :)

  • what a beautyfull video , i can t stop watching it

  • The good old work horse!

  • Superb!

  • This was my aircraft from LAX to DFW back in the 80s & early 90s, Delta had a way of making you feel at home never lost our luggage good service, made you enjoy flying even if you were a scared to fly.

  • I have rode many aircraft. To this day this bird is still my all time favorite. It was a very quiet smooth ride. I rode many of them back and forth with Delta across the atlantic to and from Frankfurt. Spoiled me so much that I didn't want to ride in any other aircraft.

  • @criticalpass i have flown on my Delta L-1011's. I agree with you. I love this aircraft. I didn't like it when it came to retiring them. Many were parked in Arizona and some sold overseas. My nephew is a captain and I have a niece that is a flight instructor. You should have been on one of the last flights ( the one where it was flown to be parked and the Delta coding was removed from the aircraft) It was both happy and sad. We love to fly and it shows...

  • Their not using the 777 to like jax for the actual flight, after it goes to jax, the 777 probably goes to Africa or the middle east..

  • Historycal recording...

  • Watch this plane get dismantled on youtube : Search Lockheed L1011 CS-TMX dismantling

  • That is an ex- Air Canada L-1011-500

  • boy, do I miss those old girls. Could someone please help me with a question? I used to fly Delta 38 and 39 ATL-AMS-STR back in the early to mid 1990s on a L-1011 and I can't remember which variant Delta used for that flight. Was it the L-1011-1 or the L1011-250 or L-1011-500. I know the 500 was smaller so I don't think it was that one, so that leaves the 250 or the 1. Which one was it? Also in econ it was 2-6-2

  • Great video loved it thanks for posting.

  • Another good, this one sounds and looks inside as if it were a -250 or 500.

  • also, why does delta use such big planes on its atlanta - florida flights?? this on guy on this blog said he once flew the 777 from JAX to ATL!

  • High density flights, they use planes likes the 764 to fly into ATL.

  • repositioning?

  • I work for DL and the reason is High pax loads. Right now whe have an hourly flt to mco and back to atl all of them 757-200. Believe me, they leave full.

  • thank you! wat are pax?

  • passengers ;)

  • ITSWIN55 - I've flown on the 777 from MCO-ATL with less than 30 pax, fun flight. With the economy now, we're pretty much 757's now in MCO, but used to see lots of 767s daily. L1011 was a great plane for it's time.

  • very very nice :) i am young, so i neevr got to fly the L-1011, but it looks like a nice plane for its time,

  • @ITSWIN55 I agree with you... I never got to fly those famous L-1011... I wish I get to chance to ride those famous plane...
