Just so everyone knows... ROV stands for Remote Operator Vehicle... Like an underwater UAV... He isn't there, the robot is there... he doesn't have to run anywhere.
I love the camerawork of the operator during this. He starts out just focusing on that hatch probably thinking, "Just another boring day, monitoring."
And then the whale appears and he pans back thinking, "The FUCK is that?"
And when it's gone, he moves it back into place thinking, "Damn. I'm never gonna get something like that ever again. Welp, back to work!"
thats amazing footage, but if its a whale that scientists know of its probably a sperm whale which can dive 18 000 feet ( i cant really remember though)
Fuckin sweet!

After this experience the camera operator could play Amnesia in the dark alone without even flinching once.

@Darkkiller2ooo I doubt it, most whales are docile, they're filter feeders, you must not know much about them.

@SgtMustang Sperm whales are very much carnivirous, you must not know much about them :)

@stegorm I said most whales are pretty docile, some, like the Sperm Whale, do eat animals.
