  • Kids are always the logic of reason nowadays. If you don't corrupt their minds from an early age, they will decimate any controversy if they're given facts.

  • The translator at the beginning didn't translate that the lausd fears the cameras.

  • So little food education going on. The only stuff they teach you in health class is about STDs to scare you not to have sex

  • You know the thing about choice. It's easy to blame it on people decisions, but the thing is people over estimate on their decision making while producer of harmful products uses the same reason to deny any responsibility.

  • ok these guys are idiots im 6 and i got it all correct

  • lol he should of got me to answers those questions. i would have ace it ;)

  • Have anyone noticed that proccessed food in america is more affordable than real food. Not saying it should be the other way around because who would want to pay a lot for fake food? I think healthy food should be more affordable for us.

  • @TheJacutiepie14 I agree. That's the tough thing, finding the balance between affordability and healthiness of the food you buy.

  • bottom line.. parents buy the food for the children.. educate the parents (if you can?).. you can make a living from healthy food .. just look at the organic food industry.. it's growing so fast and it's all due to EDUCATION.. we need to start from a very early age.. how early???? FROM BIRTH!!!!

  • I can see both Jamie and Dino's perspectives. Ultimately, eating fast food usually IS a choice. I've battled with my weight for years, but I don't blame those establishments much - no one forces me to drink a milkshake. Whenever I simply refuse to indulge in it 99% of the time, I lose weight and feel better. Dino does have a family to feed. But Jamie is right - why not make fast food healthier when it IS possible to do so for a reasonable price and people actually say they like it?

  • @DarthZillasaurus Jsut Americans apparently can't be expected to make the right choices. And it's not like you can't make a living off of healthy food.

  • honey comes from honey bear. lol!

  • @pluckandtuck Kindergarten kids would put into special classes for these kind of answers around here... Sometimes there's just not enough facepalms in the world.

  • to LAUSD: All those years of education and you guys are still dumb as fuck... really... shame on you....

if it is just dramatization, i apologize for getting carried away... if it IS real then.. well... the LAUSD had just shown the world how dumb can a human being possibly be..

  • @chantimothy it's not dumb to not know where honey comes from if nobody tells you where honey comes from

that is called ignorance, and if there's shame in ignorance then merely being alive is shameful

OR maybe some kids were just playing a joke on the famous chef

  • Are they serious?

    How dumb can you get?!?!

  • I think this show really shows america's culture. The good and bad. The struggle

  • I mean, Sophia is right and all, but so is Dino/Deno/w/e his name is. Eating fastfood is a choice, it's not HIS fault that her family eat too much of it. Still, Jamies solution is something he should realize because it's obviously healthier and more profitable. He's just being stubborn or a very good actor.

  • @Lennart50 Then again, the fast food industry isn't exactly making it easy to resist choosing fast food, especially the big names. Addictive substances are in the products, from things to salt and other unmentionables. But yes, there's always a choice. It's how hard you are willing to resist making the bad ones.

  • I love Jamie and what he's doing but I think he needs to put himself in Deno's shoes too. He keeps whining that Deno does not understand his cause but neither does he seem to understand Deno's fears.

  • Jamie has such a tender heart, and he really, truly cares for the kids. We need more people like him in the world!

  • Those process food makes those kids stupid! Haha!

  • This dude was MUCH harder to change then the guy from "the dawg".

  • Lol< Cocoa Lake

  • waw reminds me how lucky i am... i might be overweight but i know what to do about it, i know how to do it and i will

  • This image inversion is freaking me out!!

  • I think it's rather low of Jamie to put Dino in such an awkward situation. He is just trying to support his family. Putting Sofia directly in front of him and filming it is exploitation of Sofia and Dino...bad call Jamie...rather tasteless.

  • @MajellaRS i kind of agree with you, but as cruel as it seems, to make a difference in the world, a person (like Dino) has to take risks. And its rather low of Dino to not even give this idea a chance and take part in a good deed. Maybe he would have even more customers if they knew his food is still tasty (as everyone agreed) BUT also healthier! think about it :)

  • @RussianLusia Absolutely...I suppose change is hard for everyone, particularly in these unpredictable times, however, I like your advocacy in "change"...and you also have manners...xx

  • @MajellaRS xoxo

  • The product 'castoreum' is made from the anal gland of the beaver. This is present in vanilla ice cream and artificial strawberry milk.

    ewwwwww

  • LAUSD sucks bigggggg time!

  • AHAHHAHA Omg the dude can see the future, I am actually laughing hard at those incults xD

  • corn dogs grow from trees LMAO thats the funniest shit ive ever heard... im kind of embarrassed to be going to this school now LOL

  • thank god for kosher food... there is no insects, no hair & no feathers in our food which is extremely supervised

  • dont want pig's brain! i kick your ass with the ball!

  • You can make a living in other ways! Dino's father died for gods sake and he met Sofia whose family is wasting away because of businesses like his and - nothing. Nothing can change him now - its all about easy money.

I admire Jamie for breaking into the fast food industry because not everyone can afford healthy food and so they turn to the processed foods. He gives people a choice of healthy food that's also affordable.

  • honey comes from honey bears lol

  • and american citizens wonder why the rest of the world thinks americans are fat retards?

  • @rjhill95 Oh, I can give them a bunch of "unhealthy" reasons why. *shakes head*

By statistics in terms of healthy diets and the like, we (U.S.A.) are in 1st place for the most unhealthiest country in the world. Australia is 2nd place, and they're not too far behind from us.

I think it's a shame that people like Deno are intimidated by Jamie Oliver, who's trying to make a change for the betterment of people's lives.

  • lol those kids are idiots

  • @verej1 The kids aren't the idiots. It's the adults that don't have the time or the patience to teach these kids where certain foods come from. Sad to say that these adults are people from my generation. :p

  • ITs kinda upset : / cuz I think everyone would expect higher education means that the person is smarter , but the higher the education system in school the more i feel that the people would become a daily life handicap, this is upset really.

  • really they dont know where food comes from? I think they were hamming it up for the camera's

  • RESPECT for Jamie!!!

  • cocoa lake... oh gawd xDD

  • Jamie's hair is different at 0:44..

  • No offense, but imo, no wonder there's a gap in overall average intelligence and lifespan between America and East Asia. The difference lies in nutrition intake in children. Here the standard food in my country is absolutely homemade, usually seafood. No such thing as fast food being made into regular lunch.

  • @guranad0

Stereotypes =/= Facts. Wooo, you can fucking regurgitate whatever your country tells you. Now how about you actually obtain intelligence.

  • It was that girl's parent's choice to feed her and her sister fast food - not the fast food restaurant owners. It is not Dino's responsibility to ensure parents feed their kids food that don't give them diabetes. That young girl needs to make better choices and get the blame game pity party out of her head or she'll never get anywhere

  • @elli0525 I kind of agree. It's up to them not to feed their kids crap.

  • Denos is definitely not a jerk. Its the customers choice to eat at his reasturant. If you think his food is unhealty, dont eat there. Simple as that.

  • If he's not allowed to talk to students about school food, then get students to talk to students about school food.

  • The Butter/Corn mistake is understandable considering that corn is a common ingredient in margarine, but the others are more alarming.

These kinds of mistakes point to gaps in general knowledge.

Media Literacy and Food Education are intimately connected.

How can you make good decisions with such misconceptions?

I guess you can still be a good obedient consumer/voter yet an uninformed citizen!

    Spaghetti tree, river, or field?

    watch?v=l7yJ8C5TbeY

    Hmm....

  • cocoa comes form Cocoa Lake...lol I wanna go there :) yummy

  • I always complain about how terrible and fallen behind my country is .. but after watching Jamie's revolutions .. gosh I feel so glad I didnt grow up in the US! There's something really wrong over there..:/ :/

  • why are the images mirrored?

  • @maslim To prevent copyright infringement.

  • @maslim if it is mirrored then it bypasses the law of uploading it. its a loop hole.

  • wow the corn dogs acually grow on a corn dog plant....EPIC

  • I understand the position of dina.. it is hard to change things because of someone who he doesn't know suddenly come up in the well running business and telling him to change the menu and petti, it is hard choice for a man like him who has 3 children and a wife

  • I love the show but I hate the editing, it's so corny, there's a re-cap every 5 seconds seemingly for people that cannot follow what's going on... And over the top sob stories, her family have diabetes but it's not the end of the world, just eat less junk some salad.

  • Deno is such a jerk.

    :(

  • Deno Is Worst Then Rod. From The first Season.

  • i loled @ the corn dog part.................

  • I find it hard to believe that some of these kids think corndogs grow and butter comes from corn. They must have told the kids to say that for the show.

  • Sophia is so pretty :)

  • the thing that Deno doesn't get is that the way he provides for himself is killing others. Fast food has become a part of American lifestyle and is also one of the only options for lower class families.

  • Meh, i just really want some ice cream tbh

  • 'Your grandma would give you a slap for that.'

    Genius.

  • @ErikaEnnit thing is, she would indeed.

  • anyway, Deno is totally right, it's your OWN business what you choose... either if it's alcohol, cigarettes... or fast food.

  • so actually what happened to Sophia's sister? I don't understand everything, I'm not an American. so far I've watched the previous episodes but still can't get this one thing, anyone to explain me that?

  • @OneLifeWithEachOther Pretty much Sophia was explaining about how her sister got diabetes like the way her parents did and it was due to her parents giving her fast food all the time and giving a poor diet that lacked fruits and vegetables and she got diabetes at the age of 10. That's pretty much what happened to her sister being a diabetic was because of her parents not willing to choose a better diet that was independent of fast food.

  • Sophia is gorgeous

  • Start with the parents. They need to feed their kids decent food at home and teach them not to buy that shite at the drive through. Until kids earn their own money they can't buy food, so it's the parents who are responsible for creating their eating habits and buying/cooking their food. Any time a kid has an obesity problem, it is NOT a disease or condition or whatever people want to call it as a cop-out. It's the fucking parents who don't feed their kids properly and ignored the early signs.

  • I feel bad for Dino. He seems like a really straight up guy and he treated that fat girl really nicely. He has a business and he's totally right, if people make that choice to buy that food then it's up to them. I'm so happy he didn't cave in and just change his menu. He's in it for the dough and his family has been for years. Regardless of what Jaime's doing (which I TOTALLY support and advocate), it's not his business.

  • thumbs for coco lake XD

  • Wish I could take a swim in that coco-lake!

  • I'll be honest, I don't know where almonds come from.

  • oh man, it is heartbreaking that these kids don't know where their food comes from too that extent.

  • what? the translator didnt translate single sentence about LA USD ... am i being paranoid or what.

anyway... the system is totally corrupted. making young kids addicted to fast food. R.I.P.

  • chocolate comes from cocoa lake..:))))...hilarious

  • im really craving a fatty, cheesy beefy burger and fries gagagagag

  • its very difficult to watch american tv , they edit in a very annoying way , also the music that has to keep playing along.. great programme though, sorry to be a snob .

  • @pedro19611969 I can't stand the music either. It's so in your face. Music is supposed to enhance your emotional response, and in movies it oftes does, but in shows like this it's just annoying; it makes the scenes feel cheesy and fake.

  • Damn Dino is stubborn as a German bull.

  • Apparently the dumbing down and brainwashing of these 17 year olds (perhaps ever since they were born), seemed to have worked!

  • im pretty sure those kids were fucking with him on that test

  • The politicians want to save their jobs and the bureaucrats and the unions, the people who put the menus together and are standing in the way of real progress, are trying not to look stupid. Seriously, America, capitalist country? Free country? I'm Canadian and I've admired America for years, and I knew it was bad. But now I think Jamie needs to track down Alex Jones. Yes Jones is crazy, but I think sometimes you need to get crazy if you want to get something done.

  • Eat To Love ,Not Live to EAT

  • It's sad to see the arrogance in some of these responses.. yes people have a choice.. but that's not always the case! When a disgusting cheeseburger (made of shit meat), topped with the highest salt content fatty cheese and ranch dressing costs less than a similar healthy burger the less fortunate ones will choose the prior out of necessity.. why is this so hard to understand. The American dream is dead for ordinary Americans.. open your eyes & ask why? Don't just follow, lead.

  • @sachinhpatel I'm a libertarian, so all of this pisses me off. The whole reason this is happening is because corporations and government and unions are in collusion. Where's the freedom of choice? Where's the rights of the individual to make decisions for their kids? Parents have no rights. God knows what's in that food they're forcing kids to eat. Bring real freedom and capitalism back to America and get rid of this corporate fascism that is destroying the most vulnerable, America's kids.

  • This show got cancelled because of poor ratings. That's very sad. :(

  • @karadan100 Why would any American watch THIS, when they can settle in front of American Idol with a nice Super-Sized Bigmac and Fries? You're just not living in the american dream, mate.

  • @karadan100 What? So there will be no more episodes or...?

  • @TheCarlScharnberg I think they are going to air up until episode 6.

  • wow. sad how stupid some of these kids. there's a part on snl where will ferrel asks contestants on jeopardy what mustard seeds make

  • its interesting when Jamie spoke about the schools and so on the translator didnt transalte what he was saying, but funny how these people can't speak english

  • @jessuatwork They prolly edited the show to get rid of the translation. Its meant for US/English talking audience. :)

  • @jessuatwork They cut the translation out to change the rhythm. When he was crying they slowed the rhythm down by adding the translation and when it looked more optimistic they cut it out to make it speed up. It's an effect used in reality TV a lot.

  • @jessuatwork Being unable to speak english and being unable to fluidly express yourself and understand nuances in english are different things.

  • @jessuatwork I think she did but they edited most of it out since it's a waste of time

  • LOL he chipped the ball on his daughter and he din even laugh must be a really bad day.

  • @LYJManchesterUnited i knaw was pretty funny but sad

  • @LYJManchesterUnited he did laugh... you can see it

  • It's a tough situation. There clearly is an issue with fast food and obesity but that guy is right, at the end of the day, it's a choice. No fast food company is making people eat their food. People choose to eat there, and eat there frequently. If nobody ate there, the menu would change. Whilst a change in awareness of nutrition is welcomed, people need to accept responsibility for the decisions they have made.

  • @Award80 totally aggree with you, I thought it was a bit much having that young girl Sophia telling Deno that he is to partially to blame for her family's weight problem, he isnt forcing anyone to eat his food, at the end of the day its always easier to blame someone else for your problems, people need become more responsible for their actions

  • @Award80

the little children who are being fed fast food by their parents and who have no idea about where their food comes from don't have a choice.

  • Honey, where does it come from?

    ... I think a bear O_e

    Lmfao these kids...
