My dog uses his paws for everything as well, and he's not a boxer. When we put our dog through profession training we were taught about dogs and their body language, and how they establish dominance. It may or may not apply in this video. It's not a big deal, and it's a cute video regardless.

Very sweet :) ...although I doubt it was affection. Usually paw language like that is an expression of dominance. Probably the boxer noticed the baby, assessed the threat level, then (gently) put the baby in its place, and then lost interest due to lack of a threat from the baby. Still, the baby's smile was so cute! It made me smile too.

expression of dominance? boxer didn't have to assess who was who ... they've met. boxer already knew threat level. think "connect" with that gesture. pawing the air is also a "want" gesture as in "want closer" with all my dogs (almost all boxers). Not being argumentative ... shared life with a lot of boxers ... boxers and babies are special. sooooo agree with baby smiling kicking off a reciprocal in my own face.
