Wow, that's a relief - the whole city isn't on fire. Now I can go back to my cartoons.
I thought Bryant Gumbel, with his "how do you know it was deliberate?" was pathetic, but Steady Dan takes the cake. There may have been several injuries, he notes.

Yes, it took Dan at least 5-10 minutes to realize the tower had collapsed, even as his control room was showing replays of it happening and you could hear the horrified gasps of his producing staff in the background. The other networks realized it almost immediately.

Original broadcast had Dan Rather talking on and on while the South Tower collapsed on the video to his left.
