I found that frustrating because it felt very similar to the previous VF4:E, on the PS2. It felt more like an upgrade, instead of a new title to the series. Since this R version added 2 more characters and new moves, this one might feel more like a different game, compared to the one that came out on the PS2 5 years ago...
By the way you were right about the PS3 version having a lower version than the Xbox 360, not just online but also items and DLC as well.
But when VF5FS comes out they will be both the same version so that's going to be good, but I hope they also allow they recycle unlockable old-variations of the stages just like they put in VF4 Evolution: when unlocked you can play the old stages.

It's not known yet. I'm looking forward to a home system version of this game, because the VF5 game (PS3) was very frustrating...

In vf5fs they must put vf5 and r versions.
