You seem to have a lot of disdain for your former FAT self. Unfortunately I think this attitude may perpetuate prejudices for the obese .Perhaps you might want to think a little about that...Also, it seems like it takes alot for you to hold back how proud you are of yourself. I think you can handle my harsh assessment. Good job on your weight loss.
I am more critical of myself or hold myself to a higher standard than I ever would others. My obesity was a personal failure of mine and a direct result of bad choices, actions, and beliefs that it wasn't hurting me AND my family. I got where I was because I just tried to accept the reality of me being fat.
If anything, that is my goal here on YT. Give hope or an example to those who want it. Those who don't or aren't ready it is not up to me to critique or judge them.
If this is the cross I have to bear to keep spreading good news, it is pretty easy load to bear, AND make no mistake I enjoy talking to the critics at times. They help inspire me to be just that much dedicated to do the right thing or that people are still trying to hold me accountable for something.
Plus I always know my friends will tell the truth about me.
As for pride, I am the first one to say I am not perfect, and I still have lots of room to work. The work of sanctification is not done in my by any stretch.
ckartom2 - Perhaps, your concern/assessment has more to do with your not being comfortable with others bettering themselves and becoming more healthy? One can project negativity onto others for one's own shortcomings and failures.
Kent has dedicated many many hrs to sharing this pathway to better health that he himself had trudged down. A very "selfless" thing on his part. That doesn't sound like someone going down the vain and disdain route.
hahahahaha, sorry, I'm used to my mexican culinary habits, I forget not everyone likes bunnies as food or worms as alcohol swimmers. take care dude!!! and keep on rocking!!!!!
That is true about lap band. I was more thinking about RnY surgery, but even lap band can have complications. There is no free ride, and whatever way you chose, you have work in front of you.
I know if I had to be up for something daily, it would likely resemble my marathon training lately... A little spotty and not always 100%... Eating however is so much easier and much more inertia or just routine any more.
BRAVO!!!!! 5 Stars. I relate to you in a lot of what you said, particularly two points:
"The walk of shame", I know all to well, mine from airplane experience
And "diet/exercise being a way of life, not a 6 month fad". For long term successful weight loss, this is key.
I started my WLJ back in Jan.2007, and today, I'm still going strong.
But bravo to you. I'll have to sit down and watch some of your VIDS sometime, this WLC on here is freaking HUGE!!!

Hey Dude, Do you have a "kick me hard" sign on your back? haha! You seem to take your share of unwarranted ridicule.

Also, I am really at a loss as to why you would even go there. It is very obvious that you have not watched many of Kent's vids at all.
If there is any "holding back" of being proud of himself coming from Kent it is due to "humility" and not conceit as you imply.

Kent, Have you gotten into some "Kent Nip?" This is the most animated I have seen you in a long while. : P
Good video!

Blame it on actually having a day off from work and not being as stressed... Today on the other hand I think I could use some Kent nip. :-)

Repeat after me, "PET bunnies are friend not food..." Not saying I wouldn't like to eat some of their less personable cousins though.

Lap Band surgery may be better because it can be undone.
I'm like you though, trying to do it low carb. Started at 406 last Sep...at 280
now. I'd like to lose another 80.

Congrats that is fantastic progress in one year!

Great answer for #7. I wrote a blog post about self-discipline vs. motivation. You hit the nail on the head.
-Self-discipline is when you do something without thinking and emotion. You just do it. It becomes routine.
-Motivation requires you to want to do something. It is emotional. Once that motivation is lost you fall back into ur regular bad habits.
