THANKYOU!!!! i am using cinema 4d v12 with realflow v5, it has taken me ages to get the realflow plugin to work, and have been able to use this tutorial! thanks so much for all your help!!
@jamesbaashford hey dudeeeeee i have a huge problem, every time i export the realflow proyect and import it to cinema 4d ( of course i did the first part of making the glass and so forth) but thats not the problem, the problem is that when i see the mesh on cinema 4d i see that the water protrudes some parts of the glass, how can i fix this? help!
Hello great tutorial dude. i wanna ask anyone how can i do this with Cd4 r12 RealFlow5, i do the same has in the tutorial, (menu lil diferent), the thing is everything is fine until i go to my C4d to Import files..then always ask for Bin files and my Rf5 creates varius folders one of then is GriD/GridFluidDomain01_00000.gdc ( alot of files) and in Cache/cache_00001.bdc (a lot of files) other empty, none of then have .BIN
any sugestion how can i import my bathtub with water to c4d again?
@Trav164 You could subscribe, lol no worries glad it was helpful to some one that is kinda the point. If there are any other tuts you would like me to do just comment or pm me dont mind thanks again
Alright, after many hours of using google (no RF5 + C4D R12 tuts around) I figured it out. In RF5 you must ShowMesh and use the particle mesh (docs mention this as the old way of doing it) and the rest of your tutorial works. The thing to look out for is it defaults to metaballs and I changed it to Mpolygons and everything worked as you said. Play around with the parameters or you get some rather large polys that makes it look like garbage.
Well, I got it to work using the last comment but I have yet to get it to render out. Everything else renders out just not the water in the tub. Now if I use the slider I can see the particles and the flow but why I can't render even one frame, like you did, I haven't found out yet. Seems the people are taking cues from Microsoft and just making things different because they can. Probably sell more tutorial seminars and stuff (like Microsoft does) by changing people's workflow.
Yep, they changed it as I just figured it out. You now have to load the mesh .bin AND load the particle .bin as well. Seems they separated them to give more control.
Something changed in C4D in V5 because this part of the tutorial no longer works. The option you hit isn't even there and when I hit the new option (setup->file path) for the .bin mesh it accepts it but never plays it.
Looks like they changed the workflow's method and your way is no longer viable.
@jamesbaashford i added a mesh object in cinema, yeah, but it still doesn't have anything in the folder. i'm starting to think my realflow is fucked, imma get a new one.

You can just click on the button to the right of the render button to render the movie instead of making the preview.

@jamesbaashford does things float on top of it ?
matthewjv12345 1 year ago
@matthewjv12345 yes but you would have to do all that in realflow and use its physics system
