Some good ideas, i regularly use the example where you said play over 2 bars so the 2 only sound complete where you put them together. Playing a straight 4 beat rock for 16 bars is just to tedious.

Another fantastic drum clip and lesson. though i can't help feeling that your having to over extend to reach your toms. Ive always had the opinion that you shouldnt have to extend your arm past 90 degrees other wise its wasted energy. Your style is great, my personal preference really. Keep up the good work

Hey John what is your most recommened drum set that is inexpensive?

hmm.. most of the name brand kits are very similar at the lower price points, but the pearl forum is pretty good considering that it uses the same shells that you get in all the export series. but in the bigger picture, i'm not an expert. I play pearl, but I've often liked the yamahas, just not had the opportunity to buy one. so i'm not much help. sorry.
