in all honesty, i don't think the psp can even emulate a cps3 seeing as how it's struggling with an n64. what i'm saying is that when ur emulating, ur not running a game, ur running that whole system inside of a psp (in this case). even if final burn doesn't need to run based from the psp kernel, i don't think the system could handle running a full blown cps3 inside of itself. they could tweak it to make it smoother but it'll be a waste of time to get it to full speed.....just sayin....

@ExtremeBogom Not even for CPS3 games? It's funny. DS is supposed to be the equivalent of the N64, but doesn't have enough power to play SNES games. I just figured at least some CPS2 games took less power than SNES ones. But hey. Nothing's perfect. I have yet to port DS games to N64 and vice versa. Hey You Pikachu would have been perfect for a DS remake. And Bomberman 2 DS would work nicely on the N64.

I'm suprised it can't emulate snes to be honest. Maybe it's hard to make emulators for the DS?

I know there is a snes emulator for GBA! It's not perfect though, and I've never tried it.

Btw my friend your misunderstood here; CPS2 is far more powerful than a snes. Even CPS1 is almost 3x faster than snes.

Even xbox1 only "just" emulates CPS3, and that's at 733mhz 64mbRAM

@ExtremeBogom I guess it's just the graphic capabilities that are similar as well as when they were released. But of course, arcade systems are easily and quickly replaced and much more powerful than their console counterparts. Like the Dreamcast and NAOMI.

The speed will always be this slow on a psp. CPS3 games require more processing and graphics power than CPS2 and CPS1 games. GP2x Wiz and OPEN Pandora could probably do this. The psp cpu runs at 233,but can be overclocked to 333mhz. The wiz and pandora go 533mhz and 600mhz respectively. ALthough the pandora has alot more poweful as an entire system.

WHo knows maybe the new ipod touch will do it. since it has 1ghz processor. The old ipod touch could play laggy playstation games with just 500mhz

rumors are a psp2 is in the works with technology surpassing original xbox tech. that means MvC2 and SF3 working on psp, if its hackable that is of course or if they make psp versions. Id rather have it hackable and allow us to put the games on ourselves, just for the thrill of hacking. Im not getting my hopes up until Sony's ready to confirm it.

cool with sound! im not so hopeful for future updates tho. i believe this is the final limit of the original psp series and hopefully sony is at work at a revolutionary psp2 and hopefully they dont use the ingenious technology that makes the ps3 virtually unhackable in it. Its definitely ingenious, but very annoying. imagine the endless possibilities of CFW on ps3. probably 360/Wii emulators. They are more harsh on ps3 hacking and would probably lock your system if online.

@slikdarelic As I'm sure others have pointed out, it's on the NAOMI. The NAOMI is extremely taxing on even the latest computers and there is no way in hell it would run full speed (or at all) on any device. Ever. Maybe the Cray CX1-iWS. Maybe. But only because MAME runs so slow with NAOMI games.

Just got a PSP yesterday, friend worked it over, and I just today got FinalBurn with SF3:3S.

The lag is to be expected but hopefully in the future this will be fixed as well and then gumdrops will rain from the sky.

there are many points my friend.yes there is a street fighter game on psp but not street fighter 3!!! this game was only released in arcades and on the dreamcast.plus because its being played thru an emulator the rom size is very small so you can put it on the memory stick and leave it there forever!

forgot to mention that this is using the final burn alpha emulator available from the usual places.cps3 emulation is very slow at this early stage of the emulator but hopefully it could become full speed in future releases.good work to all involved and please keep it up!!!
