bloody hell, i have a similar problem, except its one of those massive ones and we have a plywood fence separating us.
they always turn the freaking thing on, and its on right now as i speak. even when its perfectly good weather i.e 25 degrees, the air con will be on! living next to them for around 5-6 years, ive NEVER seen them open a window.
since its just always turned on, makes our family wonder whether one of their family members work for an electricity company -_-
