@pizcobabe It's Coraline algae. It's typically purple, green, red. It's a calcifying algae that is considered beneficial to a reef tank, although sometimes a bit of a nuisance when cleaning off glass, pumps etc..

It's where it is because the rock blocks him from scraping and cleaning that part of the glass.

The tangs wouldn't eat them. They are herbivores. I am amazed becuase garden eels are super passive and I would think a tank that size would bother it.

It is surprising how they keep butterflies with corals.
