  • We make this 2 or 3 times a month now..it's become a favorite in our house we add more garlic now and red onion gives it a yummy flavor but the first time we did it exact and it was great!!! Thank you!

  • I added cubed ham to this recipie in lieu of bacon and it was scrumptious.

  • I wrote 1 quart broth on my shopping list, got to the store & broth is sold in ounces. Not a huge deal, I figured it out, 1 quart = 4 cups or 32 ounces. Just a hint, please include that info in the future. The soup turned out good, not great. Maybe a little less onion, a little more potato. Not sure, gonna try again & see how it comes out.

  • Just had this for dinner...it's all gone! Going to have to make this again next week!

  • ...try adding some crispy fried bacon pieces to it. About 6-8 slices bacon, fried, drained well and crumbled into bits. Looks great as is, but adding bacon is NEVER a bad thing.

  • Your hats are hiding your beautiful faces.

  • On U Tube or Twitter one I found a list of crockpot receipes by category like chicken, beef,,turkey, seafood, breakfast, desserts, etc just about anything you would want . I went right to out twice now I can't find it anywherr.they were in a vertical list on the left side of my android phone the My Touch 4g anyone one know what I'm talking about

  • Yes! I really like finding new recipes for my crock pot. One of the best inventions for the kitchen EVAH! Great channel, but I also chime in with badjer1785's suggestion about cuts/edits and dropping in a bit of music.

  • yaay crack pot girls.

  • BUT I LOVE THE CHANNEL! KEEP IT UP WOOO!

  • nice channel, trying quicker cutting and editing, and how about some soft classy background music to mask the awkward silence.

  • Tried this recipe and it was a success!! Total hit, excited about trying more recipes from the crockpot girls

  • They Shoud Get Lil B To Coock

  • I just love me some good homeade recipe, don't you JDolani? I made a video about these here girls. Check it out!

  • Sounds great y'all!

  • Good work ladies -- but why is this trending? Potato soup.

  • Would love to see a video on the cornbread in the slow cooker too!

  • I haven't tried this crock pot recipe yet, but when I am making traditional potato soup and it comes out too thin/runny...I add Ore-Ida instant potato flakes as a quicky thickener! If you happen to have one or more of their flavored varieties on hand it can add a little flavor punch to the soup as well.

  • The girl on the right is cute!

  • I made this last week and did not have success with it. Way to runny, I only mashed about 1/2 as we like it with some chunks. My husband said not to fix it again. Flavor was flat as well. Glad there are so many who do like it though. I've had good success with other recipes, especially the chicken ones.

  • My hubby doesn't care for onions or garlic (yeah, I know... but I love him anyway). Would I need to make any adjustments if I leave these out?

  • @infoseek, it's one or the other on the time. Have fun!

  • i love you gals, my nieghbor was just diagnosed with Cancer and i am making this for her tonite, i am in Canada and its cold today soo this willl be perfect...

  • Thank you, mamaroomom! ; )

  • You ladies are providing such a great service and it is so needed based on your viral following!

I saw this posted this morning on your Facebook and ran to throw it in the crock pot!

I followed your recipe but added celery & carrots, and I also added an extra cup of water with 1 tsp of ham bullion for added flavor! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Oh also, when I make potato soup, if it isn't as thick as I like, I add instant mashed potato flakes. It's the perfect way to thicken it up!

  • Crazy question, but do you cook it for 4 hours on high and then another 8 hours on low OR is it 4 hours on high OR 8 hours on low? Just don't want a pot of mush when I'm done! lol Thank you! :-D

  • Would be better if you threw in some pre-cooked bacon (1/2 cup) at the beginning of the recipe so that the flavor would permeate the soup. Love the recipe, keep u the good work!

  • I made this last night for dinner.. it was awesome! YUMMMMM

  • In response to curlytop1977- yes cream cheese in potato soup is fabulous- i use it all the time- try it- you will love it- have shared my recipe with many friends and they all agree

  • I love potato soup, but i don't like the mashed potato's in it. I like it soupier and with chunks of potato's.

  • @MBShrewsbury I feel the same way about not liking mashed potato soup, I wonder if only part of them were mashed and left some chunky how that would work?

  • @smylinjenn40 I don't mash mine at all. I just make a roux and use all milk to make mine. Not alot of people do it that way. :)

  • I was thinking of subbing the cream for cream cheese, as I don't have any on hand. Anyone try this?

  • SO GLAD TO FIND A RECIPE FOR BAKED POTATOE SOUP THAT IS GLUTEN-FREE!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!! HAPPY CROCKIN'!

  • Would be good for your foreign readers/watchers if you'd be more specific with your potato measurement - we don't have ginormous Idaho baking potatoes in Europe!! :-)
