  • everyones a commentator nowadays huh...

  • Get a tissue fella.. People dont wanna hear you sniffing and shit on yourtube.. is this webcam one on a netbook? it's pretty crappy.

  • The problem with the manufacturer customizing the Linux OS is upgrades. I read on slashdot just yesterday that updating the Aspire One's Linpus or, I think specifically the Firefox update, caused a problem. The question is, will the manufacturer keep updating their customized version of the software? Doubtful. Extra cost. I would rather they provided the Linux drivers and a standard install of Ubuntnu for Netbooks or GOs, or other compatible distro.

  • When I talk about customization, what I really mean is OEMs can roll the Linux kernel with the drivers and driver modules for that specific hardware. As far as OS updates, those would only be necessary for critical bug fixes or security patches. Because even an OEM custumized linux distro would still be open source, the open source community would help get critical updates out.

  • You people dont know what are you talking about! ALL windows 7 versions will run fine on netbooks! People dont want linsux even if its free! LOL!

  • If Linux was to take over 90 percent of market share overnight, MS would still be ahead of Apple as an OS producer. I don't see Apple making Tiger free so it can be used on PCs in order for them to compete with "Free". Microsoft may not be the perfect company but their OS is out there doing the work. Will XP eventually phase out completely? Not as fast as Tiger. Tiger phased out so fast because people wanted Leopard. I am sure once MS comes out with 7, XP may go way of the Tiger dodo bird.

  • Ah, but Leopard was and is better than Tiger. While Vista is no where close to as good as XP. You don't see many Mac users still using Tiger, but many Windows users still prefer XP. Will things change with Windows 7? I think so, why? because I think it will be a real upgrade.

  • ahhh haaaa So u do think windows 7 will be good

  • "good" is a relative term. I think it will be a huge improvement over Vista, while at the same time offering some useful features over XP. I have been using Windows seven since build 6801 and unless Microsoft screws it up at the last minute it will be a pretty decent OS. That being said I don't think it will come close to being as good as OS X.

  • Asus EEE PC started out coming out with Linux Xandros but yielded to windows XP as they realized that the public demanded a more familiar computer experience. So now, you have XP on EEE PC more than Linux. Regardless if they get XP for free or not, Microsoft's willingness to do stay mainstream shows that they are investing in a greater market share for future OS.

  • Microsoft's OS is not perfect and it is definitely not the best OS, but Microsoft is the largest company that can be held directly responsible for its product. Linux has no dedicated software company that takes responsibility for its Free OS. Apple refuses take on the challenge of taking on the work force world wide as it insist on being a "small" OEM company with its own unique and exclusive OS which they refuse to share with other OEM manufacturer. So the choice is clear Stay with big guy.

  • The choice is clear,go with the best OS, OS X.

  • Good vid. I also think its a poor market strategy on Microsoft's part, but what else is new?
