  • OMG greatest thing ever. So emotional BRAVO~!

  • OMG! It's so scary, but it's an Art!

  • great!!!!!

  • he tripped him self out at 1:40

  • Freedom is impossiible without God. The Traditional Masters explain us with parabolas... This Master explain us with images

  • There is a positive message - what is left is witnessing- consiouness is there and consiouness needs no strings

  • So appropriate with what's going on in the world today especially with poor Libya -- they broke the connection to western capital by deciding to go with gold as the standard for payment of their oil -- their leader then was assassinated fighting to disconnect from this monster of US and NATO imperialism --

  • @magicforesttree Don't distort the message. Obviously they were/are being used by Western powers, but their leader was awful. The fact that people almost always see one side as wrong and the other side as true freedom in issues like this really reflects on how easily we fall for hivemind and control. Even when breaking apart from one group we flock to another.

Also, does anybody know what this song is?

  • Преоткрих света

    и водещите нишки...

    Влюбен Пиеро.

    Обичам те, Нефея!

  • This reminds me on what is happening in the world. Espacialy Iraq and libya. Beeing free is not always for the better. People misunderstand democracy. It is based on rules. Rules you must obey. And rules not every one agrees with. The only thing people should fight for is respect, onor and dignity. Respect mankind and al living beeings. Human rights and have more tolerance.

  • This is just amazing! Never get tired of watching it :) Superb!

  • There are no words.

  • Pretty cool...and creepy. I dig it.

  • This video haunts me.

  • THIS IS THE sinbol of lufe the puppet came to life and saw hiself attached to a hard life but in the end he ended his life great masterpiece

  • Is that an American? :)

  • @Legalize918 No Americans on this as far as I know.

  • @MavisRileyJunior The puppet is

  • @Legalize918 Yeah, I remember him being credited as "Legalize918" or something silly like that.

  • Very good.

  • not a very good puppeteer his movement doesnt look very life like.

  • eerie yet intriguing

  • hi! what's the music plays in this video?

  • Simplemente Precioso

  • No matter recalcitrate or not, once you've found your own puppet string, your happiness will never come back. Sad.

  • this is a bit creepy.... :S sucidal puppet lol x

  • Exactly , its freeeeeeedoooooom .....

Live freee , or die hard .... :'(

    Amazing ...

  • Hauntingly beautiful

  • it's a shame puppetry isn't appreciated as much as an art form as ballet.

  • beautiful explanation of the illuminati

  • loved this. and the music was great.

  • Very relevant to my new production company. This is exactly what we stand for. To a degree. Beautiful puppetry work!!

  • @nostringsproductions i am personally a breast man

  • not one word was spoken during the whole thing and i still felt the emotion and sadness. amazing work.

  • Omg i fucking HATE the backgound music!!!!AAAAA!

  • Such is our life! The life of us all!

  • It's a dilema, live attached to the strings or die free

  • Very Good Show !

  • Such a beautiful moment

  • Such a beautiful moment

  • beautiful.. so emotional..

  • brilliant! this art form is defiitely not as appretiated as it should be. watching this almost makes me understand how people can find puppets frightening. simply watching this you fully believe that puppet had a soul. then once you see it as an inanimate object again you can't shake the feeling that it's aware.

  • Great show ! Wonderful Pierrot .. like a dream

  • holalala comme c est beau ************* !!!

  • it scary

  • sad but so beautiful...great performance...

  • SHLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SHLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LIKE IF YOU UR STRAIGHT

  • Excellent puppeteering, I would say. The marionette is at first excited and enthralled at first arising, but realizes his capabilities are limited to strings. So he persists to remove them, perhaps in a suicidal way, and collapses in the end. This really is a great art form.

  • creepy

  • Awesome stuff. Very felt. The only thing is that it feels a little IK (Animation joke).

    Thumbs up!! *****

  • Great Video. But, what's ya problem with other languages?

  • Argh, my mind is doing circles within circles! This could almost be a nonfiction piece! A paradox even.

  • Really neat. Cool idea of the puppet breaking the 4th wall. It says something about bondage, like, the puppet rather be limp but free rather than continue to live a life where someone else is in control.

  • @theresalinger Thats so deep and true

  • @theresalinger But aren't we all in bondage by someone in our lives? A boss, a spouse, a child, a relative, a politician, or someone else? It is why the marionette falls limp, because he has freed himself from his bondage. Without being strung up by someone, his life falls apart, and his precious little freedom amounts to nothing.

  • @MachRiderZero This needs to be voted up more. His death was in vain. No one can live entirely free, it's just a matter of how they feel about who/what is controlling them. As we all know, given the right circumstances bondage can be quite good.

  • intresting

  • "its a puppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet"

  • wow......

  • Amazing performance! So moving and sad.

  • Incredible!

He can breathe so much life into an inanimate object. He makes puppetry look so easy...his skill is incredible. I actually felt really bad for the poor little puppet, after it realizes that it is just a puppet, then *ends* itself.

I didn't think it possible to feel sorry for an inanimate object...he did it for me.

    This is artistic genius.

  • nice video

  • Magnificent performance! I was so impressed by Mr. Genty's art - he is bring into Pierrot so much life and feeling, and even that is sad, it so beautiful. Manipulating a puppet like this is really hard and Mr.Genty makes it look so easy. Thank you for that amazing art experience.

  • I saw a Philippe Genty show in 1983 in Normandy. It was amazing !

    Forgive my English...

  • that was beautiful

but you could just see the fishing line-like thread controlling the left hand, it'd b more amazing if u couldn't c it at all and it just moved by itself, which would of course be impossible

  • no talk....

    only movements...

    and a beautiful sound...

our heart feel sad for the puppet....

    T_T

    iloveit!!!

  • It's me !

  • that was sad.

but i was waitin for da puppet 2 just jump up.

  • i felt the pain and sadness of knowing later that you can nver have ur life directed by yourself cos even from the very start he never owned his life

  • i was sad i cant understand it but it makes me sad (T_T)

  • i feel sad!

  • even the death for freedom was given by the puppeteer, thats the point

    music is touching

  • even the way of get the freedom was given by the puppeteteer, thats the point

  • 非常好!!i want to cry

  • I want to cry

  • Magnificent

    touched me a lot

  • so touched``too many puppeteers in the real life`we r just not brave enough to cast off the strings

  • everytime i saw it,i couldn't help crying out !!!

    it's struck my heart !!!

  • Just feel like a sick at the stomach

  • really deep! its that mean fredom = death?!

  • i think that means he prefers to die rather than a puppet who is controlled by other.

  • very deep...

  • just want cry

  • very cool, l like

  • unbelievable!

  • so touched..

I was thinking about all the things that were going on in my life, and I cried

  • powerful.what a mind

  • I think this is about a very old question of lives :fredom or life which do you love better?

  • how about what patrick Henry said"give me liberity or give me death"

  • very sad ..

even though this is their fate ..

wat if sum1 can gave them a real life ?

    hmm ..

  • ...really touching! so sad.

  • I had almost cried when I first watched this..

    It's just the fate...

  • admirable, i would rather choose the strings.

  • very touching, amazing,moving........

  • cool~fight for freedom!he is the hero~

  • the cost of the freedom

  • freedom! 宁为玉碎。。。

  • that was amazing~~

  • amzing!~

it even makes me cry T_T

  • I want nothing, please don't give me anything, please don't offer me help.

If I cannot be myself, if I cannot have freedom, I'd rather choose death...

  • freedom!

  • amazing! it struck my heart!

  • I love and i create. Because I am a human, I am a man. Deeply in their mind, everyone knows this. superb performance though, real art!

  • Jesus!~that's really amazing~ maybe the moment he casts off his own strings he becomes a "real" one~Lord knows~

  • life,I want to be the god of myself~

  • AMAZING the acting that went into this. nothing but AMAZING

  • I'm sorry I don't get it, is that the reason I turn the sound off?

  • It's really better watching with the sound. The music is quite atmospheric. :)

  • everytime i saw it,i couldn't help crying out !!

    it's struck my heart !

  • fantastic

  • omg, im cry out! sad.....

  • indeed

  • sad even as it begins

  • sad!

  • Struggling is destroying. Life can be just a lie which freedom decorates.

  • brave heart!

  • God!thats amazing···feel so sad

  • amazing!...

  • I think it may tell us that freedom comes more important than life.

  • I think you are right.

  • he got his own life!

  • what a naive thing!

  • man....this is so sad

  • What a stirring performance!

  • what a good play

  • a great Chinese literary giant has said:

tragedy shows you how to destroy a valuable thing, comedy shows you how to tear useless thing apart...

  • freedom is NOT FREE

  • whats the music

  • like it. a man could not change the destiny, but the way he goes.

  • 鲁迅先生说:悲剧将人生的有价值的东西毁灭给人看,喜剧将那无价值的撕破给人看

  • 嗨~震住了

  • Magnificent.

  • Where can you see this puppeteer in person?

  • this is the best puppet show i've ever seen.

just to clear it up (because there seems to be some confusion)

philippe genty is the puppeteer. paul daniels is a magician and philippe was a guest on paul's show

  • that is the saddest thing

  • thats kinda sad :(

  • amazing...5 stars

  • WOW... !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant! Now this is art!

  • Good stuff. Sadly, we rarely see things as quirky, beautiful and mesmeric as this on TV anymore as people prefer to sit on their arses and watch Simon Cowell's puppets. Or - worse! - Big Brother.

  • da poor puppet!! he couldnt accept it! so sad... must...cuddle....puppet.... hehehee beautiful

  • A puppet is nothing & doesn't have autonomy to cut its own strings. It hasn't self-awareness, only the illusion of self-awareness. It all comes from the puppeteer. True brilliance would have the focus turn to Daniels himself, & his self-realization as the puppeteer hiding the fear of his own identity within the puppet. Without the safety of a projected identity he'd be forced to confront his own self-hatred, release it, & himself collapse, his self-hatred being the string of his existence.

  • Er....okay.You do know Daniels isnt the puppeteer?!
