Twenty three years GM world class tech and I have a broken for it back now. Still working but in pain. When there is no work your the bad guy. The more you know the more you get screwed.
man this video just made me smile, and sad to say us tech's never get the respect or the pay for all the troubles that come with it. no job ,no money, harder the job, sure it pays the time, but might take longer then it says. we still loose. if your the new guy you never get the good jobs. so true too, someone is always using your tools, which also cost more then you make. in the end, it doesn't add up. this is rough work. I've done it for 15 years now. in all the time, its been rough living
@hjsantiago1981 yah im in the diesel trucks end of the spectrum. highway trucks and that, but i can say its similar even in the diesel trade, in dealerships anyway. most ive worked at or heard of so far have been similar to auto in terms of time, time time. they all want things done yesterday. the pay is steady though whereas the auto can be up and down. working in a truck fleet however is alot more laid back.
EricTheCarGuy sent his viewers here. I thought the end was the best part: A good Tech realized that his toolbox has wheels on it for a reason, he took it out of the shop, and went on to find a better job. AWESOME! Too bad about the song choice though....
Awesome! It may be hard for those not in the field to relate to this. I've been at it myself for a long time and laughed through every second of this video. I like how you shot the 6.0 and 6.4 one after the other. Golden!
I can tell that those guys you work with are first class, even the goof who was trying to cheer you up. Too bad the boss never gets to have fun like that, ha ha. Lots of life lessons there.
Love it!! ETCG sent me here. I laughed, I cried, I felt your pain. I have been there done that, and got the t-shirt. I work for myself now!! I make more, work less, and a lot less stress!!!
i started at ford ive worked on cars for 8 years the time is your biggest enemy people and bosses think everything should take 5 10 min fuck you assholes i busted my ass to put money in my bosses pocket not mine i couldnt take the stress nomore sold my toolbox and all my tools lost out big time but i had to do it going in a different field of work fuck working on cars for a living it sucks do it on the side and make money best way
i feel so at ease watching this that i wanted to cry.....as a professional tech i understad this vid to the fullest.....thank u for posting...this is aboslute genius!!
Hahaha, I tried to make it all as true to life as possible. Life as a tech can be rough. It can also be good but sometimes it eats at you. Hopefully other techs find this video entertaining.

The lost key part, sad but true. No service advisor/salesperson can EVER put keys back where they should be!

Bravo. You forgot to illustrate the gravy sucking shop golden boy. With cars lined up in both his stalls while you have nothing.

This is why I work for myself now. It cost me $100,000 in tools, but no ESO's, no pressure.
